  • Trying out a new Safety Razor today from a company in Pennsylvania and the razor is made in the USA. Here is the info from their website-
    “This safety razor is Made in the USA with 100% marine grade 316 stainless steel, CNC machined for a lifetime of incredible shaves. It is made with care and precision by a small family owned machine shop in Pennsylvania.
    The geometry of the razor allows for a mild pressure sensitive shave, creating a closer shave with reduced risk of cuts. The rigorously tested design has a thick ergonomically shaped handle, which is the key to providing the right pressure for the smoothest shave and more comfortable grip compared to other razors. The perfectly weighted and balanced handle and precisely placed knurling allows a secure grip for wet hands.”
    Tech Specs-
    * 100% Marine Grade 316 Stainless Steel
    * Total Height: 4 inches
    * Head Length: 2 inches
    * Head Width: 1 inch
    * Total Weight: 3.75 ounces
    * Made in the USA

    This is the kind of product I wish I had known about before I spent all my money on 20 other razors, vintage and modern, which now comprise my collection. I would have put up the money, gotten this, and stopped there. Looks very cool.

    I wanted to personally thank you for uploading these videos. I recently switched form a cartridge razor to a DE setup. I went with a Van Der Hagen kit from wal-mart. I noticed the factory blades that came with the kit were really "pulling" on my face when i shaved. I ordered a sample kit from amazon with some Astra superior platinum, Feather, Gillette platinum, Kai stainless, Personna platinums and wilkinson swords. I tried our the Astra's earlier tonight and WOW they were SOO much better then the Van der hagens. I can't wait to try the others.

    I had to shave my mustache. My sweet bride and I just celebrated our 50th anniversary on Saturday and since she didn’t like the stash I shaved it off as an anniversary present to her. But, I had prostate surgery last month. No cancer, just BPH that I was tired of dealing with. I texted my photo with the stash to all my friends and reminded them about getting checked. The America razor is tempting, but I love my Rockwell too much. I love those ‘65 Mustangs. Mom had a dark blue with a 289 and three on the floor. She had foot surgery and swapped cars with me for two months since my ‘57 Chevy had a powerglide. That was two very fun months. Nice shave today, stay safe my friend.

      I'm glad I read this! I didn't think about that! Not sure I want to pay $80 for it, but I don't really want to buy something cheap from China that will break. I only use like 2 razors a year. I bought two Dorco kits in November 2018, broke the handle and razor last year, so I had to go get some disposable ones.

My family owned a water utility business and with a 4 speed on the floor I would read water meters it. I my dad sold the company over 20 years ago, but I still own the car. Nice video. This razor seems very good. I only have a Muhle R89 which is a mild razor. Would like to get another razor some day that is more aggressive like this one. A bit scared but not too much since it's not like a shavette/straight razor. I just have some spots and 1-2 moles which can be cut open so gotta be a bit careful. With the R89 I can be very care-free but it can still cut those bumps open.
    I enjoy your chatter about life and various subjects. Like the "getting old/old man" thing lol.

    So… 8 months later. I went to the wetshavingclub’s website and checked out the product description.
    It’s described as having a “mild to medium shave” with a blade gap of 0.016”
    I wouldn’t imagine they’ve changed anything since November but it’s interesting you’ve experienced such a seemingly aggressive shave.

      I’ve been wet shaving for almost a year now.
      The only shave soap I have used thus far has been Van Der Hagen which I like; its good match with my skin.
      I would like to have another choice to change it up.

      What would be your recommendation ?

    I like the looks of that razor, my main razor is a brass karve so not sure where I’d keep this one but might order one anyways

    Great shave, Ken. Gotta say, that goatee actually takes a few years off your face, man. You a fair bit younger 💪🏼 Not that it in any way affect the coolness, of which you already have plenty in my book.

    Looks like a well built and solid razor. I know everyone will be like wow it has a magnet, but QShave have had a magnetic base in their Parthenon for a long time. It’s Chinese though so won’t get any love.

    Great shave. At a price of $90, it’s a little bit cheaper than other high end razors like the Karve, Blackland and Timeless razors that wet shavers spend hundreds of dollars on. I might be sold on it for its price and performance. I’m halfway through No Shave November, and may these last 15 days of that month pass by swiftly till I get back to wet shaving

      For marine grade 316L this is a bargain. I wish Karve offered a marine grade option, 303 is not nearly as robust.

    You have mad skills. Did you convert your garage into a paint booth? I always wanted to learn to paint cars.
    Try to work out a deal with your son to get that xmas stuff out of the attic. In another decade you can just leave the decorations up year round!

    Ken, Great shave. Looks like a great razor, that will mow down the thickest of whiskers. How is the smoothness of the Merica razor, versus the Rockwell 6S. Also, which plate do you use, when shaving with the Rockwell 6S.. The best!

    Awesome shave Ken! I love Proraso Green shave soap and
    aftershave. The razor seems very efficient, but I don't care for matte finishes. Have an awesome day!

      I would use a Feather. I’ve used one in a R41 which is more aggressive than this one in my opinion

    Hey Ken how do I shave my neck if it’s almost a 90° angle from my jaw bone to my neck. I try pulling and stretching and it’s still not enough to get to it. I get in grown hairs so bad from everything I’ve tried so I just grow my beard out but I want to get back into shaving. Your videos are great by the way! I’m 21 so I’m trying to decide how to go forward with shaving without scarring my face.
