Advice: always drive a path over and over before settleing in. Then do it again before you sleep. It works well. Put a tarp over the van then pull it off every 4 hrs. It works well. I live in these parts
Those are great ideas.
Valid tips, the tarp idea is excellent advice.
Sure you do…😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"HUNKER DOWN" !!!!
Famous words from Steve Wallis😃
And they did Step #2😅
Step 1: Shovel 5,000 feet of snow....😂
@@marquismaintenance Who doesn’t just love Steve Wallis!!

“Forgetting” your snow pants is a great way to get out of schlepping through that storm.
lol…sounds like a little pre-planned sus to me…😂😂😂
Spoiler alert, when the snow melts they find a pair of women's snow pants right next where the van was.
New girlfriend looks like the old girlfriend. I’m guessing he’s got a type he likes 😂
@ I thought that was the same girl.
Gonna have to remember THAT ONE!
Finally, someone using the only suitable shovel for winter travel. A grain scoop. Most off-gridder's have ridiculous little flat kid shovels. I applaud you 😊
Heart attack shovel. I bet his hands were pumped
Yeah but he didn’t have snow chains on beforehand 🤷🏻♂️ 🤔
Another helpful hint … use a tarp or open a yard waste plastic bag and put it over your windshield. Saves lots of time
Exactly what I was thinking
@@BethSS1.815 tendency to freeze on and come off in pieces though!
are they late for work?
Sold my house in so cal and moved up there that park is about a half hour down the road from me and they get a shitload of snow......Its about 20 outside here and have the woodstove stocked with oak.Nothing beats the silence of living in the mountains...
You sold that house you showed in the videos? Dang…
Lucky lucky ! It's been over a decade since I saw snow and it's not even like the one in this video
That was dumb
👍 cozy fire, stacks of books and art supplies. Perfect winter life.
Stay weather worthy, keep healthy and strong, and you'll live on to survive many more years of challenging storms! Most of all, stay blessed !!😊
Snow is an excellent thermal insulator. One of the warmest, quietest nights I ever spent in a tent it snowed about a foot. Covered everything. I had to make sure the tent remained vented, but even with a bit of fresh cold air coming in, the interior of the tent warmed to 50 or 55F,, and quiet,, utter silence. Didn't even go out the next morning, took the day off and read. Let the sun burn most of it off. Second night just as warm, packed up the next day.
That sounds wonderful… I love the quietness snow brings ❄️
I think Nanook was onto this as well.
Sounds awesome
In your dreams…😂 😂I
A little tip. Don't leave stuff lying flat on the snow. They'll get buried. Stick them into the snow one end down. Also, chain up before the snow hits. Conserve your energy. Get lots of sleep and drink plenty of liquids.
Yeppers. Always. TY
I am SO glad you decided not to go out solo thru the deep snow in a record-breaking storm. SMART! Thank you for not putting clickbait ahead of your life!!! Kudos
Right, and even more shocking was he had decided to leave his snowshoes behind and try to hike up the mountain postholing through the snow. That is ... exactly the wrong way to try to hike in winter. You can't walk very far before getting exhausted. Fortunately it looks like he soon realized what a bad idea the whole thing was and turned around.
As much as she helped he was as good as Solo

@@wildwoodoffgridhomesteadIkr? She couldn't even cook while he was out shoveling and putting the chains on. She waited until he came back in and HE cooked. That would have pixxed me off so bad. And I'm female.
Folks watching, always dig out your tailpipe area in heavy snow. Huge safety concern.
That's what I was worried about. CO2 poisoning.
I don't think they use their engine to heat themselves up. They probably have a diesel heater that has another exhaust pipe or an electric heater.
I would keep metal hose i could attach & run it high
@@ryonakimura56. Still…..for the sake of instruction
@@SpotTheBorgCatYou mean CO, carbon monoxide. Fortunately for me, I use a diesel heater that sits outside my van. I do not run my engine for heat ever. Last winter it was -6F for 6 nights straight and I was very happy to have that diesel heater.
Wow, so nice! I love snow, more then anything. I lived in Venice Beach for 27 years and cant believe that I made it back home to Austria! I just wanted to be in the snow and cold way more then the sun. Great job on everything!
I got stuck in Tahoe Donner a few years back ... more than 6 feet of snow in a weekend just before Christmas. When we shoveled the driveway, we were tossing it out well over our heads. A canyon of snow. Higher than the roof of a Chevy suburban. Snow nearly covered the tops of street signs. Snow covered the windows in the house... a house that was already 3 feet or more off the ground. Beautiful to look at. But an enormous amount of work to shovel. Took more than a day for the plows to show up on our street.
Omg your back. Think half the planet was worried about you. So glad to see you back.
I Love Snowstorms and just staying inside to watch it come down. I must say You're So Brave to go through such an Amazing journey. Congratulations ! You must be in excellent shape to do all that exercise and shoveling. That cannot be easy, I hope that you never overdo it. Thanks for sharing. Take good care.😊
I love a snow storm too but I want to be in a nice, warm, safe house to enjoy watching it.
When Everest says it's the worst winter storm he has ever been through, that's how you KNOW it's bad before you even see it! That was bonkers!!
Lessons learned. Tire chains immediately on arrival. Snow pants checked before leaving. Girlfriend given some things to do. You shouldn’t have to do it all. She should have cooked while you shoveled. But glad to see her at least helping. Edit…I apologize. She did finish the meal while you shoveled.
You always kept a smile up no matter the chore.
You Thanksgiving meal looked wonderful.
Chains well done.
Be safe enjoyed watching you! 💙🕊️
Let the adventures begin! Your extreme winter adventures are always the best. Fantastic video! Stay warm and safe.
Wow! Man, you are a good sport to do all the grunt work, shoveling ALL the snow the ENTIRE time. Get your list together for the next time and check off those snow pants!
That's what he was suppose to do. He went up there to be in the snow for this channel. Digging in the snow is what he does. She cooked, cleaned up, and kept him company. That was her part.
Hello, Everest. You’re back. I missed you. We missed you. I was always checking my notifs for your update. Thank you. And Hello also to your lovely Lady❤
He hiked, shoveled snow over and over, put chains on and now he's cooking? All with a smile on his face...OMG, I can't even imagine someone doing that for me, for us.
Catbee1452 I saw her doing a lot of the cooking 🤔

Eyyyy, you're back! I heard about that storm when it was about to hit the west coast, and thought to myself, "I wonder if Everest is going to get out in there and camp?" AND SURE ENOUGH!!
That was a heck of a storm! It looked like you were nice and cozy in the van and had a very nice supper indeed! Glad you got in and got out!
Welcome back. So great to have you back. Wow that’s a lot of snow ❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️❄️💖🤗
Kudos to you bro. We just got hit with about 4 ft here in Erie PA and it was a struggle to get me and my wifes car out of the driveway. To put yourself in this position and have the strength and courage to get yall out is amazing!
I’m in Atlanta, GA…..this was great to watch! I’d never survive 😂😂😂
Grain shovel for shoveling snow is the only right way to go❤❤❤❤❤
You’re frickin crazy! And you remind me of what I thought was fun when I was your age. Great video and thank you for posting it!
Omg, you’re alive! You’ve been missed.
He’s been busy plowing…but it hasn’t been snow…
That is a lot of snow. I grew up at Lake Tahoe, one winter we were out of school for ten days, we loved it, but we had no power. It was January 1964 near Echo Summit. My mom was going crazy having all of us cooped up in the house, we couldn't see out the windows.
Many great things about your vlog; you’re alive. The last time I watched you there was a very used aircraft involved. Your lovely lady still puts up with your Frozen 🥶 adventures. There is , so far, not Mac n cheese being consumed in a very cramped environment. Ah youth! P. s. It’s really great to view you again. Stay warm, safe ,and don’t let mom nature bite you (2) in da bum😉🦃
When I heard about the storm I instantly thought of you😂😂 I knew you would be out there. That was ALOT of snow! Thanks for taping it and letting us see. Take care☃️☃️
_EPIC_ _BLIZZARD!!!_ _MAN_ _BEAST_ _WITH_ _SHOVEL!!!_
Welcome back!!!!! Just in time for an epic storm!
Wow man. That is just an absolutely ridiculous amount of snow. I feel like I’ve watched at least most of your videos and I don’t think that it’s that often that you actually admit that you’re nervous. This must’ve been a truly incredible amount of snow. And what a workoutwow.
You always forget to put on your tire chains Before it snows. Lol. 😊
You are in unbelievable shape to dig out and still due the narrative while filming.
It's beautiful, same time it's cold out. It very cold here End of Dec still snow ❄️, all the way till Sun Jan 12 th. Temps in teen or 22 for high wind chilly 7 to 4 degrees
Saw your video pop up and had to do a double take 😂😂😂 All is right in the world because Everest is out of hibernation. Welcome back!!! 🎉
Loved this video. Reminded me of being back in Montreal. I do have to disagree with you though. I got out of that much snow many times and never had 4x4 or tire chains back then. Mind you, it snowed like that multiple times a winter and we had lots of practice. Thanks for all the hard work!
That is a FEAST in the middle of a snow storm!!!
I just looked you up yesterday thinking surely I'd missed a post. There's no way you wouldn't be out with this atmospheric river hitting the North West. Glad you are back and looking forward to a great season.
You have a reverse light out. Fantastic video!
Sitting in my living room watching this while 65 deg outside ...... this was awesome !
The irony of your sign hanging from your mirror is not lost on me as you head off into a major snow storm in the Sierra Mountains. Glad you did not meet the fate of the Donner Party in this epic storm!
This time with his girl! Hell yeah. Just watched your other winter storm vid
Great to see you again, you’ve been missed. Hope we get a few more videos now winter is an upon us. X❤️
Great vacation shoveling eating shoveling again
Always carry a 20hp 2 stage snowblower with you with chains on its tires. Get one of those rear bumper racks. And don't forget a snowmobile too. So you will need a slightly bigger bumper rack. And at least 7 diesel heaters because, you know, more is better and stuff breaks. And plenty of frozen pizza, you can store it outside in a snow cave you dug out. And 100 gallons of extra gas for the blower and snowmobile. Get the extra extra big bumper rack. Good to go.
Omg shes so freaking cute 🥰
That's she is
What a m0r0n.
And lazy
@@LailaniMessina2381Nope
Smart idea by not going through that snow. I could tell how exhausting it was to walk through it just by looking at it. Imagine getting stranded outside in THAT!
Was worried about you. Glad you and Erin are back 👍 x
Wow it looked like Donner's Pass but more! You are both brave and strong. Nice of the snowplan man to help you! Stay safe and God bless.
That was an incredible freaking video! I mean, it was like watching a good short movie. I have always loved the snow since I was a child. I would have loved to have owned or even rented a camper like that when I was in my 20s and drove up to Northern California to camp out in the snow. The look on your gal's face was like, this guy is crazy, but I love him.
❤❤ OMG i was just thinking about you haven't seen anything from you in forever. Glad you aren't alone anymore. I know you love snow, and camping in it. I remember that little house you made awhile back in the snow... Safe Travels.🌨️❄️🌨️🥶🥶
Happy Thanksgiving wherever u are. 🦃🦃
You two make an adorable couple. You are perfect for each other, and both are so cute.
Shut up. She'll be with me.
in what way is that couch princess perfect? please explain
Love the adventures you share and wish we had snow like this, but one constant in most of your videos is shoveling! You are a monster
I would never be able to shovel all of that snow . Very impressive 😮
Feel sorry that you had to do all that digging/work yourself. Nice of the snow plow worker to help you out. Have fun and happy travels!
Wow! Non-stop shoveling. Looks like fun.
Omg!!! I'm so HAPPY to see you back again ❤
Wow what a snow ❄️ storm! Loving your videos! 1rst time watching. ❤from Fairview TN 🏞
This was epic. I learned a ton while being entertained.
❤ Happy to see you again Everest, oh and Erin too 👍❤️✨️
I led some kids snow camping near there. We made igloo and saw some trees that were about a foot tall. I came back in the summer and checked the tree height. It turned out we were camping on 25' of snow.
The food looks great!!! Amazing video, great job⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow, she's a lucky gal!
She’s a lazy gal.
Sure she didn't forget her snow pants on purpose?? Cause I would have. She didn't look disappointed about it either.
I guess you should be glad you're not seeing temps like the video i just watched before yours. It was about life and home heating options in Yakutsk, Siberia with temperature around -50° to-60° Celsius. After seeing that, i can't complain about Pennsylvania winters.
That dinner tho! Couple goals
LONG TIME NO SEE. WHY DO YOU WAIT SO LONG TO POST? EPIC SNOW AND YOU ARE THE ULTIMATE SNOW LOVER. I WISH YOU'D PLAY YOUR KEYBOARD MORE AND SING! YOU DO SING BEAUTIFULLY. ALSO HOPE YOUR 'NEW' LOVE LIFE IS GOING WELL. HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YALL. LOVE, JULIE

Wow, awesome adventure. We live less than 2 hours from Lassen, and have yet to do a serious winter camp.
Wow! What a tremendous amount of snow.

I learned so much ! thank you for sharing this experience. I’m from Chicago and I miss the snow. Tuning in from VA. Great Vlog
Dude I love your energy. Great video ❤
Wow that is really nice your camper van..i would love to have something like that 😊
i know this is very random but i flinched when you threw the snowball at 0:38
Well, super cool you got out, you’re safe. I’ll be watching more. Appreciate you sharing well until next time. Peace and chicken grease😁👍👍👋👋😎
Loved the hot water bottle. It's gorgeous 😂😂😂
That was scary to watch!
Glad you made it out safe
Holy cow. It was beautiful however I am amazed you didn't freeze pipes. Thanks for the video. Happy Thanksgiving.
Aww you got matching tights😂
Tip from a New Englander: Don't walk where you will need to shovel. Removing compacted snow takes a lot more energy. I guess this trip was just to attain bragging rights. Was it worth it? "Completely nuts" does kinda describe it. You weren't in danger, thanks to whatever entity plowed the road out. If the van failed or got stuck, you could hitch a ride out.
Your companion on this trip was wise to 'forget' her winter gear!

That sounds fun and crazy at the same time😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The smell of the deep snow in the mountains is unforgettable…..I lived in revelstoke Canada……this is typical stuff. Beautiful!
lol.. when the guy walk through the door.. I figured.. ok... a 25 year old living in a van like that... I can see it for a few years. Then... she showed up and I was like.. hell no! LOL..
I was thinking to do an awning type thing over 1 side of your van, tarp on top then attached one tarp on side more like a lean to, just to help with accumulation aspect. Ya wight of snow will make it collapse at some point but better than nothing.
I love the snow how it matches the height of your van the only thing I moss about this video was the music you edit for the drone shots and the regular scenes thanks 😊 happy Thanksgiving to u and your special someone ❤
glad you guys are back together
I think your girlfriend knew exactly what she was doing when she misplaced her ski pants😅😅
Grow up
Nice adventure! I live in Canada, and have had to deal with lots of snow, sometimes as much as you just did. Everytime I see some youtuber make list the things you need to keep for an emergency in winter, they all for get a good snow shovel! They all have those "tactical" shovels and tretching tools...but they suck for snow. As you show, that snow shovel is worth its weight in gold in getting out of being stuck in snow. Also, one warning about using that sudden stop technique for cleaning your roof...it can also damage or destroy your wipers and/or the armatures for the wipers...so be careful doing that! We have tools for cleaning snow off the roof of taller vehicles, and as we may have to do it all season, it is worth keeping in your vehicle.
Huskies for life 💜
Now that is slick the way to the bed comes down cool I’m here watching Tuesday, November 26 watching now 6:30 PM wow that’s a lot of snow. Stay safe but as long as you got heat, you should be good.👍👍
What an awesome video! Good to see you, again! Stay safe and warm, my dear!
Ah ha!! Name of the park right at the end!! Thanks!! 👍🏻😎👍🏻
Gee this looks like so much fun!
