VA. I hunt the suburban parks outside DC in Fairfax County VA. My season is early September through mid February. This is the setup I’ve decided to go with along with the stratus bib. Your videos were very helpful in my research process. I am in my early 40’s and this is the first time I’ve upgraded my hunting clothes since I was in my early 20’s. This setup along with the fanatic hoody should keep me good all season. Thanks for the videos. Very helpful.
I like to hunt a lot late season. In wi I have had to bow hunt in temps down to negative temps. Coldest I’ve ever hunted was -38 which was completely insane but paid off with a 170” 12pt I’ve run a dream season pro suit with merino wool liner it’s stupid warm but just starting to look into Sitka to add warmth. I think the fanatic vest is the way to go over the top with adding the fanatic bibs
Thanks for the video I have the equinox hoody I have Stratus pants, Stratus, coat, fanatic, coat and fanatic bibs, and obviously all the hats and gloves to go with them. I’m getting ready to order the Stratus bibs and fanatic vest and the mountain ops bino harness
Great video like always. I would like to see you do a video on how you wash your Sitka I know it will shrink big time if you throw it in the dryer any tips would be helpful. Live in Ohio to where the fanatic vest keeps me warm in the end of November
Additional plus that I don't think I heard mentioned: as a lefty, I was disappointed to know they discontinued the lefty fanatic. Although probably not a big deal for some, having the jacket set up for a righty would drive me nuts. I'll probably just get the vest and toss it over my Stratus...problem solved. Thanks for the vids and your posts in the Facebook groups. They have been really helpful when choosing what to get. Your advice on the Stratus bibs over the pants swayed me....they are awesome. Oklahoma
Hey guys, I live in western pa. And was wondering what y’all thought I should get for a mid layer/outer layer. Debating between Sitka fanatic vest, Kuiu super down LT vest, and a Patagonia down sweater vest. Focus is obviously warmth, some wind resistance, fabric is quiet when moving, and features. Most of my hunts will be out of a tree stand
I’m debating getting fanatic vest vs jacket. I have stratus jacket but do get cold later season. I guess I’d rather just carry in one piece of clothing rather than stratus jacket + vest
Really great videos. Definitely the best, most comprehensive Sitka reviews online. I've got a ton of this stuff from waterfowl to big game to whitetail, but I've found myself watching your videos on things I already have just because the videos are so well done. I actually learned something new a few minutes ago about the Stratus bibs which I already have. Had no idea about the velcro inside the waistband to cinch them tighter. So thanks for that. I'm in TN and have been eyeing that Ol' Smoky hat myself...
Thanks for this. Getting into Sitka this year and was convinced to buy a shaket on close out. Would you consider this a similar combo, and if so, would you put the shaket under or over the stratus jacket?
@@fieldseriesreview Where is this video, I wasn't able to find it on your channel. Thinking of layering under the stratus without restricting movement. thanks and great videos
Love the idea of this setup, but what layers would you recommend running as bottoms to stay warm instead of the Fanatic? I hunt Wisconsin, where hunting below 0 is not out of the question.
This set is for people that hunt mainly in the 30’s and want an add on option when the temp get into the low 20’s. Wisconsin and hunts 20’s to 0, skip this setup and get the Fanatic or Incinerator set.
From PA. Would wearing a Fahrenheit vest/jacket under a stratus/fanatic work and still keep you quiet? Have a couple layering pieces for waterfowl, wondering if I can get the Sitka outerwear for whitetail and use my waterfowl gear for double duty and still stay quiet?
I’ve got the stratus bibs and jacket. I also have the fanatic hoody and equinox pants. Think I would need another hoody underneath the stratus or will the fanatic hoody get the job done? Coldest I hunted was 26ish this year
I would say throw a Celsius midi over top of the fanatic hoody and you’d be pretty good. Also invest In a good base layer. First lite makes some really good merino base layers
I use the stratus vest and celcius jacket and i wish i went with the midi, but otherwise i love the combo. Its cheaper than this combo and i literally just sat 5 hours in 32 degree temps today and was warm all day
I live in northern wisconsin where the temp at the beginning of the season can be 90 and the end of bow season can be negative 20. The core lightweight tee, fanatic hoodie, celcius jacket, stratus vest, heavyweight bottoms, and stratus pants is my go to combo that keeps me warm all season down to about negative 10-20 degrees
Matthew Hunter do you feel like that many layers is too bulky? I’ve been thinking about doing FL Furnance, Fanatic jacket, celcius midi and then stratus.. but not sure if that’s too bulky for tree stand
@@flipsyde8897 the celcius midi is more so ment to go under the stratus. You could do first lite furnace, celcius midi than stratus vest or jacket without the fanatic jacket. Or you could do FL furnace and just the fanatic jacket.
Do you think it would make more sense to run the fanatic vest under the jacket? I’m not sure if you would get the insulation benefit with the vest outside of the jacket since the jacket is windproof. I know the vest is windproof as well but having sleeves would keep all the heat from the insulated vest on the inside. Just a thought, anyone else have any ideas?

North Carolina . I enjoy your videos keep them coming.
MN. I've been eyeing up this combo for a while. Just got the stratus, appreciate the vid!
Pa just bought the stratus jacket and pants and this video helped me make the decision for the jacket. Thanks for the post

Wisconsin! You helped me with decision making on what to get for my sitka system! Great stuff
Great combination

Found this out off your comment!
I run that combo a lot. Warm. Flexibility for bowhunting.
Never thought about this set up. Might start now, kentucky
I'm from Florida but moved to OH for trade school. That combo would come in handy i get cold easy haha
I'm from North Carolina but do a lot of hunting in Ohio. That combo would be great in late November to early December.
Nice review thanks! how big are you and what size fanatic vest did you get?
MO. Great video

Fanatic Hoody, then Shacket , then Stratus is a great system to get you into the 30’s.
Another great review, from Pa here
Is it possible to wear an XL Fanatic jacket over a large Stratus jacket?
Love the videos. New York
What sizes are you running in both garments? Did you have to size up for the vest? Thanks for the video - been considering this combo.
I wear an XL in both. I have a video about sizing up coming soon

How I wear it love that combo
Thing is it starts out at 28 degrees and even if it warms up to 45 but takes all day to get there

I use to run it like that but I realized how much I liked the kangaroo pocket of the fanatic series. So I run the vest on top, plenty of warmth.
