509t for me. Closed emitter, solar backup, Shake awake dot, different reticles, incredibly small yet great sight picture. I love it on my Glock 40. And you can find plates for it that will mount on anything.

Yea Aimpoint blew it by beta testing their ACRO, while Holosun only had minor(Or major if you're OCD/Noob) issues that affected it. I also ain't buying an ACRO now too since there are so many better variants of it out there coming out in the next few months.

First I want to say to anyone new to dots, watch as many of these videos and get your hands on as much of a variety as possible before you pick your go to. Dots are a lot like the guns themselves and will come down to personal preference and choice of feature set. I made the mistake of getting the rmr first just because a lot of people said it is the “best”, but I found that on certain guns I don’t prefer it.
I jumped in the dot world with both feet, outfitting all of my p320s, mos Glocks, and 365xs with dots. Of the ones I’ve tried,
    1. DPP (it’s like my two number 2s had a baby)
    2. Tie rmr06 and Romeo 1 pro
    3. Romeo zero
    4. Holosun (I think 407)
    5. Vortex venom
Of them I still have 4 dpps, 2Romeo 1 pros, 2 rmrs, and 2 zeros. None of the dots I’ve tried have malfunctioned on me or broken. I have dpps and Romeo’s on my p320s and one dpp and the rmrs on my Glocks. I will say this and I am not sure why, for me I MUCH prefer the dpps on my sigs (2 of them are pro slides so they have the rmr foot print too), however I prefer the rmr on Glock. The absolute easiest one that I have to shoot though is the Romeo 1 pro. I like the Romeo zero but don’t love it on my 365xs, it’s a good optic but I don’t think a great one.
I am looking forward to trying the Eotech and the Romeo 2

I wish that on the holosuns it would get brought up more that on the solar backup modes it not only is an obvious backup in case your battery dies but also it adjusts your reticle to the brightness of your environment! It is rough to use if you are inside shooting out into bright daylight, but if you are for instance clearing a room or building it adjusts along the way for you. That way in a dark room you aren't getting blinded by the super bright dot and adjusts to be brighter as soon as you step out into the daylight and vice versa!

    • @AmericaFirstKorey

Holosun should’ve been above venom and dpp just on durability. Venoms and dpps are known to break if dropped. Sometime to the point it’s not usable.
    I’d go
    1. Holosun 509t
    2 RMR
    3. Holosun 508t

The problem with any red dot that doesn't have auto on shake awake is you probably won't end up having time to turn it on when you need it. My FNX 45 came with the Vortex Venom, and I don't like it. It's the hardest red dot I own to zero for some reason and the coating scratches super easy. Not to mention that it's the 6 MOA one. So much easier to use and that's something that can't be taken for granted: technology on firearms should make our use of them more effective, not make us go play hide and seek with red dots.

Holosun HE508T X2 is really awesome, great field of view, external battery compartment, multi redical (just single 2 moa dot or single dot with 65moa circle), Titanium housing, shake awake, and with the solor panel you can run the optic with out the battery all together(obviously you need light). over all a very awesome red dot for half the price of the RMR. And I’ve used there warranty for a different optic. And it went well, got my new optic about 3 weeks from shipping the other one. To me the 508 should be wayyyy higher on that list, I’d go as far as saying just as good if not better that the RMR.

Removing the battery kind of bugs me. It’s not a big deal, but there are so many other great options where I don’t have to remove the dot to change the battery.

The first three videos I found about pistol RDS comparisons literally just read the marketing wank and talked about how great each one was. This was the first one I found where I actually believe the person on the screen actually used the sights.

Cyelee red dot sells for about $80. on Amazon, & will give any one of them a run for their money, shake awake, auto off features, and about a 20000 hr battery life and hold zero and tough as hell and less the 1/3 the cost of any of those

Been running a 407k x2 now for about a year. I love the 6 moa dot because, well speed of acquisition. I can pick the dot up really fast and make damn near instant head shots at 15 yards. Past 20 yards Im using a rifle anyway.

$80 Tasco unless you're an operator or leo. Anything else is just tacti-douche overkill. I have a holosun, a romeo, and a tasco and they work. All of them. Two of them made my wallet much lighter though.

Noob question. Are the sights universally adaptable to every pistol as long as you got the right mount? Do all pistols, for example, have mounts for holosun sights?

  • @JakeCamo

Weird list, I think it’s fine to have the RMR as number one, but the rest of the order seems very wrong. And to not include holosuns enclosed emitter seems like a miss. Also to mention EOTECHs red dot which hasn’t been released or tested, shows a little bias on Your part lol
Still love your content, hopefully comment helps the algorithm

Any budget picks? I understand you get what you pay for but hard for me to justify in my current situation spending nearly as much for a sight as I did for my Sig. Least expensive option I see here is the venom for 250
