The only thing you have to upgrade for a glock is iron sights. If you train, the trigger will break itself in. Facts. Lights and reddots are accessories. The barrel is fine. Love your channel
Spend $550 -700 on a Glock. Then spend another $100-150 on a trigger, $75-150 on sights, $120-180 on a new barrel, and however much it costs to mill a slide and/or do a stipple job. Or you can buy a gun that already has all those things. I get Glock is the 'standard,' and rightfully so, but you shouldn't have to do all that to make a gun as good as a gun you can get off the shelf for potentially half the price.

From someone who's been in the military for 10+ years and shoot many guns - if you know how to shoot and handle and maintain a gun, you'll be just fine with a factory stock gun. I get what your saying but living here in Canada you can’t own any firearm for self defence so when you’re “building” a gun it’s all for enjoyment and fun, and all these extras are a wicked fun 👍
Audrey you hit the nail on the head. Only upgrades you need on a Glock or any gun for that matter is a decent set of sights (irons or optics) and training.
As a combat veteran, I've trained on several different weapon platforms and I still train weekly. A holster and ammo should be the first two things you get after (or when) buying your firearm. I have several G 19s and the variants (19x and G 45). I train on all of them. Put maybe 3-4 rounds in each mag (buy extra mags) and practice shooting and doing reloads and get back on target for follow up shots.
Why conceal carry a handgun with lightning cuts that open the firearm up to the elements? Any type of debris could cause major failures or dangerous operation if you have something obstructing the barrels movement in the slide.
Bro, I love the honesty. Like you said. You can have all the money put into that little guy but if you can’t hit the target. All of that add ons wont help you when you need it the most..
For those with hand/arm/shoulder issues (I suffered a second degree A/C separation in a bike accident) the Slide Pull Charging Handle from the Glock Store works great. It's available on just about every Glock.
My glock 19 required a new barrel, new guide rod, new trigger, and new sights to be able to shoot as well as a Tp9sf, Sar9, M28 (Girsan,) and P120 (Tristar.) By adding the new "upgrades" it raised the total price greater than $800, double the cost of the aforementioned guns. If you like used Honda Civics, at new Accord prices, then the Glock is for you!
for a person new to guns and wants a defense pistol, I would feel good recommending a Glock 9mm the ammo if they could find it would be cheaper than most other calibers, I would not recommend changing the trigger, slide for a combat pistol but I do like lights and sights (night)
Glock Perfection, proceeds to change just about everything on the gun lol. Heck, I'm old enough to remember when people wrapped their Glocks with skateboard anti-skid tap which was before stippling with a hot iron. Question: When will 1911 Fudds be replaced by Glock Fudds?
I know everyone complains about the stock trigger, sights, and trigger guard (ie "Glock Knuckle"), etc, but the first upgrade I put on my Glock was actually an extended slide stop/release (whatever you want to call it). I hated the stock one
RMR, suppressed night sights, trigger, weighted tungston guide rod, light. I found the laser on the light to be very useful for conceal carry. At night in a dark room that laser is much easier to pickup than night sights...you can shoot with one hand over your head with a laser...and yes it will be close.

For my hd glock I swapped out sights and added a piece of skateboard tape to the top of my slide for a little more grip during press checks (press checks are free). Added a light and kept everything else stock. God forbid it gets used in a defensive shoot, but if it does, that gun is going into police custody and I may never get it back. Not going to twist the knife by having a $1000 pistol taken from me when a $600 pistol can get the job done. Everyone hates. But muddy wet or rusty these damn things still work. Plus. From a SHTF standpoint there’s tons of parts all over to be salvaged and 9mm is the most abundant handgun ammo.
What optical sight are you using ? Do your raised sights co witness with you optical sight. When you replace the sights and add an optical sight how do you know if they will co witness . “Oh your friendly, thanks for knocking “. Awesome.
Besides that, the fancy guns STILL require training and ammo and lights and practice etc.
Get what you want. Do what you want with it. Have a purpose.
I've never liked glock but I had the chance to shoot a couple shadow systems and now I want one of those
Had so many stove pipes with mine, returned it 5 days after I bought it after taking it to the range twice
Everyone hates. But muddy wet or rusty these damn things still work.
Plus. From a SHTF standpoint there’s tons of parts all over to be salvaged and 9mm is the most abundant handgun ammo.
I feel that red dot sights are a little excessive.. just not really necessary
What optical sight are you using ? Do your raised sights co witness with you optical sight.
When you replace the sights and add an optical sight how do you know if they will co witness .
That can be a big disappointment and wasted money if that was what you are trying to achieve and they do no co witness. Thank You for his video it is well appreciated.
Best upgrade? Strike 80 frame.. Feels so great in the hand.
@@AmericanDaddyOh I got the strike 80 to replace my pf940c frame and cut the 940c frame into an SC frame and made a g26.
Timney Alpha trigger for Glock is nice. My trigger pull on my 19X is under 3lbs.
1. HOLSTER
2. Sights
3. Intelligence
I love the stock Glock trigger.. it lets me know what’s happening
Same
I have a Gen 4 Glock 19 and a Gen 5. Accuracy seems to be much better with the Gen 5. Better trigger and barrel. I did change the sights to Ameriglo Big Dot and they are great.
Could you guys try to get some smith and Wesson m&p stuff and make an upgrade video?
I guess when you spoke about the sights you were only referring to the "iron" sights, ("Trijicon suppressor-height night sights") like a Trijicon 600689 GL204C, and did not say anything about the red dot? Can you please share the red dot brand and the model (is it a Vortex Viper?) to look it up? Thx!
I wasn’t a fan of Glock until November 2018 and took a chance buying a Gen 3 Glock 21 .45ACP I fell in love with it my first gun was a Taurus PT111 G2 that I gave my dad after I bought the Glock 21 I took him to register the Taurus PT111 G2 in his name 3 months after that I bought a Gen 3 Glock 27 then 2 months after that a Armalite AR-15 (M-15) then 4 months after I bought a Beretta APX that came with 2 17+1 mags then a month later I bought a Springfield SA-XD that came with 2 12+1 mags a OWB magazine, gun holster
, and speed loader then 4 months later a Gen 5 Glock 19 and then months later I bought an American Tactical Imports 20 gauge Bulldog shotgun for $404.90 my neighbor said we’re going to the range to try out my 20 gauge Bulldog shotgun 😂
You didn’t mention metal guide rods. What’s your opinion of them?
Reason I love glocks is because it seems to be only hand gun that fits my hand nice and tried lots others and they didn’t fit my hand right or comfortable to hold so Glock is my go to tbh..
Yall should do stress tests on OE glocks vs glocks with customizations. Would be pretty cool, ie windows vs serrations vs trigger upgrades vs optics vs combinations vs classic out of the box.
I think he's tweakin the stock sights are sexy asf but you can't beat a red dot
The holster is definitely number 1
If you had a Glock 27 already would you spend the time and money to upgrade that or would you get this MR 920?
Mine came with Glock night sights. Great metal sights
I have a fully upgraded Glock 26 I keep in my end of the world bag it has a 15 rd mag, a o light, a beaver tail, a red dot, a skeleton slide, and a aftermarket trigger
And underwood fmj hollow point for ammo
Why replace with same 5lb trigger ? I knw smoother. But I drop down to 3.5lbs. . The Blue is sweet thu.
I digress about lasers being unneeded. In some instances/scenarios you may not be able to look down your sights. Hip fire with an attached laser can not be denied.
Are the internals of the shadow systems same as a glock? In other words, does the shadow systems have two internal safetys like the Glock has?
Wow, a must replacing is the polymer guide rod with tungsten guide rod
Own a couple glocks and only upgrades I’ve done to both are tritium sights and lots of ammo with lots of training with them both
I had that light on my pistol, hated the laser so I sold it. Been slacking on getting the one without a laser. Also I have the MR920 Elite. Love it.
How does the Shadow Systems MR920 compare to the Glock when it comes to ease of racking the gun?
In regards to the slide milling and reliability.
You added weight to the slide with the optic. The milling just brought it back to stock.
I have a gen 5 g19..what is the actual sku# of that one and from your experience, where is the best place to buy from? With actual new, good products?
GREAT LIGHT.......I have one it only lacks quick release like O Light
What kinda spring do u have on ur guide rod. Ur gun appears to rack very easy with little to no strength
I already planned on getting a light and beam but only other thing im add is sites and im good to go and i might not even have the beam on everytime
Having recently acquired a Gen5 17, I watched this with some interest . . . but I'm curious . . . how many of these mods void the manufacturer warranty?
its a glock unless you throw it off a cliff you probably wont need the warranty.
I use to. Now I’m getting a 17 gen 5 next month it comes with 3 clips an they’re selling me 2 more clips for 20. Apeice my hk vp 9 has an amazing trigger.
Press checking a Glock? I thought there is an indicator on the side to tell you if it's loaded or not?
I love that color on that glock, silver with black, where can i get that color combo?
I like how the take home message is..... Buy a better gun. 😂 Shadow systems
I love my MR920!!!
The majority of the WORLDS law enforcement and military and civilians disagree.
@@missinghenrydavid7606 I thought the majority of global law enforcement were using Sigs now. Either the 226 or three p320
This might sound really stupid question but why do alot of police and military use mid size pistols instead of full size example g19 and g17
Taran tactical +5 aluminum base pads
The Shadow Systems MR920 is sadly not on the California “Safe Handguns Roster”. Thankfully the Gen3 is so upgradeable!
Heh, Glock tagline:
"It's Adequate."
I like to upgrade the iron sights and recoil spring, buy a takedown tool, extra firing pin and trigger spring, then stash them in ammo cans packed full and bury them around the state like big tacticool squirrel
i think after sights the most important thing to upgrade is the extractor with an apex extractor and i like to upgrade the ejector to the gen 5 ejector, had a lot of issues with the gen 3 ejector that came in my gen 4 glock 17
