I've shot a lot of people's handguns with optics at the range and prefer irons with fiber optic front sight tbh. Maybe I'm just not used to them on a handgun and need more time.
Concerning dot size , it's all about philosophy of use. If you want to engage multiples at closer range. Big dot is faster. If you're looking for pure accuracy at longer distance , small is better.
I have been running the Holosun 508T for 2+ years on my carry pistols....Haven't changed the battery yet!! I have the Viper (with zero problems)on my TX22!!
The problem with any red dot that doesn't have auto on shake awake is you probably won't end up having time to turn it on when you need it. My FNX 45 came with the Vortex Venom, and I don't like it. It's the hardest red dot I own to zero for some reason and the coating scratches super easy. Not to mention that it's the 6 MOA one. Trijicon is so too expensive imo. I like Holosun, they are middle of the road priced and reliable.
The 509t fit my MR920 like a glove no modifications needed at all. I was scared it wouldn’t fit from reading forums. But it fits perfectly. Just had to get some taller Trijicon irons.
Yeah. Had an RMR on my Glock 34 but swapped that out for that Holosun (they have to work on their name scheme). Don’t need a battery change if you have the fiber optic model ;) Only issue is you can adjust the brightness and in the dark a weapon mounted light will for sure wash out the reticle.
You’d be fine. I have a significant astigmatism. Dot looks like a blob indoors. It would still be perfectly usable in a defensive situation. As soon as you add light the blob gets crisp. Outside at the range sun gets rid of most of the starburst effect. Same with a bright weapon light indoors.
For Gee-Lock or M&P guys I love the Leupold DeltaPoint Micro. Easy to install with no plate or MOS setup. Easy to use and very efficient even with small window. Shake awake, 3 moa, easy battery install, and hearty.

There's only 2 red dot manufacturers I'll even consider or ever recommend and that's Trijicon and Holosun. I've broke multiple Vortex red dots and seen to many videos about them breaking and I broke a Leupold Delta Point pro that I had as an offset red dot on my AR15. To me it all comes down to what your budget is... if you have a bigger budget get a RMR if you don't get a Holosun and you can buy a Holosun with confidence because there's way to many videos out there of people beating the crap out of them and they handle it with ease.
Holosun HE508T X2 is really awesome, great field of view, external battery compartment, multi redical (just single 2 moa dot or single dot with 65moa circle), Titanium housing, shake awake, and with the solor panel you can run the optic with out the battery all together(obviously you need light). over all a very awesome red dot for half the price of the RMR. And I’ve used there warranty for a different optic. And it went well, got my new optic about 3 weeks from shipping the other one. To me the 508 should be wayyyy higher on that list, I’d go as far as saying just as good if not better that the RMR. If you’re in the market definitely check out some videos on it, don’t thing you’ll be disappointed.
Removing the battery kind of bugs me. It’s not a big deal, but there are so many other great options where I don’t have to remove the dot to change the battery.

Noob question. Are the sights universally adaptable to every pistol as long as you got the right mount? Do all pistols, for example, have mounts for holosun sights?
Weird list, I think it’s fine to have the RMR as number one, but the rest of the order seems very wrong. And to not include holosuns enclosed emitter seems like a miss. Also to mention EOTECHs red dot which hasn’t been released or tested, shows a little bias on Your part lol Still love your content, hopefully comment helps the algorithm

I'm waiting for the EoTech Eflx.
I think bigger dots are better for astigmatism idk. But I’m trying to buy a 19 mos to get into red dots. And get out of my m&p 2.0
At first putting a 4x acog on my Glock 26 seemed like a good time but let me tell you, I can’t find a single holster for it!
Also to mention EOTECHs red dot which hasn’t been released or tested, shows a little bias on Your part lol
Still love your content, hopefully comment helps the algorithm
Any budget picks? I understand you get what you pay for but hard for me to justify in my current situation spending nearly as much for a sight as I did for my Sig. Least expensive option I see here is the venom for 250
What would you recommend for a Ruger 57?
The holosun eps now has a mount to fit shadow systems
Shadow systems had a plate now ... Pretty good price
