New York hot dogs? garbage. Chicago hot dogs? way better. New York city? trash. Now, let me explain why. New York hot dogs are all fluff and no substance. The sausages are small and bland, and the rolls are always too soggy. Chicago hot dogs, on the other hand, are a masterpiece. They got the juicy, all-beef frank. They got that perfectly grilled onion. And they put everything right on top of a poppy seed bun. Chicago dogs are where it's at.

i love every dutch person speaking english because you can always hear the dutchness in their voice and its just hilarious to me
Inderdaad
Especially female actresses. Noticed it a lot recently
She is clearly not that impressed after tasting
Question from someone who doesn`t know much. Is there anything special about the hotdog itself or just like the combo with a tropical drink? I mean jolibee has tropical drinks too
That's what I want to know. It seems like they get the hot dogs that they cook from some factory. It's not like the hot dogs are homemade or made according to some special recipe. Those same hot dogs are probably shipped to hundreds of restaurants and hot dog stands all over the Northeast of the United States, if not all over the country.
5:25 them school kids sure look different from what i remember.
They grow up so fast
Lolol, just watch the news you'll see how much it's changed.
Flunkies
she has to be one of the worst hosts for any of these types of food shows I've seen on youtube. lacks personality in every video shes in, which is sad because I love these kinds of videos
yeah the way her eyes flared up at 3:37 before she bit the hot dog kind of annoyed me
ThaCssLulz besides the weird Adam Gase eye flare when she bit, what else did she do wrong? I thought she was enthusiastic enough
@@TheLocalLt where was this enthusiasm you speak of? most of it in not just this but all the videos shes host of everything feels like shes really forcing it. even people who aren't chefs like the worth it guys still put on a good show at least. this has no personality at all, you could replace her with anyone at that studio and come up with the same result if not better.
Yes she’s boring af
@312 City they probably do that to get more views and likes
My Cousin used to stop there when he returned from Europe. Straight from JFK to the Papaya King then home. I go at least a few times a year to grab a bite and I go crosstown to get there. Could eat at Gray's, but I don't.
"And the papaya is always great with vodka"never thought I'd hear yank say them words
4:27 "it's great with Vodka" Yeah! I'm sure you bring some of that to spice the drink up 😂😂😂
“I’ve coming here for (x) years” - every new yorker
“And for $4... it’s a steal.”
Jordan Is that an actual Papaya Juice. Im from a tropical country... no such thing as papaya juice. no one even wants it for a shake. but i always thought perhaps it can be sold as a drink. Do they make it fresh???
@@eduardochavacano its actual papaya juice I think because its pretty bland to me.
Andrew Clarke well, coz papaya juice dont exist in some places where it is abundant. But if it sells in NYC, I thought perhaps it can sell elsewhere. Papaya shakes may be existing. but it is not close to how everyone knows mango or avocado shakes.
@@eduardochavacano here in Chile we have papaya sodas, papaya juice, papaya serum. Its quite delicious.
I Never realised Papaya King's was stated by Greeks. Amazing
the Gray’s papaya in the village with recession special with orange drink was great the best.

My uncle comes in from Palm Beach. After I picked him up at LGA (pre-Covid), he always stopped at Papaya King for two dogs w/mustard & kraut, then to his hotel.
New favorite food channel!!! Your editing is fantastic. Great dialogue, great interviews
I search it up on goggle n it says it’s closed permanently
we had a papaya king here in los angeles for a minute and i miss it!!! i'm sure it was difficult to compete with the street dog carts...MISS YOOOOOOU!!!
"Many imitators across the city" *shows only one shop*
panda pon sounds better than „one place in another part of town has a similar menu“
They showed 3. Come on. They only showed one after they showed the others.
panda pon well the segment isn’t about them
I live on the Big Island if Hawaii in an Ohia forest. I hope some day to visit NY & especially to have your papaya drink & 🌭 hotdogs. Mahalo nui for your blog on my radio with Scott Simon HRR 1 radio. Suzanne
As someone from Chile and has grown with “Completos” my entire life, I had a chance to try Papaya’s Hotdogs. They’re nice, but they’ll never beat a good Completo.
elFacho facts. Nothing will replace a completo
Que son? Suena bien jajaja
I love that place. Been going there since I was a kid.
Now you are a full grown Goat?
1:19 ("Gray's Papya") is the imitator that's on 72nd street that he talks about at 1:34
Man I forgot how much I miss Anthony Bourdain
Bro no cap I forgot he existed after a few months
My dude at 4:30 knows how to take a real lunch break 😂😂
"The winning combo has spawned many imitators."
*Shows 2 imitators.*
I loved their recession specials back in '91.
They had that recession special up until about 10 years ago, when it was $2.50 for two dogs and a drink.
I miss Bourdain 😢
Well theres a quick and easy way to join him bruh
STIR FRY 😂😂😂
STIR FRY how? Please elaborate?

Me: *NOICE*
I had it once and I can’t forget it. It really was the best 🙂
Makes me miss home.🥲
Always the move after the club!
Peeps: Nothing can beat the King COMBO OF FOOD, 'CHICKEN AND WAFFLES!'
Papaya King: Hold my Beer.
Me and my friends use to cut school to go there and then hang out in the village location by West 4th . To be honest the Hotdogs and papaya drink was off the chain.
You mean Gray's Papaya on 6th Av. and 8th St.? Not there anymore but miss them.
Circa 1991.. I was 20 and had just moved to the city to become the worlds best musician.. I stayed at a pretty grimy YMCA residence on 24th and 7th Ave. There was a Papaya King across the street. I survived on the 2 hot dogs and drink for $1.99 and a multi vitamin a day for 6 months… enjoyed every bite…
Papaya King: I’ve been here since I was 10 and now I’m *69*
Me: nice
I’m not from New York I’m from Chicago but I know about this place because of Cosmo Kramer on Seinfeld (the movie episode) , season 4 episode 14.
I like how we’re surprised a sweet drink with a savory hotdog are good when we’ve all had a Pepsi and burnt hotdog at a barbecue
UNDERRATED COMMENT!!!!! Wish I could like it twice! 👍🏾
Nothing else like it on earth. Whenever I visit NYC it’s my first stop.
I haven't craved for a hotdog this badly in a long time, looks delicious. 🤤🤤
My cousin Mr Sum Yong Wang owns a hot dog stall in China also. His meat products are sourced from pests and insects so are very sustainable and low impact on the environment. This allows him to keep prices low to feed low income families at minimal cost. The most popular item is the Crazy Wang Deal which includes a McWang Dog, Fried Rice and bubble tea drink with extra pearl.

Just a small correction: Sour cole doesnt have any vinager in it. What you smell/taste is its own fermentation with some salt.
She talking about the onion sauce
Lmfao correct yourself. What in the world is sour cole lol

This put such a genuine smile on my face.
I went to New York on a school trip and waited in line for an hour and a half just to try one and it was so delicious I waited again. It wasnt the original papayas tho.. now I want to try Papaya King dogs ❤️❤️❤️
No hot dog is worth an hour and a half wait.
Yeah, idk WHERE you went, but there has NEVER been more than maybe a 15-20 min wait here………..I call bullshit
There's a food truck her run Central Florida that does a similar thing, but with a different take on it. Place is called Kona Dog, and they offer hot dogs in a sweet bun that's been hollowed out from the top and your choice of sauces, including a selection of fruit or fruit mix ones like coconut, pineapple, or mango mustard. Sounds/looks a look unusual but it's delicious.
Visiting New York but heard it closed down. True?
Ok so at 5:22 they all “totally” look like the description
Hahahaha yeah exactly what I thought, what was the editor thinking?
