    I'm 5'10 190 athletic build, I typically wear a large. I was looking to layer my existing kuiu ultra kenai insulated jacket with this piece. Do you suggest I upsize to an xl? Thanks.

      You're kind of inbetween. I'm sure either one would work, it just comes down to how you like the fit. Either on the tighter side or the looser side.

      Thanks, I definitely prefer things to be a bit more form fitting. Appreciate your suggestion.

    Do you have the Sitka Jetstream jacket too? Which one do you prefer? I do elk and whitetail hunting in southwest Montana (Bitterroot range). I’m looking for the lightest, quietest jacket that is still water and wind resistant.

      The Stratus will be more quiet!

    What about water? My gear now will keep me dry for about 4 hours with moderate rain fall. I’m in oregon, most of the time the weather doesn’t get below 30* for elk, but it is a good 90% chance that it will rain for deer and elk season

      Have you looked into the jetstream. It's meant to be a layer piece and it will keep you dry. It also has pit zips, which can be nice if you want to air out. www.blackovis.com/sitka-jetstream-jacket

    I’m 6’5 210 and I would be wearing this as an outer shell over layers out I probably need the xl?

      Kendall is 6'5" and 200 lbs. He could wear a large but sizes up to an XL for extra length and room for layering.

    Thoughts on beat uses for the stratus vest? Was hoping you would have hit on the vest in the video as well

    • @BlackOvis

      The vest is going to excel as a layering piece, especially when it not quite cold enough to need a full jacket. Vest allows you to add warmth only on you core, when that is all that is needed. Thank you for the feedback!

    What temperature would you say the stratus would work in.

      Everyone is gonna be a little different. On the safe side, around freezing would work.

    For late season. What do you wear under it say if I had the top and bottom stratus get up, and wanted to continue to use it. Base layer wise?

      Kendall often uses a merino bottom and if it's really cold you can always throw a Midi bottom under or a pair of sweats! Under the jacket you can use a Stratus vest and a Midi Jacket!

      I hunt down to 10° in the Stratus.
      I wear Merino tops and bottoms
      Core light weight long sleeve
      Fanatic hoody
      Equinox midi pants
      Celsius Midi jacket or Equinox hoodie
      Stratus bibs
      Status jacket
      Merino skully
      Stratus beenie
      Once it gets into the single digits I will just wear my merino tops and bottoms with Fanatic hoody
      Fanatic bibs and jacket and beenie.

      We can't tell you for sure, if you would like extra length we would recommend the large, plus it is a layering piece so bigger might not hurt.

    I’m trying to tell if it would pick up burrs and stuff or not mostly planning on bow hunting Michigan with it but was going to take it out west as well

    • @BlackOvis
      @BlackOvis  2 года назад

      You do have potential to pick up burrs but they wouldn't be extremely hard to pic out!

    • @caydenrobson
      @caydenrobson Год назад

      I might be a year late, but if you’re still wondering I bought the 2020 model jacket and bibs and it definitely picks up burs but the majority of them you can brush off with your hand
