    A new RUclips channel? Huh? Still waiting on your lift video.... You'll get a lot of views... ; ) , And it's good to know you are from the Northwest Seattle area.... I have the same truck, just stock,I put the mbrp , and tinted the windows, now I need to lift it

    • @pentzwerks

      Hello Giancarlo.
      Please too know that someone is paying attention to my channel. I've decided to replace my exhaust video with two videos, one being a sound clip of the MBRP and the other comparing stock versus MBRP. The lift video will be coming soon, I've set a deadline for uploading within the next 10 days.
      Congratulations on your truck, it sounds like you are off to a good start. Once I upload the Lift, Tires and Wheel video I will let you know by commenting on this comment. Thank you for the positive feedback.

      Hello Topher1974cm.
      I was in an industrial district while I was recording this so I couldn't rev it as loud as I wanted too. Plus the truck only had 2000 miles on it when this was recorded so I wanted to break the engine in properly.

      I will definitely have to check out the dual exhaust system made for the 2017 Toyota Tacoma. I decided to go with a single pipe for the price, $210 with free shipping is hard to beat! How much did you pay for your dual system?

    Hey man, really nice truck and exhaust. Question, would having this exhaust void toyotas warranty on a truck? Would appreciate the feedback, thanks.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Guzm7.
      This exhaust will not void any warranty give by Toyota, I’ve had this truck serviced twice and nothing was said about the exhaust. Plus, this exhaust does not modify any engine internals or gearing so you will not void a warranty. Good question though, glad I could answer.

    Is there any drone in the cabin did you use the same gasket or did you have to get another one I also noticed that the tailpipe is pretty close to the spare tire does that create any problem and one last thing did you install it yourself or did you take it to your local garage

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Rick.
      I've had the exhaust for 12,000 miles now and put it on my truck with 1,000 miles. The first 8,000 miles I didn't hear any droning because I was mainly driving back roads to and from work (0mph - 50mpg). I recently took a road trip down to Portland in which I was going 75 mph which showed 2500 rpm and there was droning. The droning occurs at speeds of 71-75, 78-85 with 33 inch tires and in 6th gear. The droning happens between 2300 rpm and 2500 rpm. According to some forums on tacoma world, the last bend in the exhaust causes the droning so you can cut it show when it dumps over the axle and fix that. I will be doing this in the near future. The exhaust is loud but not obnoxiously loud, I can still take business calls in the truck and not have the worry about some saying "why is your truck so loud." If your radio is on volume level 25, that is the amount of noise the exhaust gives off. AKA, if you listen to the radio above 25 you won't hear the exhaust. I do not suggest this exhaust is you have long commutes or plan on long road trips. I kept my stock exhaust and put it on when I drive for long periods of time.
      I install the exhaust myself, very easy to do or have a shop do it for $100. Completely up to you, all you need is some WD40 and a 14 mm socket wrench. Have someone help you as it's difficult to do it alone. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Do you have a leveling kit on your Tacoma? If yes, did you have to install it to fit those tires?

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Rob.
      I put a Revtek Leveling Kit on it with a Add-A-Leaf so that I could use a 285 tire without rubbing. This is only a temporary fix till I can afford a King, Icon or Fox suspension. I will be uploading a video soon explaining my lift, tires and the why I did a level kit and not a full suspension. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Did you notice any loss in low end torque? I just got this exhaust installed today and although it may sound nice. I feel that I lost low end torque. My 2017 is an automatic.

      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Taco Trek.
      I’ve noticed no loss of power, but I drive the 6 speed manual transmission. Obviously when I decide to shift it’s different than having the computer shift for you. Back story: I drove a 2013 Toyota Tacoma Automatic and I loved the 4.0L engine. I decided on a 2017 Toyota Tacoma in a manual transmission because I didn’t like how the automatic felt under powered and was geared to get better gas mileage. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Hello Jason.
      I do not know California Law, so I can nor confirm or deny that this exhaust in legal. Please click on the link attached to direct your question to MBRP. I do not see why it would be illegal in California, plenty of Californians are use MBRP as exhaust on their trucks and cars. I live in Washington and I have not been pulled over due to an exhaust issue.

      Stryker of Seattle I just bought a white 2017 TRD Off-Road and I was surprised to find out that it had 265/70's as the stock tires, so I think I'm going to just keep them for now and just get all black rims. I am curious if you put a lift on yours, and if so, how much of a lift is it? Thanks

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +1

      Once purchasing the Truck, I had the dealer install a leveling kit (2 Inch Spacer) to give it 3 Inches of lift in the front. Toyota is designing their new tacoma with a 1 inch lift from the factory. Then I had a Add-A-Lead installed in the rear to give it 3 Inches all around. Cost around $500 for parts and labor, call your local shop or dealer to get pricing in your area. In the next week, I'll be installing a Fox 2.5 Resi DSC suspension front and rear. I'll make a video about my current suspension since so many people have asked about it.
      Parts: RevTek 2" Spacer Kit & Toytec Add-A-Leaf

      I have a Flowmaster muffler on mine right now but I am not happy with the sound. I do want the deeper sound as the MBRP sounds. I’m just worried that since it’s a 4 cylinder 3.5L engine that it wont sound the same as the V6

      You must cut the none flanged side (the straight pipe connected the Y-Pipe 13 1/4 inches. This can be done with a hacksaw or a grinder. The official instructions will be within the box. It's a simple install and you do not have to put the truck on a lift to install it.

    How loud is it inside the cabin?

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +1

      Hello C C.
      In the cabin the exhaust is equivalent to having your radio of level 25. In my honest opinion, if your worried about hearing the exhaust in the cabin I would go with another exhaust. If you drive a automatic, this exhaust will be louder than what you probably want. I'll be doing an update video within the next few weeks going over the sound quality overtime. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello C C.
      Yes going deaf would not be worth having an exhaust on the truck. The exhaust is louder than most but will not cause you to go deaf. I would suggest staying away from exhaust if you drive an automatic, as exhaust on automatics do not sound good. And I agree about trying to find an exhaust without hearing it in person.. it's hard with everyone using difference audio equipment.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Fuccod.
      First question, did you purchase the automatic or the manual? I purchased the 6-Speed Manual Transmission so I do not notice any delay in throttle response. I think my opinion might be different as I drive the manual and not the automatic, I choose which gear I'm in where the automatic chooses for you. I believe the 3.5L engine is under powered, and that's why I bought a manual transmission tacoma. If you need more power you can purchase a K&N Cold Air Intake which will boost your tacoma +17 HP. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
