    Folks can say what they want about Sitka. I grew up hunting in cheap boots and Walmart camo. Yes, I was more than able to kill deer in it, but I experienced a lot of discomfort from the cold and heat as well. This past season, I decided to invest in Lacrosse, Sitka, and a few pieces from Badlands. For an avid bow hunter, I can hands down say that it is incredible gear, and has made my hunting experience much better. Take the time to shop around, and you can find substantial discounts on their products. Just my opinion though.

      Yep. I got the Sitka bino harness on sell for 120 bucks. Best Buy ever. I’ve tried 5 of the other top brands when it comes to harnesses and they just don’t compare at all. As far as cloths when you wear that cheap stuff you just get cold. It doesn’t stop the wind and after 3-4 hrs your so froze it’s hard to get a shot off. I like Sitka because of not only the warmth but the design. I remember seeing the camo pattern for the first time and immediately had to find out what kind it was. This was a long time ago before they blew up. Even when Mathews came out with the Sitka colors. I had to get that bow because of that. Again this was before I found out it was Sitka. So I didn’t jump on the band wagon because of others. I just simply loved the design.

    I’m 56 and started hunting when I was 6 with my dad and family. We hunted from squirrel season to the end of rabbit season. August to march. I have spent thousands on crap hunting clothes. After starting to elk hunt out west several years ago I realized Walmart clothes were not going to cut it. After researching and trying things from the big 3 I settled on Sitka. Fit, comfort, quality and function is worth every penny. I now probably own around 25 different articles of Sitka in subalpine and EV2 and will never own or need anything else. It’s a investment and if you are a young person, invest and be done.

    Chris you may or may not read this ,but I gotta say man you are the reason i got back into bow hunting. I had tommy john surgery and destroyed my elbow. After surgery i pretty much gave up on drawing back a bow. Started watching your channel and missed doing it. So I started shooting bows and found the pse evlove cams. Being extra difficult to draw a bow and even more difficult to hold one back I loved the 90% left off of the cams really feels gotta take my first buck with it last year. I can honestly say living in iowa and not deer hunting is kind of odd here. But thanks to you and your channel I will admit you are the man that made me get back into keep up the good work. Happy hunting this year since you dont need luck when you shoot as well as you. Thank you!!!!

    Thanks for all the information in this video! I recently bought my first Sitka products. I went with Fanatic Jacket, Bibs, and Hoodie. Was thinking the same way you mentioned here about using the Fanatic bibs with lighter layers up top when it’s not too cold. So while I was thinking that, the Black Friday sales started so I grabbed a Stratus jacket too. I have a lot of base layer stuff already so I guess next piece will be Stratus pants. Thanks again for the video, it seems my thinking was along the right lines according to everything you said. Hope you have a good rest of the season!

    Hi Chris, I am 72 and have hunted all my life, including whitetail and all upland game living in Indiana and also many trips out west for elk, mule deer, black bear, etc. I have also archery hunted since my early 20's, so for 50 years or there abouts. I love all your videos on bows and other equipment, etc. I am shooting a Matthews Z7 Extreme at 60 lbs and am still a very good shot comfortably out to 40-50 yards. I have had my share of episodes of target panic over the last couple years, and I think your video on that is very good. I shoot a thumb release and am considering switching to the release you shoot, hoping that may help as well. I have also considered switching to a crossbow of course, but still think that is somewhat cheating. I wonder if switching to a new bow like yours this year could help with letoff and other issues? Anyway, I have gone through numerous hunting outfits over the years of course and so much has changed. I used out west and still have a Sitka outfit from probably the 90's when they first come out. I am looking for a new outfit now and enjoyed this video a lot. One thing i did not see you talk about, though, was rain and wet show protection with all your Fanatic and other Sitka pieces. So what do you recommend and use? Thanks.

    Hey Chris (or anyone with sitka experience), I hunt in south Texas where its pretty warm (90+) through the first half of season. I currently have a set of red head camo, but its a little warm for early season as it doesn't have a ton of breathability, and its to cold (45 and below) for late season. I've only worn it for two seasons and there is already quite a bit of fading in my pants. Im a college student and don't want to break completely break the bank. But what would you (or anyone) recommend for early season (something light and breathable) and also late season (something that would keep me warm in 45 and below). I do want to add that I'm hunting on a property with MLD tags and put in 80-100 sits a year so I'm looking at sitka as I know it'll last for multiple seasons without fading like my current set. Thanks.

      Start with the core lightweight hoodie and merino core light weight bottom. This is a great start to your system and a excellent base layer. They are designed to wick away moisture from your skin and will provide some sun protection as well. Then as you build your layers you’ll be able to add warmth, and maintain your sweat (as long as your other layers are breathable too)

    What do you like more. The tool bucket or the fanatic pack. I’m tore between the 2 and it’s a hard decision. I don’t want to pay 209 and regret that I didn’t pay 40 bucks more for the tool bucket.

    Man I've used First Lite for a few years now, never tried Sitka. Is it worth trying out from First Lite?

    How do you keep your boots warm when you are not wearing them?

  • @Rushshooting67913
    @Rushshooting67913 Год назад

    I got all Sitka gear and never and I mean never bought expensive hunting clothes. Most of the clothes I was wearing were old as you k ow what. The trick is wait till after hunting season or for sales. I picked up my jacket, pants and base layers for less than 500. Expensive yea but I don’t plan on buying any hunting clothes for years. Guys go out and buy a 2000 dollar bow or a 2000 dollar rifle and cheap hunting clothes. They have definitely made a difference in warmth. Best clothes I’ve bought. Also bought some nomad clothes they are great to. Sportsman’s warehouse had 60-70 percent off after hunting season last year to make room for this years new products. Just have to look around and be patient.

    This is not Sitka related at all. But I wanted to ask because I’m really looking into getting the Mathews V3 27”, but my draw length is only 24.4 & Ik the min draw is 25. Are there any mods that I can get to take it down a little more without having to get different cams? I was looking at the prima, but the 30” is what gets me because the bow I have now is 28” and that’s what I’m comfortable with.

      If you mean axle to axle length the 2" wont make a differece having your draw legth off .5" is way more detrimental. A longer ATA is generally more accurate
