I remember working at the British Grand Prix as a litter picker. But, the best bit was we were given access all areas and it literally was access all areas. I managed to get up close and take a picture of Alain Prost, Nigel Mansell, Derek Warwick, and Ayrton Senna. Walking up the pit lane on race day was the best thing ever! The smell and the noise, just amazing! This video just reminded me of that experience and I can see why you had such a huge smile on your face as well.
I discovered your videos about a year or so ago because your first F1 experience came up on my feed. As an F1 fan, of course I watched. I have watched several hours of your videos since then because incidentally, I also love trains - but the fact that you love F1 so much takes it all. I love living vicariously through your videos. :) Thank you!
When they had the Molson Indy Vancouver, I was fortunate to get a temp job working at it in the food services and was given an all access pass for the entire 3 or 4 days of it, including the Players party at the downtown Library and had full pit lane access as well, got to meet all the drivers and team owners from the likes of the late Greg Moore, Paul Tracy, Alex Zanardi, Michael and Mario Andretti to name a few. It was an awesome time, my main area I worked in at it was the area where all the team owners and staff were at especially for the victory celebrations.
That is so totally coooool, Mike. I'd say you were having the time of your life. What an amazing event and especially your ride around the track. That severe turn you showed us was hair-raising. You do such great work, youngster. Thanks!!!!!!
Just spotted my partner at 2.27 - he works in the PC he would have been sorting the audio for the interview. Thank you for posting so I could check he was doing some work 🤣
It's cool because you got to see other things not included, like the guy that took you to the other place. Otherwise paddock club is literally packed with people pushing and shoving most of the time which I dealt with in Doha and the wristbands for the track tour were finished in a couple of hours. Our shuttle got there later and so we missed out even though it was included on the price. Also people would sit at random tables and sections they are not even allowed in and no one would do anything about it. It's cool if you know people but not otherwise.
lol tell me about it no one cared about where people sat every time i went to my table/grandstand i sat in different seats every time 🤣🤣 If you know the track your going to and picked a good corner/straight the paddock club isnt really worth it, but after seeing a few of the drivers a couple of times I am satisfied but definitely wouldnt do it again
Only thing better than paddock club is buying a spot on a yacht by the chicane in monaco. best food, wine & champagne, spot to watch, & so many driver interviews on the yacht. was really cool to hear stories from Jeremy Clarkson
Fancy. I guessed after they liked last year's video you were doing Paddock Club 👏 The VIP one in Montreal looked great too. That felt more like you're in the garage with them. But having that Paddock boat transportation in Montreal would've been nice ;)
I once managed to blag a free Paddock Club pass for the Friday practice day at Silverstone. Not quite that level, but still one of the most amazing days of my life and I still remember the food 20 years later.
Had the opportunity to meet you at the Bahrain GP and you guys couldn't have been nicer. I'm the islanders fan from Scotland who still isn't over Tavares leaving 😂 Glad you enjoyed the paddock experience we hope to do it next year maybe see you there 👍
Damn man. I remember subscribing when you had less than 1000 subs. Just stumbled upon your page. I live in Crescent Beach. Amazing how far you have come. Keep it up. you really have one of the best channels.
This dropped at 3 A.M. California time, but at least I get to see it late. Pearls used to be the only thing Bahrain was known for, a sleepy little island in the Persian Gulf. My, how things have changed!
I watched your previous video and it was the inspiration to go to this year's bahrain grand prix. Although i had grandstand seating for the weekend, i had a package that allowed us up to the oasis deck and the pitlane walk and track tour. It was an amazing weekend and was good to see you had an amazing experience too!!!
I just have a big smile watching your videos I feel like I’d be friends with you and be there doing all this cool stuff. The best smiles are the genuine ones you don’t realize your doing until it’s over
How did you go from travelling by trains to Dakar & F1?!? Well done!!!! I remember the videos of you & your dad travelling across Canada via train 🥰 🇨🇦
you can call me weird but im so interested to see the workers over there rather than being a visitor enjoying the show, like i would be happy to be one of them because i used to be a crew in a very huge event/festival like this when i was still in a high school
Loving the F1 videos! You need to do another one with Sinan and Vincent!! Keep up the good work, loving all the content…and can’t wait to see if you make down to Australia for a a race or to japan or even singapore!
Awesome vid brother! My wife and I are huge F1 fans. Love when you do F1 content! Again thanks for the quote I got off you for my wife’s Valentine Day card “I don’t know where I’m going next, but I want you there with me” Lol, remember me! Keep up the great vids. Can’t wait for the next one!!
Im not going to pretend to have all of a sudden become a fan of F1, but I respect that you are and that you also need funds to finance the videos that I do love.......Im looking forward to seeing your next more traditional Mike Downie video and, as always, will view every video for the different view you give. Cant say Im a fan of Bahrain, simply from the human rights perspective, but, unlike many Arabic nations, they at least seem to be trying to be seen to do what is right (by western standards anyway).......as with everywhere though, they have a way to go. And I mean everywhere. There isnt a nation on Earth that couldnt do better on that front, my own included.
You said what I was just thinking in a very respectful way. I’m starting to question why I’m now following a channel about F1 racing in the Middle East, neither of which I’m even curious about. I was a big fan of his older content, and if this is his true passion, I can’t fault him. But it’s gotten to the point where I just scroll past his videos without watching. There’s enough fans here pleased with the content so my measly view hardly matters, but I do miss the old content. I found him during the pandemic and it was fun while it lasted.
@@Gingersnap0 Mike is awesome and if you'd read through the comments all the way, you'd have noticed he responded to another comment with an explanation. I suggest you look for it if you genuinely enjoy his non F1 content and remember that he is watching a sport he enjoys, not touring and endorsing the nations that sport happens to have a race in. Mike Downie has some of the best travel blogs, and the best presenting style, Ive ever seen. And from what he has said, he has a more traditional video coming next.......Im going nowhere.
Hey Downie frickin loved this vid. I’m curious as to how you get so many experiences and get invited and everything is paid for (not this vid) but like how they contacted you to go to races and have VIP experiences
The explanation as to how I got this paddock club experience is all explained in my lasted video. For others I buy tickets myself, or for my VIP experience with Alpine, I emailed and made a case that it would be worth it for them with the exposure from my channel. I hope that answers your question.
Mahn I really dig your videos mahn!! You super interesting plus do some more F1 adventures we waiting especially this year the field is super competitive
Did I miss it, or I'm a bit out of the loop on who offered the Paddock Club access and how this whole thing happened, but it's super cool to see what that ticket provides. You've proven it's the best place to experience the race from, not a question.
What do you use to keep track of all your travel-related info such as itineraries, documents, etc.? Do you use something like TripIt? Notion? Spreadsheet?
I guess I might have missed it, but what does that experience cost? It’s a bucket list thing and I would love to do it this year at maybe Monza or Monaco…😁👍

Thanks a ton!
I agree with @Offn1ne

100% agree. I just starting getting into F1 and these videos are great, lots of good info 👍🏽

Cheers, to *this* tradition! What an experience, Mike!! #seeyanextweek
Great Video Mike. It looks like you had a great time. Thanks for sharing your experience.
You've come along way from taking the cheapest trip to a f1 race, and man it looks good on you. I'm jealous, but in the best way!!
Thanks so much, Chris!

Wow what an amazing experience! I’d love to one day get to do paddock club. I’ve been to the Miami and Austin GP and Bahrain seems so chill.
This is amazing. Maybe someday :D
I remember last year I was in the stands at silverstone they did a track tour for paddock when all the stands were full and the booing was crazy 🤣
What a blast!🎆
Your haircut rocks... great video
You rock!
Goated video. Well done
Appreciate it
Feels like we're there. Thanks for the amazing content!
Thanks for coming along!
Wish you would have brought the people you met from last year to the behind the scenes
You’re living the life I always wanted and thats to be in F1 race close to everything!!
Thanks for the video
Waauw nice vid ! Just one question, Where is your shirt from. It looks amazing!!!

We really love your f1 videos, mate. I don't know if it is easy or hard for you , but please don't stop making these videos ❤❤
If you have the paddock club pass, do you also have access to the paddock suite? You mentioned that not everyone is allowed in the paddock club suite.
Nando looking into your soul @ 3:30
Would love to see a behind the scenes WRC vid too, maybe even with a ride-along...
Love your videos Mike! Especially the F1 videos! How did you get the tickets? It’s a dream of mine to do exactly what you did here!! ❤
Such a cool experience to see all the different access areas!
So interesting!
with your paddock club passes you can go into the F2 and F3 paddock a far more intermate experience
Yessss mate, the Kym collab is coming, I can feel it!
I always enjoy paddock club videos.
Great Vid mate I used to travel for working at these F1 events last year so I know most of the staff in the paddock club!
That was cool to watch, great video!
I did Paddock Club in 2022 on the Friday and it was great.
One of the best behind the scenes vids I’ve ever seen
Were the food and drinks included in Paddock Pass admission price?
" WOW" Would absolutely love to experience an F1 race like that.
How fun! Thanks for taking us along. My 9 year old grandson's favorite is max.
Looks like a ton of fun bro!
You make really entertaining videos man keep the good work up!
Our man Downie going big time!
You have too come to Switzerland and travel with the red arrow train!
I think it looked flawless without the wing. So unique. But there's other areas that look very original still.
I watched F1’s vlogs of yours. Now you’re in for paddock! Cool🎉

mate this video was not that detailed than the earlier videos that you posted
Cuz everything is the same that he showed besides this.
Very cool, but try to go WRC events where you get most of this (except the food) for free, get even closer to the cars and drivers

Brilliant video & insight Mikie :)
Was really awesome seeing you have the time of your life!!!✌🐢
where did you get your shirt???? Love the Canadian Aston Stroll PRIDE LOL
I love watching your videos! Always a great experience to see, I have no interest in F1 but I enjoy your joy for it.
This one is great but I loved the cheapest f1 race video more. That was more touching and releastic for me in a sense.Overall it’s amazing!
Do you get to meet any of the drivers with the paddock club pass? Or do you have to be a guest a particular team?
SO COOL! Would you have been able to go outside the garages like the other people, where the drivers are walking back and forth??
No
As someone who is interested in buying a paddock ticket one day, is all the food/drinks and stuff included? Or is this pay separately?
Why were you not allowed to show the race start or any of the pitstops?
Huge F1 fan myself. Love your videos. 🙏
Try going to the British Grand Prix next, I would love to see how it goes 👍
this is my life dream. this would actually be the highlight of my life. might save up for a few years just to get a paddock pass :)
Super cool experience, great video!!
What do you use to keep track of all your travel-related info such as itineraries, documents, etc.? Do you use something like TripIt? Notion? Spreadsheet?
Spitting on the other oysters at 8:19 😂
What kind of shades were you wearing ?
Really great video. But, just a question. Isn't the F1 Garage more expensive and premium than the F1's paddock club ticket?
I don’t think you can buy that ticket.
I'm a simple man, I see a new F1 vlog from DownieLive, I press like 🙂.
Did Silverstone Paddock club. Was £3k and that was over 10 years ago.
I guess I might have missed it, but what does that experience cost? It’s a bucket list thing and I would love to do it this year at maybe Monza or Monaco…😁👍
