      Oh yay! I have to say, the messages I've gotten in response to that have really warmed my heart, which is quite jaded after the last year LOL. I'm glad you're here!!

    Thanks for the video. The ZZ is becoming my new favorite plant 🎉. I can’t wait to find the new Chameleon plant to add to my collection❤

      Yeah of course! It's a solid choice, so hardy and survives basically anything I throw at it :)

    I recently went 2 months without watering my two ZZs and they didn't even show signs of stress! In fact, one of them has a bunch of new growth coming in!

      Haha, thanks for the reminder to water mine, I think it's been about 2 months for me right now! Been a busy spell!

    Thanks so much for this video ! The Raven ZZ has been on my wish list. Walmart has the Costa Farms ones right now. The new growth on them is green. I thought they were reverting. Thanks too for the heavy pot advice. A mason drill bit is on my wish list too ;^D

      Hey Julie, thanks! Grab one of the Costa ones. They are great. My mom has one. Growth comes out lime green on mine too. It's fun to watch it slowly change!

    I love your video and also your ZZ plants❤. I bought one of them this morning is small but the soil is sooo wet that I'm not sure if I can replant it today or wait until the soil dry a little.

      Oh no, lots of places overwater these for sure. I know this is about a week late, but I'd pull it out and repot with fresh dry soil. That has worked for me with other plants in the past!

    So i have a chameleon zz and it had pretty color but now its all green. I do have some new sprouts that look like they will come in yellow. Is that common? I have been watering once a week, so i will be pulling back on that. But it has grown a good 8- 10 inches taller in the last year!

    • @ByBrittanyG
      @ByBrittanyG  Месяц назад

      This is totally normal! The ZZ chameleon’s leaves emerge yellow and "harden off" to green as they age.

    Thanks Brittany.
    Would you say the ZZ plant can withstand high outdoor temperatures such as 90-95 F
    ?

    • @ByBrittanyG
      @ByBrittanyG  Год назад

      Yep, I've had mine outdoors in extreme heat in the Maryland summers, you just have to make sure it's getting enough water in that case!

    My daughter gave me her ZZ plant because she said it didnt grow for 2 years. Within the last last month it produced 4 new stems but the leaves are only at the top. Any suggestiony?
    Thanks! Enjoyed your video.

      it's a slow grower for sure! if it's happy, it will eventually sprout new growth from the rhizomes under the soil's surface. It can take a while, though.

    is your zz chameleon mostly green now(except for the new growth)?

    • @ByBrittanyG
      @ByBrittanyG  5 месяцев назад

      The ZZ chameleon should always retain a bit of a mix of colors as new foliage emerges :)

    Where did you get your chamaeleon ZZ plant…I have the raven and the regular ZZ plant

      I got mine from the Costa Farms website, but if you live somewhere that has Costa Farms plants for sale (usually in Home Depot, Lowes, Walmart, etc.) you might be able to find one for cheaper in stores!

    DO YOUR POTS HAVE HOLES IN THE BOTTOM OF THEM? i HAVE TO REPOT MINE

    • @ByBrittanyG
      @ByBrittanyG  2 года назад

      My raven ZZ plant is not in a pot with drainage, but when I repot it, I'll put it in one with drainage holes :)

  • @brianwilliams3247
    @brianwilliams3247 10 месяцев назад

    You could just drill a hole in the bottom for drainage.

    • @ByBrittanyG
      @ByBrittanyG  10 месяцев назад

      I could, but I'd have to take it out of it's pot, and I haven't gotten around to it yet. I'll probably do it this spring and put the ZZ in a plastic nursery pot that I'll set down in it.

    The ZZ Raven you don’t have to water this plant much at all. If you’re the type that likes to water your plants then only give this plant 2 tablespoons of water one a week that’s all you need . I made the mistake of watering it and the excess moisture in the soil killed the plant the roots had rotted from the water. This plant is very similar to a cactus plant

      Absolutely! It's super hardy and a GREAT plant for those who want something low maintenance

    I have ZZ plant for 5 years and i water my ZZ plant 1 every 2 months so 6 times a year 😅🤣 and it's growing huge.

      Nice! Watering needs can be so different depending on the care environment. My house is so dry. In the winter, I water it about once a month. Definitely needs more here in the spring and summer, though
