- Ever wondered what happens after an F1 Race? Well let me fill you in from everything that happens from the moment an F1 race finishes through to the F1 podium celebrations, F1 post-race interviews, F1 post race press conferences ad even when F1 drivers leave the F1 circuit. Well, for the past two years, they really have ‘t needed to many others…
20 years ago it was German and Italian anthems. 12 years ago it was German and Austrian anthems. 6 years ago it was English and German anthems. Times changed

And what about you Kym? I know you prepare videos after a race as well as download your pics, but I'm going to give you an assignment, should you choose to accept it. One you may like and one that will test your photography skills. For some reason these past weeks I have been watching Isle of Man TT videos and that is a truly spectacular event. Last night a YT videos showed some still photography pics and I immediately thought....Kym could do that! The Isle of Man TT is June 1 to June 8 this year and falls between Monaco and Canada. What say you. Something a little different but still racing and something for you to try.

Anyway I'm just curious about the media pen, do drivers visit all posts in the media pen area or just simply visit one or two posts?
It's rare for a drivers to visit every post. A lot of the planning and organising is done by their PR officer, who also take audio recordings and will commonly decide which post to visit next.
They normally speak to any journalist/network that asks
7:25 I remember I watched a video prior to the 22 season called something like "F1 for dummies" and the running joke for the host was "and then Max Verstappen wins the race" and I thought it was hilarious at the time and (for me at least) a bit of wishful thinking. I had no idea those words would become so prophetic.
And yes, even as a Dutchman and Max/RB fan I long for more battles at the front.

Depends if they have flights to catch.
When I was at the 2023 Australian Grand Prix, I was sitting in the Moss grandstand, and on the last lap, I saw a bunch of people rushing towards the track, and a couple of those blokes actually ENTERED the track while the race was still running, even though it was behind the safety car.
I always thought parc ferme meant: "park firmly" lmao

Wow, besides Japan, people around the world are just ughhh. They can’t control themselves, we could all take lessons from the Japanese in how to be civil.
I enjoy your videos especially what happens before and after races. I thought in the after race video you rather focussed on the stuff we could see on TV ( podium, interviews etc ) and would have liked more focus on what is happening in the garages. For example my mum worked for Ken Tyrell who told her that the mechanics didn't like going to Monoco. The pits were too small and crowded and the team trucks were parked a long way up the hill. They had to hump loads of gear down to the pits and then back up again during and after the race. I love your focus on the human story and I think the mechanics and teams story could do with more focus. Thanks for great videos though

lovely vid -- grand prix F1 has been going a while --------- but level of professionalism is impressive at all levels from tech to regs to marketing --------------- /// the actual race belies what I supsect is a very well oiled machine ...... good example monacco over a week city becomes like an F1 city catering stands roads parking tv ..... two days later all gone like it never happened .... not so much as a cigarette butt or piece of litter ..... slick ... /// do like kyms inside out silk scarf ...... slick .....

Hey Kym, who is the female FIA official at 3:33 who runs around after every race? She tries so hard to get those top 3 in line but all they want to do is celebrate. I remember it used to be a tall gentleman before her.

I’ve always marvelled at how they manage to set up, take down and move all the team hospo and garages. Even the cars! Does F1 have its own planes?

I don´t get why the drivers have to take the piece of paper after being weighed. It´s 2024 so surely they should just weigh a driver and assign it to a drivers name.

They often when there are no photographers around capture the action but the quality is atrocious

It was the 2023 US GP in Austin, Texas.
Lewis and Charles were both DQ'D cause of plank wear, their cars were then considered 'illegal'
Lando jokingly wrote 2 on his 3rd place trophy afterward. (Since Lewis finished 2nd, on the road anyways, they found out later that night or maybe even the next day, I don't remember)
So, no, he's not plugging anyone.

😮 Kym, could you make a video covering access? I have managed to access the paddock via contacts in the teams but there has to be a pedestrian tunnel ie Silverstone and Spa but there wasn’t access at COTA or Shanghai. Any other intel would be great

Sky Sports Teds notebook shows the post race situation. Like last day of school term people are packing away for fast airfreight between factory and next race etc. Some drivers etc are slow to leave and in other cases its a sprint to the private jets and choppers

I follow & support our local music scene & have a great appreciation for our many incredible live music photographers 🙌🏽…So I was delighted to eventually see your channel pop up after I seriously got into watching F1 a few yrs back. It certainly gives fans of F1 a better understanding of pretty much everything surrounding an F1 race in general + all those extra yummy bits of info you kindly add! You’ve shouted out the main photographers in F1, but I honestly don’t feel the need……
You totally impressed me & had me hitting that ‘subscribe’ button after I watched your ‘run through the entire track’ video of the L.V. GP….love Vegas, a place I know well but haven’t visited in years…not since they built the Sphere, so I was particularly interested in that race…thorough & fascinating info on how they built it all with updates! This lead me to view previous & subsequent vids you posted on that race….and the rest is history!

Love the content so far this season. Really dig the deeper "behind the scenes" presentations. Been tuning in to Kym for many F1 seasons... and this channel is simply "part of it" now... part of the entire F1 experience. I noticed Kym in the F1 race coverage for TV at Japan and it was like spotting a driver. Hahaha!

It’s a legal requirement in Western Australia
We always see when they got their weight after the race . But do they weight them before the race ? I’ve never seen videos or photos .
The driver is away by the team, but it doesn’t matter what weight you start at, Only the weight you finish at
This was such a nice explanation that I was extremely disappointed when it ended! I wish you could have spoken about more, even up to the point when the last person locks the gate of the circuit! Lovely video!
