Get one! I have a 1964 Nova as a weekend car! I recently bought a 2012 Mustang GT Premium as a Daily Driver! Even though I am more of a Chevy guy, I must admit that the coyote mustangs don't disappoint at all!
With no catch can that thing is taking sips of oil for sure . I actually have two air/ oil filters inline and only then do I no longer see oil at the top connector to the CJ intake mani.
Finally saw a guy who has these mods made high hp as I expected. Mine has JLT CAI and long tube 178 ARH made 430 to the wheels (mustang dyno ) when most people are making less hp with boss intake than me !
my car makes 435 hp and 415 torque-using the 18 intake manifold and stock headers-car delete and x pipe-airraid cold air and bbk 85mm tb-tony gonyon tuned-through the untouched stock converter 6r80-on pump gas
steve will good numbers bro mine did 432hp/ 412tq. The CJ start doing work at high rpm’s it’s the best manifold for the 5.0 referring to our star Alex lol
Also note, I ran the tall and heavy stock Brembo 19’s when I had my car on the dyno. Note sure how much of a difference that would make exactly. But I’ve been wanting to try full on FTW.
To answer your question about the stock hellcat, the answer is yes lol. My stick 2012 went door to door with an auto hellcat. And I didn't have cams or e85 at the time

I am kind of worried about losing VVT.. he said that he was running stage 3 cams .. intake was LIMITED not locked and exhaust was not limited at all.. Lund is tuning.. so that sounds like something I would like to go with.. what would be my recommended shopping list to get this done right.. stage 3 comp cams, boss springs, and ??
Itll do fine with 331 with the mt82 it is geared very aggressively. That being said its gonna be better with 373s its gonna spin to 8k it makes tons of power up top needs aggressive gearing to keep it up top and for a better launch. Itll run fine with 331 but 373 is better for this setup
car is a base model, i was planning on going 3.73 but boost might be close so i will stick with the 3.31s for now. Car would be alot more fun with a 3.73
373 for sure if u plan to stay na. These things love rpm ecspecially set up like this so the quicker you can get it to the top of the tach the better and you wont run out of gear because you can now go much faster in 4th turning to 8k rpm
I'm more into high revving euro stuff but these coyotes have the rpm and the displacement. Can you get these coyotes revving to 8k? What is the weak point at 8k rpm?
@@muscleman1437the 18 up gt manifold doesnt hold power above 7200 very well. A boss or cj is better for spinning to 8k especially ported the boss has good gains with porting.
@@midnight347 well I have a 2015 mustang gt with a 2018 manifold ported by 1320 and I make power all the way through until 8100 rpms granted 7800 is peak power but it doesn’t fall of it just hold. You’ll obviously need injectors to support the manifold oh and @doublevanoz realistically you won’t need anything to be constantly hitting high rpm’s not until you start boosting/cams then I would recommend oil pump gears and maybe rods depending how spicy you want to be. In that case just get a gen 2 coyote 👑

Hey there. Great video. I have a very similar setup; CJ Intake, kooks LT’s, 47# inj., hotter coils, cooler plugs, beefed MT82, etc., with the addition of NOx. Planning on going to E85 and 150HP of the spray. So the Boost A Pump is a MUST for that? Was looking to get the VMP Tune.
Yes look on youtube for the 600+ whp boss 302 that turns 9000 rpm. Its technically a road runner engine but u could do the same with a coyote obviously

Yeah man the coyote is no joke... The 2018s will put down 500 all motor, and those parts will bolt up to any coyote... So you dont even have to go aftermarket.
If the cj was ported that's worth another 10-15 whp (I could be wrong)...maybe running a meziere water pump (frees up some power)...Should get close or maybe over that 500 mark...

Yes it is always worth porting anything really lol. It dont cost that much to have someone do it even if you can't do it yourself. If I were running a cj I'd have it ported and run a monoblade tbody to make the most power some guys run the dual bore stock gt500 tbody and that really holds them back. To see the gains from a cj that are possible with it you need all the air = mono blade tbody. If you're gonna go through the trouble and expense doing a cj dont castrate it by running a restricted small dual bore tbody like some guys do. The main benefit of the cj over the boss or any other alternative is the large opening that can bring in alot more air...take advantage of that with the right tbody.
Im doing 450 ish wheel with stock cams, E54 and a gt350 mani. 480/490 with a CJ, cams and better fuel sounds right. Im more interested in his ET and mph though.
keith barrios they have limiting blocks installed in the phasers to keep the timing down to 20deg on the intake side to prevent the piston from hitting the valve. Coyotes have + - 50 deg of timing in stock form.

If you boost it with pd blower stay with 3.31 if you go centrifugal go 3.55s. N/a I'd go 3.73 or 4.10s

All you need is a gt350 or 2018 manifold and you can touch 8K preferably ported and I guess one weak point would be the oil pump.

Smoke 5.0 depending on how they are installed roughly 15+ rwhp will compliment the car most when boosted .

Can't discount the fuel either, I'm sure that it's well over 100 RON with the E85/FTW mix in the tank.
Combo of all 3: cams manifold and fuel. Also, the headers make sure the exhaust isnt a restriction. Critical in an N/A build.
