The best sound u can get out of a Tacoma is the intake. Its fricking crazy. Its not annoying the general public either. Rough Country has them for $150 now, with a slip on filter bag if u are in dusty/wet conditions. I have a vid up of mine. Mpg went up over 2 mpg also, easily reversible if u want to change also
@Bros FOURR Speed thats because it doesnt help mpg. it can only hurt mpg. up until wide open throttle your literally restricting the intake on purpose with the throttle body. with that rc intake your now taking in hot underhood air though. really the only time youl ever see a gain with an intake is at wide open throttle and on these trucks theyre minimal
@@123devinzz1 I know, like I said in the above comments, they don’t help with mpg at all. I never expected that or had that impression. It’s mainly for the sound.
Im running a urd catless y pipe with a vibrant ultra quiet before the catback and for the muffler I have a vibrant oval 1102. It's the perfect loudness and growl without any rasp. Used to have a carven catback but that became extremely loud and droned a lot. Current set up is by far my favorite👌
I had a Flowmaster on my last pickup. I loved the sound and the performance. So on my 23 TRD Off Road, double cab 6’ bed I’m having a Flowmaster FlowFX dual exhaust system installed on my truck. It has a Deep Throaty sound and no drone in the cab at highway speeds
Thank you for your video on which exhaust system is best for your Tacoma. I made a decision to go with the Magna Flow System and took advantage of the 20% discount over the holidays.
Love my Magnaflow axle dump on my Tacoma! I used to have a polished tip coming out the side like stock but I hated having to clean it so I did an axle dump with a black tip
I ran Borla and Magnaflow paired with TRD SC, URD longtube headers, K&N intake... Both sounded great,...to anyone planning to have that setup ... If your SC you want a true through muffler , no baffles just fyi from blowing out a flowmaster system
I have a 2016 I went with a flow master super hp2 muffler for 100$ sounds like a V8 at idle and has some rasp nothing crazy and if your just cruising it's quiet and when you get on it it can get louder if your in a garage the sound is so good and nobody is talking about it I have all stock pipes just changed the muffler was all look into it it's a great option if you want to be low key at times and stand out when you want to
I went with a Borla Pro XS 19" and like the sound..a little loud around town and when getting on it for passing and climbing hills/bridges. But at crusiing speed little to no drone.
The MBRP is aluminized steel, so it won’t last as long as 409 or 304 stainless steel. Most exhaust system companies have a lifetime warranty on their 409 or 304 stainless steel systems. 304 stainless steel is the best.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed I agree, I think regearing and a good tune will. I also think a good tune will help without regearing. I just have not found a shop that could customize a tune with what I have in it.
They will really all provide a similar performance. I wouldn't say one is better than the other. But the least amount of sound...the Borla, TRD, Magnaflow (with the quiet pipe installed) are all similar. The AWE is about the same as well, a bit louder but in a deeper tone.
Any catback exhaust on a 3.5 l just doesn't sound like it's worth it has anybody heard of a full kit with a bigger cat or free flowing cat. I just bought a used '01 it has a cold air intake and an aftermarket catback which makes no sense it can take in more air but can't get rid of it any quicker because of the factory cat.
I talked about that, but this is the current and best sounding exhaust for it! brosfourrspeed.com/parts-%26-merchandise/ols/products/awe-0fg-catback-exhaust-with-bashguard
If you look at specs you will see some systems fit either the 3.5 V6 or the 2.7 four cylinder from the cat back. Some companies have not tested their system on a 2.7 so they do not list the 2.7 engine but any cat back should fit, now the thing you have to be concerned with is not buying to big of a pipe. I would stick with a 2.5 inch system and avoid the 3 inch systems for the 2.7 because the 3 inch is to big and you will lose to much velosity in the exhaust system. You are looking for velosity to help remove more of the spent exhaust gases from the cylinders. Borla is one of the few exhaust companies that fully understands this.
Borla hands down, Borla uses 304 stainless steel while almost all other use substandard 400 series stainless steel. 304 stainless steel outperforms 400 series stainless steel in every way. 304 stainless steel costs more but is worth the extra cost from the benefits 3004 stainless steel provides. Also Borla is an excellent company with outstanding technology.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed hope you realize you are just not making noise for yourself. That is being inconsiderate for others. Anyway what are they trying to proof with that or any noise.
@@xurritoalejandro8109 if you are revving up on someone’s front yard I can see that being inconsiderate, but 18 wheelers are even louder as they come from the factory, so a slight increase in a truck is nothing.
@@BrosFOURRSpeed you have to compare apples to apples. You are increasing the noise to a car. Why. You don’t know that there are people who can’t stand the noise factory cars make already?
