      Toyota Tacoma are one of the most reliable trucks on the market, and they keep their value unlike European cars. Good luck with the install if you decided to get this exhaust.

    My cousin's husband had a Tacoma. He said they're great trucks for what they are. Better fuel economy than a full size pickup, that's for sure.

      Hello TheTechCGuy.
      Tacoma are great mid size trucks that retain their value, and they're extreme versatile. I'm please with my tacoma but when I need to tow something or get a load of drywall, I usually use my GMC Sierra. It's a perfect, city truck as well, as most full size trucks can not fit in the smaller parking spaces.

    hi there so after watching this video many times and waiting forever to find a manual taco here in Los Angeles, I went and bought this exact exhaust. I do have to say in person it sounds SOOOO much better. just finished installing it today 3-14-18. and one thing for those that are planning on getting this exhaust
    1. its made for long bed, so if you have a short bed you'll have to cut about 13 1/4 inch of the non-flange side to make up for the shorted. (just follow the listed instructions and you should be fine) thanks for the vid cause I'm a happy customer
    p.s I ordered this from amazon too, and the messed up my order by sending me a solar panel..... I HAVE NO FREAKING IDEA HOW THAT HAPPENED, but I couldn't even be mad that was just too funny lol. they took care of me though, they sent a replacement, and by the next morning it was already here at my house lol

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +2

      Hello BigTurk.
      Finding a manual Tacoma is rather difficult these days as many car manufactures are making more automatic than manuals. I'm very pleased with my manual Tacoma, it drives well and will be putting in a short shift soon (I'll make a video of the installation). Glad to hear that you are happy with exhaust, it's the best exhaust for the money.
      1. Yes, MBRP manufactures their exhaust for the longest length models (double cab long bed). I own a 2017 Toyota Tacoma TRD Offroad DSB, so I cut 13.25 inches as well. The instructions do a good job explaining the process.
      That has happened to me before with Nordstrom, the employee does not look at the item and only scans the bar code. So if the bar code was placed on the wrong item, you will receive the wrong item. Amazon is usually good at fixing those issues.
      Let me know if you have any other questions, glad my review helped you get a general idea of what the exhaust sounds like.

      Ramon Olvera oh I wouldn't be suprised but here in Los Angeles stop and go traffic makes them a once in a lifetime deal haha. and coming from a 91 3.0 4x4 v6 manual i HAD to get manual here too haha

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Ramon Olvera & BigTurk Fred.
      Manual Transmissions are the way to go if you want to change the way your Truck goes over terrain and daily drives. All manufactured automatics are geared to get better MPG, sometimes that doesn't necessarily mean they drive well. By having a manual transmission, you control how the truck drives. In Seattle most people do not know how to drive manuals. For example, my truck was stalled by the service tech because it didn't know how to drive a stick. This was extremely disappointing as the truck only had 500 miles on it. All and all, good luck with your exhausts and Tacoma. I expect to keep mine till Toyota releases a Diesel Tacoma.

      Hello Matthew.
      The exhaust sounds great in person, it really turns heads when you come down the road. What you hear in the video, is exactly the same in person as I used a Canon 80D to record this. Let me know if you have any questions about the exhaust. It's only $210.00 on Amazon so it's an excellent deal for a great sounding exhaust.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  7 лет назад

      Hello Matthew.
      Yes only $210, other exhaust companies are pricing their exhaust from $500 - $1000. The only complaint I have about the exhaust is that it's has a tiny amount of rust on it, but it's to be expected due to be on the underside of the truck. It might be a good idea to coat it with rustolum or an anti rust agent before installing.

    • @mattb7626
      @mattb7626 7 лет назад

      Just completed my purchase on Amazon. MBRP makes some very nice sounding systems, but they don't cater to the long bed market. Im sure you can add a longer straight pipe somewhere, but for the price of this setup it can't be beat. By the way, I ordered my OME BP51 shocks yesterday. Clearly we share the same great taste

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  7 лет назад

      Hello Matthew.
      MBRP does cator to the long bed market, this exhaust is universal to all models. For example, it will fit long bed, short bed, access cab and double cab. Once you get the exhaust it will fit your long bed, because I have a short bed I had to cut the straight pipe 13.25 inches. The BP51 system is extremely nice, my friend just had it installed and he's told me only positive things about it.

      Hello Johnson.
      Sounds like you got a good deal! I thought $209 was a good deal, but $178 is even better. Did you get free shipping with the exhaust as well? The new 3rd Generation Tacoma have less insulation than the previous generation. I owned a 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Sport, and I think the body panels were off better quality then my new tacoma. I will be updating my suspension and installing a K&N Cold Air Intake within the next few weeks, stay tuned for the future videos.

    I have had this exhaust for around a year. Its not worth it in my opinion. It sounds AWESOME, but it drones on the highway and you always can hear it. Driving up a mountain pass with this exhaust is a bear. I used to have to turn my volume up on my stereo to at least 30 in order to cancel out the exhaust noise. When I put my stock one back on I legit thought my truck wasn't on. I can now listen to music much lower!!!! Save yourself the time, money, and hearing lol.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  4 года назад

      Hello MRSNIFFMEFINGA.
      I absolutely agree. The MBRP exhaust does sound good but over time it becomes annoying due to how loud it is. It's great for anything under 40 mph but high way speeds will cause the exhaust to drone. If you want another exhaust, I just installed a Strumung Exhaust on my Tacoma. I will be uploading a sound clip within the next 14 days.

      Yes I can post future videos of the exhaust so you get a better understand of what it sounds like from outside and inside the truck. These videos could be posted within the next two months.
      My opinion of the TRD Pro Exhaust, is that it's not as aggressive sounding and it's just a way for Toyota to charge you more for an exhaust that sounds a small amount louder than the stock. When I bring my Truck in for service, I always get compliments on the exhaust so for $209 its not a bad deal.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Rommel Dela Cruz.
      On average I'm getting 16-17 mpg while commuting, and with the exhaust installed I get about 1-2 mpg better. I recently uninstalled the exhaust because it was simply too loud while daily driving on the freeway, but I miss getting better gas mileage. If you get a cold air intake and exhaust, it'll cancel out the bad mpg that the bigger tires get. If you get bigger tires, I'd suggest going with an all terrain instead of a mud tire, mud tires are louder and you get less mph.

      The Falken WildPeaks are a great all terrain tire. Less aggressive than a mud tire, but has more performance than a standard street tire. Right now I’m averaging 17 miles to the gallon with a manual transmission. The exhaust might help by giving me 1 mpg, if you want better gas mileage add a cold air intake along with an exhaust.

    How is the drone at highway speeds? I have the same exhaust however instead of the full piping from the axle back, I have it dumped just before the axle right out of the muffler. Sounds awesome in the city but drones very badly on the highway. Thanks.

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  5 лет назад +1

      Hello Michael Lichtenfeld.
      The exhaust drones on the highway between 2300rpm-2500rpm and anything over 65 mph. The exhaust itself at high speeds is loud but the droning started to occur when I started driving more on the highway. I usually took the back roads to work so nothing over 45 mph. Some people were talking about how the last bend in the pipe causes the drone but I just removed the exhaust off of my truck. I'd rather having my hearing then drive around with a loud exhaust. The exhaust does sound good in the city, and it sounded great when I drove my manual transmission. I agree with you that it drones, I'll be uploading a long term review of this exhaust within the next two weeks that will go over droning, material problems and why I eventually removed the exhaust. Let me know if you have any other questions. It's the cheapest exhaust and a simply fix would be to get a new muffler if you want it to be quieter.

      Once purchasing the kit, I went ahead and had the dealer put a spacer kit on the front and an add a leaf in the rear. This is what is known as a level kit, accentual it lifts the truck up 3 inch all around so that you can use a 33 inch tire.
      Front Suspension: Revtek Spacer kit ~2 inches (this is placed on top of the OEM shock

      Drone happens between 2300 RPM - 2500 RPM, and anything over 75 mph. I will be doing a review of this exhaust in the next coming weeks when my new camera arrives. There is not huge difference between manual and automatic, only difference is that you can hear the gears changing in a manual transmission. I ended up removing this exhaust because I wanted a quieter ride on my commute to work, it gives you +1 mpg better mileage. Be on the look out for my review of this exhaust cause it'll answer all the questions everyones been asking.

      This exhaust will fit any 2016 - 2018 Toyota Tacoma Accesscab, Double Cab, Short Bed and Long Bed. If you have a long bed you should not have to cut any of the exhaust (double cab long bed). If you have a Accesscab long bed, then you'll have to trim off some of the exhaust peer instructions. Sometimes Amazon does understand the fitment, and if you order from Amazon you can always return it if you're not happy with the product.

      Hello Sasmodog.
      There are four reasons to upgrade your exhaust: Sound, Performance, Fuel Economy and Looks. From a performance stand point, you will gain maybe 5 horsepower as the engine will be able to exit air fuel mixture more efficiently. Fuel Economy, I've noticed that I'm getting 1 MPG better than before so now I get 16.5 to 17 with 33 inch tires. Sound, this exhaust deliverys a deeper tone than the stock. Looks, the MBRP looks better than the stock pipe. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Hello IG243.
      Within the next few weeks I'll be cutting the exhaust and dumping it right over the axle. I've been having an issue with droning on the freeway, and it's caused by the last bend in the exhaust (so I'm gonna cut it off). I do not think it would be hard to do an exhaust dump, just shorten the pipe and see how it sounds. And if you do not like the sound you can weld the exhaust back together. Check out TacomaWorld for a forum that discusses exhaust dumps for your tacoma, I'm sure there will be something on there about it. Let me know if you have any other questions.

This 3.5L engine feels under powered in an automatic, so I choose the 6 speed manual. If you are looking for more power and better fuel economy look into a K&N Cold Air Intake, it's a $200-$300 upgrade. Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Did you have to make any cuts?

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад

      Hello Louie.
      Depending on the truck configuration, you will have to cut a certain amount off of the non-flanged piece of exhaust (exhaust comes in three pieces, non flanged, muffler and the flanged piece that hangs over the rear axle). If you have a double cab short bed like I do, you will cut 13.5 inches with a hack saw or horizontal band saw. All will be explained in the MBRP installation guide. And if you asking if you have to cut anything on the physical truck, no you do not to install this exhaust. It simply hangs on the rubber hangers that the OEM exhaust would normally reside on. If you have any more questions, please let me know.

      I purchased these 285/75/R16 Falken WildPeak AT3 for $145.00 a piece and they've performed wonderfully. Perfect for Mud, Snow, and Rain, I was definitely nervous about these tires when I bought them since I've only ran Duratracs but decided to switch it up. Plus you can not beat $145 a tire, compared to $215 for KO's.

      Hello Vette Man.
      Are you looking some just a foot rail or are you looking to mount rock sliders to protect your truck? I've attached a link to both a footrail that is really popular in my area, and the rock sliders that I had on my old Tacoma. I will not be putting rock sliders or foot rails on my truck as I do not plan on offloading my truck as hard as my last truck. Footrails are a great idea for someone that does not want to "jump" into their truck, my trucks at the perfect height for me to slider into the seat. My girlfriend on the other hand "5'3" has to hop into the seat (after the lift and new tires).

Let me know if you have any other question. A modifications that would cause an engine light / o2 light is if you installed a Cold Air Intake. This exhaust won't cause a warning light and it will not void your warranty.

      Stryker of Seattle , Did you do anything to address the rusting issue?

    • @pentzwerks
      @pentzwerks  6 лет назад +1

      Hello Jkd0629.
      The only way to address preventing rust is to ceramic coat or powder coat the exhaust before installing it. The reason that MBRP makes a 'black model' is because it's ceramic coated and that's why it cost $200 more than this model. Unfortunately MBRP list this exhaust for cheap due to the fact it's a bare material thus being cheaper. I might order the Black Model in the future, or I could sand down my entire exhaust system and ceramic coat it.
      Tip: Ceramic Coat or Powder Coat the exhaust before installing it. Once it's installed it'll be more of a hassle to uninstall it, address the rust issue and you can't get 100% of the rust once it starts.
