The Kevy Wheels are turning!...AND....lol...and a perfect shave as always. It's the cold Scottish water rinse that makes the sifference.! ;)
This is my very favorite razor! I have the matte stainless model with the newer cap & plate. I use Gillette Nacets or a corked Feather blade. Great for face and Superb for head shaving! For me, it’s the perfect level of aggression and efficiency.

Nice shave Kevy. I love my Rocca. I tried the Ikon Tech and the B1 Standard. The Tech feels more aggressive than the R41 and the hybrid comb of the R41 slightly irritated my neck. The Rocca feels just a bit smoother than the B1 with less blade feel. The Rocca is my new daily razor and I love the birch handle. The Rocca feels so smooth but efficient. I might break down and get the matching brush I like it so much. The handle is a bit lighter than my Ikon OSS but I think that's a good thing. The Rocca replaced my Ikon Shavecraft #102 slant that I used for years. My first newer razor (I still have the older Gillette's) was the Merkur Vision that I still use for a single pass when I forget to shave for a week or over a winter. Thanks for the videos.

Thanks for info on Rocca head emailed them to see if I can get new style base plate as I have the old style which I found not pleasant shave not mater which blade combo oh I great shave as always

Used my Rocca, all stainless for the first time today. Executive shaving soap and new Executive Shaving's G4 ultimate brush. The soap and brush were great, especially the brush! The Rocca razor with free Mulhe blade was good but no lather channels so had to be rinsed each time under a running tap to clear it rather than just swilling it in the sink. It's not as good as the Outlaw. Also had small red spot under chin by my jaw line. On close inspection I could just see the black of a bristle in it. I got a needle and eased it under the hair. I was amazed to find that the hair length when pulled out was about an inch and a half that had grown into my face!! ☹☹😲😲 .Take care and stay safe mate.

Hi Kevy, I have the Rocca with the new baseplate, and use it with a Gillette Silver Blue , it’s my favourite razor of my 3, the others are a 34c and an R41, sits nicely in the middle and is really smooth.

Enjoyed the shave Kevy. I have Treet blades, but they are carbon steel instead of stainless. They are very nice EXCEPT, you must remove after every shave and dry them. Otherwise, the will begin to rust.
Kevy I got the new head, it's the v3. I bought it recently. And to me it still gives a harsh shave. You need to bring the handle closer to your face so you will get a more smoother shave. And the Treet Platinums are my favorite blades. The orange and white rapping. Smooth and efficient and they last. I can go 12-14 shaves with one.
I loke this head better than the last one. The Treet blades are good. Kevy 👍

Bought a Muhle Rocca with the latest head a month ago. Started wet shaving about 3 months ago. This is honestly one of the smoothest razors I have in my growing stable. The Rocca plays very well with Gillette Platinums and even Personna Reds. No issue. I do find the platinums somewhat smoother than the reds. But either way, the razor is wonderful. Smooth as butter.
Is it stainless steel or only handle is stainless? I'm contemplating between this and game changer 0.84

We buy razors, and talk about the quality of the shave. However I may buy the Muhle Rocca just based on the beauty of it, and the quality of materials used in its manufacture. In short a work of art.

Good evening Kevy! I do like those Ever-Ready brush replicas; very nice indeed. Your Muhle Rocca is beautiful and I coveted it and wanted one just like it. However, the shave reviews discourage me from buying. Add to it the abysmal customer service from Muhle USA (they seemed bothered with my attempts to order) and I just forgot about buying one until the problems with supply and shave were sorted. IMHO, part of the issue with shave quality has to do with blade rigidity. I find razors that support/lock down the blade provide a better/smoother shave. The ATG pass tells the tale...if there is chatter or the blade bits constantly...then it is going to be a rough shave. Anyway, I followed the thread on B&B about the Rocca version 4, reading with interest everyone's comments, including yours. Kevy, you might use a bit too much soap, but your lather is superior to most I see. I am always envious. Taking your time building the lather does ta few things: Hydrates the whisker shaft (swelling it and making it softer) for easier cutting, removing the skin debris, and lubricates the face! Your way gives a better result. I like that audio feedback, you can hear that blade cutting. I am glad you had a positive experience with Muhle and with the Rocca version 4. Do take care, Mr. Parr.
Hey Todd. I read the comments about the V3 and while my razor didn't experience any of the issues that were talked about, I felt there was a bit of blade feel although it never felt rough. The V4 is an improvement and the design of the base cap does seem to clamp,the blade firmly in place. I wish more sshavers would concentrate on building a lather and adding enough water to make it work properly. I understand it does work so,e ways but if you dial a lather in just right, it takes the soap to mother level. Just my opinion of course! Have a great weekend. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 I might purchase the Rocca v4...just like yours...if Maggard razors sells it. Kevy, you optimize your soap into one of the best lathers around. It is a good thing. There are other ways to use it for sure. Everyone has a preference. Just as a reference, your is above any professional lather and since you use a better quality soap, your will feel more luxurious. Heck, we used Campbell's liquid for the lather machines and Stephans and Mevy puck soap for lathering a brush. Trust me when I say your lathers are superior.
Are your lather building skills transferable to the making of meringue?
I ordered those shaving things that I told you about. I am waiting for them to ship.

Did you see Captain Tom Moore yesterday on TV? He was celebrating his 100th birthday and he's raised over £30 million for the NHS. A Spitfire and Hurricane flew over his hometo celebrate him being 100 years old. Very cool. Kevy 👍

Great shave and it looks like a nice shaving soap. I'm new to using shaving soaps. So I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. But does the shaving soap just get dry again, for the next use, after you've used it and gotten it all foamy while it's still in the container? I ask because everytime I see a shaving soap video, they're just getting it wet inside the container instead of taking some out into a bowl.
I rinse the soap after I use it so there isn't any residue lather left in there, then I leave the tub upside down with the lid off for a day or two to make sure it's completely dry. You can scoop a little out and make the lather in a bowl if you don't want to get the soap wet, there's no right or wrong way. Cheers. Kevy 😀👍

Anyway I wanted to say that Peter is of Greek origin and one ingredient he puts in his soaps is stragisto giaourti, that is Greek yogurt. I bet you didn't know that. 😁 well anyway nice vid, again! 👍

To answer your question, there was alcohol in your splash. I've noticed that you seem to no longer go to the witch hazel before the aftershave in many videos.
I don't feel it's needed if I'm using certain post shave products. Cheers. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 I stopped using balms in addition to aftershave splashes awhile ago. A good aftershave has plenty of oils (as do the shave soaps and creams you rub in). The only time I'll use an aftershave balm is when I'm going to spray on an edt or edp a a half hour later, or will be heading out into cold weather soon after the shave. I still use witch hazel if the aftershave splash doesn't contain it. Some famous designer aftershaves like Joop has witch hazel in it. Surprisingly, the Aramis aftershave splash doesn't. It does have a bit of menthol and is longer lasting than quite a few edt's out there.

Nice shave Kevy! New to DE shaving, using wilkinson sword classic(black plastic one) really nice for startets like me, just wanna ask you, when is the best time to go for some new better razor and which one do you reccomend, thanks!
Its really up to you to decide. Some say you're best to stick with one razor until you get used to it, others will say just try as much as you can afford to. I always think its nice to try a couple at the start. You might think one razor is just ok then try another and that one will be much better. I would recommend trying out a Parker Variant. It's an adjustable razor and it will let you try different levels of aggression in your shave without having to buy lots of different razors. Start on the low settings then when you feel more confident, try a higher setting. Try lots of different blades too. Let me know how it goes. Cheers. Kevy 👍

The new head is better than the old one. Send Muhle an email and tell them you have the old head but you feel it's too aggressive. They might send you one of the new heads. That's what I did. Kevy 😀👍

How do you find the Simpsons brushes Kevy? Do you have any in your collection that you have used?
I have a Simpson's Chubby 2 in super badger. Simpson brushes are great but they are expensive and some feel that a lot of the synthetic brushes have pushed them aside. Synthetic brushes are excellent and are so soft and are easy to care for, but I still like the tradition and heritage of Simpson brushes so I'll always have them in my shave den. Kevy 👍

How would you say the 7 Days compares to the platinum?
On the same factory, same blade theme. Would you think the same of Gillette, Lord, or Persona, who have shed loads of blades?
Do you remember when Nick Shaves tackled the subject, after a viewer said that they had conclusive evidence that all the Rapira and even Voskhod were all the same, but in different packages? Nick put them all under the microscope and showed how they have different edges.
I remember that video Nick Shaves did with those blades, yes. That's a great deal for those blades Lee. I think the 7 Days felt smoother than the platinum blades and maybe a touch sharper. It felt like a perfect match in the Rocca. Cheers. Kevy 👍
I think your favorite part of the shave is my least favorite. When you know you have to lather down to the collarbone like I do, with the resulting mess it causes, one just wants to get on with it. I have to clean lather out of my chest hair (I never wear a shirt when shaving) and those small hairs (and skin) at the bottom of the neck near the collarbone are very sensitive, especially on the third pass. I also have to do a few strokes on the bridge of my nose, sides of the eyes and top of the cheekbones. Add loads of strokes directly under the nostrils with a trim of the ear hairs and too mucn time lathering is not my thing. I much prefer the application of the aftershave lotion to see how much it soothes the skin on the neck.

@@kevyshaves4109 I shear my chest hairs every few months with electric clippers. and still use a Gillette Atra twin blade for back and shoulder shaving every other month. Since you don't show much below the neck, why bother using a t-shirt when you shave in the videos? I don't think I've ever taken a shave in my life with a shirt on!

Got one of the early Roccas, no alignment problems. My own experience its harsher than R89, but not as beasty as R41. Am not using the Rocca that often. The plastic washer why do y use it with modern razor? Understand some (like me) use it with vintage razors, reducing tensions, cracking old handles. Cheers.
