This was the best switch I've ever made in my hunting years. I've made a large investment with nearly the entire sitka line from big game to whitetail line. Do you need it? No.. is it a game changer? YES! This system is of gear that will make everytime in the woods a better experience. I cant say enough how its built for warmth and being the ultimate predator.
The elements of the "cold weather set" presented in this video align about 90% with the treestand set I recently put together. I'm glad you confirmed my choice :)
Excellent review john. I hunt mostly the late season for whitetail and strictly use the fanatic set. Everything you said about the fanatic, you are spot on. The only thing I might do alittle different is use a heated vest under the jacket when the temperature dips. You are so right about the neck gaiter and beanie unbelievable how warm that keeps you. I wish the stratus jacket had the side zip with the kangaroo pouch.
Steve, we are happy to hear the Fanatic System has worked well for you. We appreciate the feedback and will be sure to pass along to our product team.🤝
I definitely wear my fanatic vest more than I do my jacket. I typically wear the Kelvin Aerolite jacket with Fanatic vest with Fanatic bibs. Good well into the teens with this set up. Once I get into the single digits, break out the fanatic jacket
Excellent coverage of the best cold weather bow hunting gear made. Just wish the Stratus system was waterproof. Our weather never gets anywhere cold enough for the Incinerator system and the Thunderhead system is not ideal for bow hunting.
I cant tell you how many bucks ive missed or made bad shots because of contact with my sleeve. Once i heard about sitka, i bought the fanatic right away. And havent looked back since. Its expensive ,but its an investment imo. It will last you years and years if you take care of it.
I’m sold from the quality point of Sitka. I want to purchase the Fanatic Hoodie, Bibs and Vest (and possibly jacket) to start with it but I want to try it on for size. Hardly anyplace in Oklahoma to do so. Went to Cabela’s OKC and they had hardly any Sitka selection. They told me to go to Bass Pro OKC and they don’t even stock Sitka.
Reach out to customer service and they'd be happy to help with any sizing questions you may have. Or you can find the closest retailer near you here: www.sitkagear.com/retail
Yeah Cabela's was surprisingly terrible with Sitka inventory, maybe strategic to push their instinct which, my local non chain store D&R sports that's like a micro Cabela's had a big stock of everything Sitka. For sizes you should mostly lean towards up sizing it seems. I'm a large in most things but sometimes need XL, I can fit the large but was tight and couldn't layer which is my current cheap gear issues. I started with Stratus bibs & Jacket and a fanatic vest all in XL and will layer with thick merino and polar fleece layers here in Michigan (I'm 6ft muscular build with some extra waist, 36 pants size)
Genuine question, I’m sure you have lots of hands on experience, but why not go with the incinerator set to reduce bulk, eliminate the need of separate rain gear, and then just adjust under layers accordingly?
Shane, great question. The main concern with moving towards an Incinerator only system is noise and insulation. The Fanatic system is designed and built for close quarters-- encounters where noise can make or break the opportunity.
I like to run the lite base with the fanatic hoodie traverse jacket and stratus on top with heavy mariano base midi pant with stratus bib i tried on the fanatic system and thought it would melt me just a little to much for ohio
Hey Isaac, the Fanatic fits true to size. We engineer gear with a specific fit and intended end use in mind. These functional designs provide you with authentic garments for the right situation. We can communicate outfit descriptions in 3 different ways (performance, standard, expedition). Keep in mind that each garment will allow for layering in accordance to the garments place in a system and described fit.
Getting dressed warmly is a small difficulty. How to shoot in the cold is the problem. To do this, you need snowboard gloves or mittens. And a special release that no one has. Except me. And the problem is not just to shoot, but to make a high-quality shot.
If you notice the stocking cap he is wearing don’t cover his ears and I find most companies fall short on making the hat actually fit. I wish they would just do the easy stuff well.
The problem I have with synthetic clothing is the fact that it is so bad for the environment. Microplastis are doing so much damage, not to mention the process it takes to make. As outdoorsman, we have to be more aware of the clothes we put on and what they do to the woods we enjoy. Alpaca, wool, and others are much better.
Thanks for sharing your problem. I desperately want you to lecture me more on how my hunting clothes are obliterating the woods. I’m just going to go dump 95% of my gear in the trash and hunt in nothing but my alpaca socks because micro plastics.
@jamesstrickland2707 it's not a lecture, bro. But it is education. Some people take offense to knowledge. Unfortunately, you seem to be one of them. Be a fan boy, don't learn or improve, it does hurt me any. I didn't say dump you hunting gear. I have plenty of gear that is synthetic. I have learned, and as a go forward, I am wiser with my purchases. Take it or leave it, and no one forced you to read the comments.
@twincam103 buy what you can afford and what you feel is right. That wasn't my point. Just because someone does something good doesn't mean there is room to do better and grow. Hopefully, your growth hasn't been capped out already. I have hope for you, bud.
All these videos highlight the Celcius Midi yeT SITKA discontinued it. Glad I bought one before it was too late

We truly appreciate the support, Shane! Stoked you found the perfect system. 👊
The fanatic vest is a very under appreciated piece. It really gives you so much versatility
Stoked you are loving the Fanatic Vest, Rueben. We appreciate the support.

Glad to hear you've dialed in your whitetail system.

I needed this! thanks Boss! Thumbs up
Stoked you found it helpful. 👍
I just purchased the Stratos system and I plan on getting more pieces to fit my hunting style. Thank you for making such a game changing product!
Thanks for the comment and support! Let us know if you have any questions.

do you still wear hecs?

Drive down to Scheels in North Dallas or to the one in Tulsa. They have all Sitka in stock for you to look at.

Only thing I'd say is the bibs get cold at the knees when sitting even with long johns and other layers. I Stay warm other wise that.

@@SITKAGear is the insulation better on the fanatic system?
The Midi pants need full length vents. 100 yard walk in 20* with no base layer and my lower half was soaked.
Thanks for the feedback. Noted for our design team.
@@SITKAGear you guys are awesome! Tall sizes in Stratus bibs too please, with a cherry on top!

Good thing they use merino wool now I’m guessing they were really worried about you buying clothing

Considering that hunters put billions into habitat restoration. I think they can get away with some synthetic clothing....

$4k+ of clothing?
They make millions of dollars selling hunting gear but can't afford a decent microphone 😂
You talk too slow I am bored already
