@the zodiac guru I'm sorry I don't follow and I don't want you to think I'm being hostile. It's not a P229/p226 so you wouldn't decock. The P320's they're using don't have an external safety. Reset what on that firearm? Are you saying he should have emptied the chamber and reinserted the mag? Do you not carry with a round in the chamber? I never saw him violate one of the four fundamentals of gun safety.
@Zodiac, The P320’s are striker fired not hammer, striker fired pistols have the same trigger pull regardless first shot or second or 3rd, I’m assuming your referring to a SA/DA pistol
@the zodiac guru Guess I’m confused by what your referring to “resetting”, all P320’s are striker fired with no safety so it’s either stick back in the holster ready to rock or take Mag out, eject live round, reinsert mag and holster but then you’ll have to re-rack before next drill or next time you need to use...
I have to give you props for being able to maintain your concentration and actually learn while under both the eyes of the instructor and on camera, knowing the world will see this. Well done.

I love this type of training but what you rarely hear anyone talk about is how tiring it is. It's equally mentally tiring as well as physically. The concentration that it takes to learn something to this degree is definitely worth all that goes into it though. Thanks Colion Noir.
It’s tiring at first but as you train you get used to it and then you find you can do this for very long periods of time and that repetition will smooth each step out.
I watched Colin get much more comfortable at about 6 minutes and showed a nice smooth transition. I will be getting my first sight today and I hope to have the same success.

Always made more sense to me to have slight bend in elbows rather than those locked out arms I see a lot. Cool to hear this instructor assert this and his stance really seems to absorb a lot of the recoil.
Man you awesome to show this on the tube. I would be embarrassed to let people watch me while I was learning something especially in a day when if you talk about a topic you are expected by many to somehow magically be an expert about everything related to it.
I have light eyes and large pupils and i frequently feel that it's more "bright" (as far as my eyes hurting) when it's overcast than when it's sunny. UV is invisible and doesn't cause your pupils to constrict like bright visible light does, but it still hurts your eyes. So you can actually get more of it in your eyes on a slightly overcast day than on a sunny day
Thank you so much for expressing how we can overcome cross eye dominance using our left hand to pec/chest. I’ve been searching and searching for techniques how to quickly get in position from holster carry, and this piece of advice is lifesaving in moments where seconds will matter.
Great lesson vid Colin. Im not big on red dots on pistols. After watching this that makes perfect sense how people get proficient at using them😊👍. #keepAmericatactical
I'm the same way. But, it's funny. I always had red dots (aim point, and then etch) on my issued long guns, but nothing but night sights on my pistols.
I like Sig’s technique not starting with the muzzle up, which is not permitted at many if not all gun ranges. And confirmed by an icon in the shooting world, Ken Hackathorn for some other reasons that make sense in real world settings. Sig top notch training
You should train to shoot at fast as possible and hit whatever size/distance your target is. The 9mm and 5.56 are rounds that are very forgiving of missed shots. You're more likely to have good effects with multiple rounds. If your target is man sized at 10m you don't need to be taking slow, accurate shots. You slow down your shot cadence for more distant or smaller, low percentage targets.
Good video! The instructor came through at the end with that follow my shot drill. Living in the Southwest makes me yearn a bit for the colder parts of the Country.
Killacamfoo O.G. Don’t listen to victor. Do your research and get what you want and what fits you. I do a 3.5 MOA so I can get more precise hits, do what you want 👍🏻
@@victorcoleman949 I'd consider that or an RMR, but both are hundreds more than the deal I have on a Romeo1 for $299. Plus, that 7.5 MOA is no longer made, and I'd need an adapter for a CZ P10-C OR.
@@victorcoleman949 - do you run backup iron sights, and if so which ones. I’m looking but a delta pro, but I am concerned about the height of the sights needed to get over the height of the base of the delta point pro. I will be putting it on a G35 as a carry gun. Also, if you run iron backups, what holster did you find that would accept the taller front sight?
Colion my issue with red dots is in a fight you don't aim. Not with a handgun not with an m4 a 240 or 249 unless its the beginning of an ambush. I can see their use in competition but sadly for most Americans we have one handgun for most eventualities or sporting uses. Love your content. My question is what is your recommendation for red dot vs iron sights now that you have had more time to properly learn? (For competition and combat)
A lot of panicked self defenders dont use their sights and just shoot to shoot but if you watch hundreds of police body cams and security camera footage you notice the people aiming stopping the threat as quickly as possible. Countless shootings where aimed accurate shots have been used to stop the threat
@@ethanwiley7605 my i point out the plethora of incidents where police fire 60 shots and don't hit. Trust me from personal experience when bullets are going the other way you don't think to aim.
@@semper8040 while that may be true, the goal should always be to use your sights... Accurate well placed shots from cover win fights. Why do you think US troops typically win firefights in the middle East and casualties are usually from IEDs? Because the Taliban doesnt aim...
Love this! Real information, honest approach! Great training. I appreciate that you don’t come across as you have it all figured out and that you are teachable. I can trust that in a man! Exactly how I roll. I can never learn to much. Thanks for sharing and all that you do to inform us about the real attack on our freedom!
This is what I'm wondering. If the dot is focused beyond 10 or 20 ft, then presbyopia - which causes issues being able to see iron sights clearly - won't be a problem. I switched to red-dot and scopes on my rifles for this reason and I'm wondering if I should consider switching to red-dot on my pistol as well. I think a trip to my local gun store/range is in order to try for myself.
@@billwells7464 I've shot my buddies Glock 19 with an RMR Gen2 and I was able to shoot a lot better. I carry a G19 as well so I guess that's my next upgrade.
@@brazzy1467 Yeah. I'm wondering if I can find a factory gen4 MOS slide somewhere. I'd rather not buy another pistol just for the MOS, but a slide or a trade-in would be good. First, I need to try shooting with an optical sight to see how it works for me.
@yan chang I've thought about it but I have a very big phobia of anything getting close to my eyes. VERY BIG, but I'm supposed to talk to the doctor in two months about it when I go to the VA for my eye check up.
This helped me with the dot higher than my normal natural sight picture. It also helped me realize issues with my progessive lenses in my prescription glasses. Sighting in I bench rested and looked thru my distance point in the upper of the lense. When shooting I look thru the lower lense to focus on the front sight screwing up my accuity on the dot. Almost gave up on red dots but now I can adapt.
You're supposed to push straight out from the draw with iron sights as well! The techniques he's showing are the same techniques you're supposed to have been doing with iron sights as well. It's all about mastering the fundamentals. Had he mastered the fundamentals during his iron sight period, the transition over to red dot would've been uneventful!

I think I recall Jerry Miculek talking about not dropping the head as well. Keeping the head, arms, etc as natural as possible without forcing yourself into an unnatural position. Seems to be pretty solid advice to me. I guess consistency is the most important factor though. Cheers, thanks for this.
Really appreciate you showing everything from the start. Slow and smooth. Camera showing everything. Learning how to practice is important. Not everything will be perfect every time, it's a process. I like the idea of not shooting when it's not perfect. Great way to teach slowing down, make it smooth. Great stuff.
This is the best. Buying a weapon is pretty easy. Being in great shape and well trained is much harder and much more important. Please give us more of these type of vids. Kudos and thanks much...
I know the focus is on Colion and the instructor, but can we take a moment to appreciate the phenomenal camera work done in this video, specifically following the gun on the draw to discharge.

Boy of boy did this video help me gain a better understanding......thanks Big Dawg for posting and sharing your experience with us 🤙🤘
I applaud you so much in going through this especially since you didn't like it at first. I always say that shooting is like falling in love, getting the girl and then keeping the girl happy. Cloudy days are worse for your eyes than clear days. There is the same amount of UV but your pupils dont constrict as much.
Thank you so much for expressing how we can overcome cross eye dominance using our left hand to pec/chest. I’ve been searching and searching for techniques how to quickly get in position from holster carry, and this piece of advice is lifesaving in moments where seconds will matter.
Love the chase shooting at the end I need to try. Good shooting!

Great camera work
He’s one of the best instructors I’ve seen. Easy to understand. Nice and direct. Nice shooting
@@ralphholiman7401 ditto brother😊👍
I like Sig’s technique not starting with the muzzle up, which is not permitted at many if not all gun ranges. And confirmed by an icon in the shooting world, Ken Hackathorn for some other reasons that make sense in real world settings. Sig top notch training
😁👍 I knew this one was coming!
Colion, thank you for publishing this. We all are learning right there with you. “Keep up the fire.”
Great teacher there
That last “follow my shot” is one I haven’t seen before. Really cool and I will definitely do in the future. Great video.
"Aim small miss small." Don't hear that enough these days! Most of the stuff today is "how fast can I put rounds anywhere on this steel plate?"
True
That’s why I use small steel plates
This was actually super helpful, this guys a great instructor. That shot chasing drill at the end was awesome.
This an outstanding instructional video. Colion to you and your instructor, Thankyou
Good video! The instructor came through at the end with that follow my shot drill. Living in the Southwest makes me yearn a bit for the colder parts of the Country.
This a great video, would love to see more like this one.
Excellent tips. I used the instructional tips and I am completely amazed on how they work when presenting and squiring the red dot.
Man, this is just what I needed today. About to buy a Romeo 1.
Don't, you'll regret it...upgrade to the Delta Point Pro, with the 7.5 MOA triangle reticle. I have one on my Sig P320, absolutely love it.
Killacamfoo O.G. Don’t listen to victor. Do your research and get what you want and what fits you. I do a 3.5 MOA so I can get more precise hits, do what you want 👍🏻
Man I'm on the same boat, just got a P320 X Vtac and now I gotta save for the Romeo1 😅
Colin, I been struggling with the red dot, this video is a great help in assuring me with defending my family. Off to the range…
@@semper8040 Most cops can't shoot and don't train often.
@@edwardstroud390 its true i have become far more weapon proficient after EAS
Love this! Real information, honest approach! Great training. I appreciate that you don’t come across as you have it all figured out and that you are teachable. I can trust that in a man! Exactly how I roll. I can never learn to much. Thanks for sharing and all that you do to inform us about the real attack on our freedom!
I'm needing to get a red dot for my conceal carry. My eye's aren't getting any better.
@@billwells7464 Brownells has the cut slides for sell.
I watch quite a few shooting drills and I always love to see something new that will help me hone my skills.
How does RUclips know I just put a red dot on my glock?!
RUclips: we're listening, literally!
Ominous laugh.
Big brother is always watching
If you're using any apps by Google , they monitor your location 24/7 when the phone is on (even with the GPS off). The estimated location that you're currently in is frighteningly accurate ( it's usually
Maaaaan! That shoot around was awesome!
That last drill looks so much fun. I would definitely be trying this when I find a range that will allow it.
Not only did we learn, and enjoy this educational display, but we got to see a variety of holster that we'll probably seek for a new holster!
I know the focus is on Colion and the instructor, but can we take a moment to appreciate the phenomenal camera work done in this video, specifically following the gun on the draw to discharge.
Just purchased my first pistol Glock 19 gen 5 and holosun 508 t red dot happy I found this video so early. So I can kill bad habits early will definitely be running this drill at the range. Order a bunch of your merch about a week and half ago can't wait for it to be delivered
Makes it a whole lot easier to understand. Great trigger discipline too. Finger always off trigger right after the shot.
I LOVE THE CHASING THE ROUND DRILL AT THE END. GREAT STUDENT TO OTHER TRAINING. YOUR'E AWESOME BUDDY.
I noticed that I drop my head/chin to locate my red dot as well. Been trying to practice and get better with it for the past 3 months and I was about to ditch the red dot of my pistol.
It takes constant work to truly get better at it every day throughout your life. So again, Kudos on doing this and sharing it with the rest of us. 🤜🤛
No one mentioned how great of a student Colin is, even though he is a capable shooter he listens more than he talks.
I love this instructor I'll be trying this drill on iron and dot. Reward and punishments work so why not do it whenever you need it to build good habits.
Great lesson. It helped solve the mystery of the floating dot. Thanx
Honestly this is a good commercial for the Sig academy. I've never owned a Sig and want to take this course. Really good video, lot of great info.
Have been thinking about transitioning to a red dot thanks for the instruction!! I also appreciate your pushing back on the constant infringement of our 2A rights!
