Respectfully Kym, the track walk isn’t a casual walk and spend time with Engineers. It’s an integral part for a driver to remind themselves of braking zones and markers, check track conditions and discuss with their Engineer strategy. It’s especially important for rookies and maybe not so integral for the very experienced drivers. I have worked in Motorsport for many years and completed countless track walks.
True but a lot of the time is also spent in casual conversation. When something comes up and you reach a new corner, you will of course discuss it but I think Kym was just meaning it's less of an official meeting and a more relaxed and casual discussion with the engineers. It's not necessarily essential and after a few years at the same track, there is less to discuss, hence why some drivers stop them altogether. Point being, they can also have a chat about their weekend or something else in a way they cant when they're sat around in a meeting. Like you say, for rookies it's a bit different but for more experienced drivers it's also some time with their engineers
I think he meant by popularity. The fanzone for Ferrari drivers are usually twice if not three times as large as for other teams. They also do interviews in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
Wow unbelievably tedious and taxing, not sure how they can do that almost every week when they probably just want to drive. Thanks for the great and unique vid Kym!
Anita here and you are very welcome Kym 😁 The Ferrari print (#12/50) looks beautiful on my wall, together with the signed Fernando print. Thank YOU for making such great content and for taking such great photographs!
I knew they had a lot of commitments, but my god that’s a lot. Idk how they stay sane, no wonder most will say they that they don’t like media days. Thanks Kym for the great information!
Yes but what i understood from what Kim said is that if you´re a "bigger star" like Hamilton or Verstappen you can skip most of those things in the morning and arrive only at 2 for the press conference. At least on the first day
Thanks as always for a well-informed look behind the scenes. Bottom line as you have reported it - very little downtime for drivers on a race weekend. Lots of work.
This was an interesting video. You have to be a unique individual to be a F1 driver these days. That is a LOT to deal with every race weekend. Thank you very much for sharing this with us. Always amazing content sir. Stay safe AND passionate, God Bless.🙏🏻🏁
I usually just watch the videos and never leave a like but this time i felt obligated to do it bc this video was SO WELL DONE 😂, honestly I could imagine how much work Kym pull off that would be a crime if I didn't like it. I Loved the content so much, it was very enlightened and creative, hope see more of these type of videos in the future.
In some ways, it would be nice to have everything scheduled for you, but it's got to be exhausting at times. Imagine traveling to all these different places and you still eat the same food and only see things at the track.
Yeah, after seeing an image of Ferlando, I can't concentrate on what you are saying, Kym. Had to replay your vid with my eyes closed to get a sense of what the drivers do.
Hi Kym, are you receiving money from Lando or his team? the question is because Lando is the star in your videos. Of course Daniel also appears a lot, which I recognize is because his nationality.
The sponsors commitments must be tiresome! Every race, every day? I’m not much for small talk so I think that would be the hardest part for me! Lol Curious if you can share what some drivers do between races? How much time at w factory, how much time doing sponsor stuff, how much time to their own, etc. Awesome insight mful vid as always!
F1 Drivers ONLY Drive on Track for 20% of their Job throughout a Season…there is WAY More they do outside of the Race Weekends…Sponsors Events, Sponsor Filming Days, Team Meetings, Team Simulator Work, Team Filming Days, F1 (FOM) Filming Days etc…basically F1 Drivers hardly are at Home throughout a Year…
Add jetlag and I would think twice is it worth it to risk my life. Not like the good ol days by far where you just show up .. this alone would burn you out even b4 you race
Does Lewis have to ever be in team gear? I can’t stand how prima donna he is. Kym, will you be staying at Singapore Marriott Tang plaza again this year? Are you going to do a meet and greet?
@@KymIllman keep us posted. Thank you for the response. Looking to meet you this trip. We were in Singapore, Hungary, and Austin and haven’t been able to say hi yet.
Your amalgamated driver looks kind of dodgy - like that guy at the club it's best to avoid. 😂 Which makes me ask: besides dictating wardrobe, do teams ever tell drivers to cut their hair or change their look? Like when they show up in a mullet or crazy dyed hair, or badly tattooed. I've heard of other athletes being told to change their look to get their big salary.
That visual Lando/Lewis clash is F1 nightmare inducing :D
With Verstappen's hair lmao
He looks like a Eldritch horror that fell from the stars.
With Max’s hair😟

Not sure calling Alex Albon a "lesser driver" will go down well but I know what you're getting at 🤣
I think he meant by popularity. The fanzone for Ferrari drivers are usually twice if not three times as large as for other teams. They also do interviews in English, French, Italian and Spanish.
@jancam464 My point was that people might take it the wrong way and not understand what he meant.
This is why Kimi said "I still enjoy the driving. Everything else, I hate." 😂
Ferlando Versthamilton😂😂😂😂…. Love it😂😂😂
Indeed always entertaining and well prepared…
@phillpieblanc2341
Ferlando Versthamiltn = Fernando Alonzo + Lando Norris + max Verstappen + Lewis Hamilton 😊
Wow unbelievably tedious and taxing, not sure how they can do that almost every week when they probably just want to drive. Thanks for the great and unique vid Kym!
You sir, are a well prepared, entertaining , gentleman . Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
2:55 "energy drink" LOL. Best choice.
Informative and entertaining. Thank you Kym!
Glad you enjoyed it!
‘Verstamilton’….thank you for this: I’m sure there will NEVER be an Enemies-to-Lovers fanfic written now because of inspiration such as yours. 🙃
Anita here and you are very welcome Kym 😁

And now you have a video on RUclips as proof of your authentic photo!

Why was there a picture of the William MVP Alex Albion when you were talking about "lesser driver"? 😂
Huge uncanny valley with the montage of Felando ! The first photoshop for the PR meeting is just gold !
Cheeky rich energy plug😂
Thank you for this really informative video ❤ I always wanted to know how a weekend looks like for a driver 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Love it. Stay passionate and always stay to the end 🌞
The drivers name and the team 🤣🤣🤣 love it 🤝🏼🙌🏻🤣🤣🤣
fascinating as usual Kym, cheers!
Thank you! Cheers!

Glad you enjoyed it!
Good video, another interesting video would be what F1 drivers typically do in between races.
I usually just watch the videos and never leave a like but this time i felt obligated to do it bc this video was SO WELL DONE 😂, honestly I could imagine how much work Kym pull off that would be a crime if I didn't like it.

Much appreciated
Kym,,, not only was that really cool content but it was damn clever too. 👍👍🏁
Cheers
great details into f1 life. these vids must take kym fricken ages to put together.
Yep.
When will you have a signed print with Oscar Ocon; love that guy
Ferlando Verstamilton! lol, another great vlog!!
Yes! Thank you!
HUGE Ferlando fan here.!!!!
In some ways, it would be nice to have everything scheduled for you, but it's got to be exhausting at times. Imagine traveling to all these different places and you still eat the same food and only see things at the track.
When they cash that fat check, it's not so bad.
Yeah, after seeing an image of Ferlando, I can't concentrate on what you are saying, Kym. Had to replay your vid with my eyes closed to get a sense of what the drivers do.
Lol Kym, I love the name and picture you came up with - Ferlando!! Thanks for a great video providing wonderful and interesting insight.
You are so welcome!
The most pleasant paparazzi possible. Good content Kym
Sergio Leclerc sounds a great name
loved the fictious names 🤣🤣😂😂👍👍
Mr. Illman, what are the planning tools/software you see the teams are using for the rundown? And is it a Smartsheet file in your video?
I use google sheets
Very well done and interesting. When do they get the chance to train?
Ferlando Verstamilon? Is he any good? 😉
Kym, do you know of any drivers who are foodies or big eaters?
Yuki probably😅
Can, anyone tell me who is that Indian guy beside pierre gasly at this timestamp- 5:09
As i said before Kym you are the walking encyclopedia of F1 cheers.Gowra
Living the fast life
7:30 that’s a really late time for me today I woke up at 5:30
Nice video. But why did Ferlando not attend the drivers briefing? Isn’t that a fine? 😂
Indeed.
i think the cursed image of Ferlando Versthamilton will live in mind rent me
Hey Kym, love your insight as always! Do you know what day drivers normally arrive in the race city? Particularly a USA race like Austin
It depends on their schedules
@@KymIllman do some come on Wednesdays?
Ofc my favorite driver Ferlando Verstamilton, the real F1 goat
It felt so good to see seb 🫣
Always enjoy your vids Kym!
Glad you like them!
Ferlando verstamilton sounds like a fusion of 4 drivers
Which day and what time normally drivers arrive Singapore for during the race week? Do they use Seletar Airport in Singapore?
We have no idea about where they arrive in Singapore. Thier Instagram pages would be the best way to get an idea of where they are
I want Ferlando to be a real F1 driver now.
We can scratch that track walk for Las Vegas!
Kym how is your 4 day timetable set out 📸🏎️
I recorded a video on that yesterday which will be edited and up in a couple of weeks
Hello Kim. how I can get one of your beautiful photo’s signed by you? Best regards. Sandra from the Netherlands
Go to KYMS SHOP at KymIllman.com
Now i know why some drivers just want to quit, this sucks😂
Very enlightening Kym! Changed my mind, don't want to be an F1 driver now.... 🤣
if you make it to the top you cans kip most of those things just like Max and Lewis lol
Hi Kym, are you receiving money from Lando or his team? the question is because Lando is the star in your videos. Of course Daniel also appears a lot, which I recognize is because his nationality.

Ferlando Verstamilton got 12 WDC under his belt
Kym, Ferlando will haunt me in my nightmare tonight 😮
Energy drink? Hmmm. A monster decision👹
This makes me tired just looking at this schedule
Mum: don’t worry, Ferlando is not real
Me: he’s real ma, his smile haunts me 😖😭

Woah I’m the first to comment.. keep up the great videos Kym!
Oscar Ocon 🤣

Ferlando will be WDC in 2023!!
Great video apart from that creepy drivers Frankenstein
Add jetlag and I would think twice is it worth it to risk my life. Not like the good ol days by far where you just show up .. this alone would burn you out even b4 you race
handsome man that ferlando
😂😂
Oscar Rockon brilliant
Does Lewis have to ever be in team gear? I can’t stand how prima donna he is. Kym, will you be staying at Singapore Marriott Tang plaza again this year? Are you going to do a meet and greet?
Yes, once he’s arrived. And No, and probably to the other two questions
@@KymIllman keep us posted. Thank you for the response. Looking to meet you this trip. We were in Singapore, Hungary, and Austin and haven’t been able to say hi yet.
Biblicaly acurate f1 driver
Looks like Lando went into Lewis' closet
lol rich energy
Hectic 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
A driver should be left alone on race day.
Really, an energy drink? Those things are not good for you
Got tired just from watching this.. 🤣
GH = 'george + hamilton'
OO = 'oscar + ocon'
SL = 'sergio + leclerc"
who came up with these unorganized, dumbass acronyms

I know right? He's got a few I think. They are glorious.
@@jancam464 They are beautiful, no doubt, but way overpriced. You’re paying just for the name and to show off
