I use the Comfort Coated only. Very happy with them. There is no reason to try others I feel. I've tried Feather, RK and Rockwell. Also the Leaf Blades in my Twig.
I do like buying American too. Big plus!!
Interesting blade comparison. As you know, I also did a comparison. Mine was more of a durability comparison rather than a side-by-side comparison. I did 5 daily shaves with each blade using my Rockwell 6S. In my case each shave was close and comfortable and BBS. After 5 shaves I could not discern any difference in the shave performance and results. My conclusion was no difference. The real difference is price. On Amazon the Lab Blues are $16 per 100. The Platinums are $12.50 per 100. When you do the next comparison, I agree with switching sides of your face. I find that I sometimes get a closer shave on the side opposite my dominant hand. Perhaps the angles are slightly different when I do the backhand strokes? Comparison shaves are a lot of fun! Thanks for sharing. BTW, I did some Googling but could not find out what "comfort coating" meant for the Lab Blues.

I have tried both the Lab Blue and Platinum blades in the past. The Lab Blue was pretty sharp and very efficient, a quality that I like. The Platinum was sharp and smooth for me. I like them both, but the Platinum is a winner for me as it has a balance of sharpness and smoothness that stands out for me.

Tough one to call but longevity will go to platinum.
Comfort coated in a Vikings blade godfather Stonehenge is my sweet spot, both head and beard at the same time.
2 passes, with and against and it’s a super smooth result. My search for my favourite combo has finally ended…..

I hate to be a downer, but I grew up in the 1960's when shaving-related ads were everywhere on t.v.-much more commonly than today. All Personna ads pronounced the company name as "per-sauna" not "per-so-na". The double 'n' in the name is also a giveaway.
They're the last remaining U.S. maker of DE razor blades. We owe them the respect of proper pronunciation. Especially since their blades are so good.
I like the Platinum over the comfort coated. It's close, but the Platinum seem to be a tad more comfortable during the shave. I would love to see a comparison between the Personna Platinum and the Bic Chrome Platinum! hint hint. 😁
Agree with JimmyV. I prefer the platinum to the comfort coat but it is close. Would also love to see the comparison with the Bic. (3 favorite blades are Personna platiunums, Bics, and Gillette platinums)
The Comfort Coated is a sharper blade and gets sharper on the second and third shave.

I really enjoy the shootout comparison videos. Being new to wet shaving and trusting your judgement, these videos really help with my SAS affliction. Shaving Acquisition Syndrome. It would be great to see some razor comparisons like the PAA Ascension series. Are the more expensive versions really worth the money?
Nice comparison video. Just an fyi: the Comfort coated is NOT the same as the Lab Blue. The Comfort coated is a more mild blade, similar to an Astra.
Gobble Gobble Mark 😄. Great video. Personna comfort coated blades work great for me. They are my go to blade. As for my go to razor it is the Rockwell 6S and use the 4 plate for the first pass then the 3 plate and finish with the 2 plate. This gives me a great fantastic, comfortable, irritation free shave with no cuts or weepers. I am going to order the Personna Platinum next time I order something from Amazon. Also going to order some Space Nog when The Shaving becomes available. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving. 🦃🦃🦃
Bill, I don't have any inside baseball, but it's likely that The Shaving would be available on Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Last year, it was Cyber Monday. Thanks for the kind words and let us know how you like the Personna Platinums.

I may have to try this comparison myself. The Platinums [older, Israel-made] are among my favourites, but I haven't used one for few months. I'm currently using a Lab Blue and have been getting a fair amount of feedback (might be a dud blade), so my current impression is that the Platinums are better. A side-by-side with fresh blades may be in order.
I just shaved with the Personna Platinum (German Blue) vs the Personna Platinum (Israeli Red), and I found the Personna Platinum (German Blues) provided a smoother and more comfortable shave!
I’d love to see the meta 4. That’s my daily driver and I’m looking for new blades.
Great video! I use a Baili BD179, a very inexpensive but well-built razor which looks awfully similar to the Viking Chieftain razor. Since Baili is an OEM manufacturer, do you have any idea if they supply to Vikings Blade?

So, I've shaved with the Original Chieftain design, the Bali rebrand design, and now use the newly designed Chieftain razor.:)
The two Chieftains I use in this video (The Chieftain and Chieftain Odin) are the newest designs and deliver a wonderful smooth, efficient shave. My guess is, the new razor heads that the Chieftains sport are an outgrowth from their adjustable razor series.

Now that you've given the Personna Platinum a slight edge over the Comfort Coat, how does the Personna Platinum compare to the Gillette Platinum? I may pick up a 100-pack of the GP made in Russia before they disappear forever.
I just bought Comfort coated(says on the box), but the actual blades say Platinum. Must be exactly the same blade. Must be a Marketing Scam
They are fake copies of the original Personna Made in USA. The orginal has a royal blue wrapper. The real ones are now called Accuthrive. Becareful what you put in the Razor. No idea about the Platinum Personna.
The Platinums are the former Israeli Personnas. Edgewell moved machines and therefore production (or most of it) to Wilkinson in Solingen (Germany).
The comfort coded blades are the nicknamed "Lab Blues".
The Accuthrive are the Personna Med Preps. Those were sold by Edgewell within the Personna Industrial branch which is now called AccuTec. The Personna Personal Care branch remains with Edgewell.
