One thing to note is that us Indonesian don't deep fry our egg. It's too oily and a waste of good oil, especially when we use the same wok as cooking the rice then it's already dirty. We reuse oil for deep frying usually 😂
I'm fine with my fried egg not being crispy.
Oh and if its for the street food nasi goreng, the same wok is used to do the next batch. Deep fried egg is highly impractical.

      people need to remember.
There are TWO TYPES/KINDS/WAYS at making FRIED RICE.
Do the classic chinese style one(this also includes how japanese, korean, vietnamese, etc making their fried rice)
Or do the indonesian/malay style one.
In this video, that guy is INDONESIAN(but seems ethnically a Chinese).
Soo of course the way of cooking fried rice is like that.
WE USE ONIONS, GARLIC, SPICES, AND SWEET SOY SAUCE. Different from the chinese fried rice that usually dont use soy sauce and if they ude soy sauce, the taste wont be SWEET. It will be salty.
While in Indonesian/Malay style, it need to be sweet, salty, and a bit spicy(both spice-y and hot spicy)

I'm native Indonesian, actually there are pretty much variants of nasi goreng in Indonesia, not just darker coloured ones (usually from java as they tend to use black sweet soy sauce), the example of famous darker nasi goreng are nasi goreng jawa and nasi goreng aceh, for brighter one (orange colour usually from spices), like nasi goreng padang and nasi goreng kampung. This is my personal opinion on 'famous' nasi goreng after trying nasi goreng on Jakarta and Riau Island in Indonesia. Well the other famous cullinary that also well known in Malaysia also Satay (as in the past we are one, Nusantara), the famous traditional of satay in Indonesia are sate madura and sate padang (once again based on my personal opinion and experience). Basically almost every region has its own cullinary, some really similar and some don't, but nasi goreng, satay, martabak manis, pempek, mie ayam, rendang & padang's cuisine that can be found in padang house (rumah makan padang), ayam penyet (or bakar), green chily chicken (ayam cabe hijau, usually also can be found in padang house), pepes tahu (kinda like sausage tofu with spicy taste), tempe bacem (kinda sweet soft tempe), fresh seafood cuisine (although usually seaside or local seafood is good, can try to find cleaner restaurant I suggest for those who used to eat clean processed seafood), one of famous fired chicken trend few years ago, ayam geprek (but if you can't handle too much spices, you can try to ask to lower the level of spiciness, the other fried chicken alternative is that you can try eating ayam sambal matah for less spicy one), lastly you can try KFC in Indonesia (as you know KFC tend to varies and adapt to local cultures, from food anchors I watch, they say that Indonesia KFC has more flavor especially the sauce and fried chicken). That's all my opinion on the cuisine and local/traditional food that you should try in Indonesia, maybe some of my information is not perfect, but it's all my honest opinion from my experience of growing up in Indonesia.

Uncle Roger, there are 2 types of extra egg in Indonesian nasi goreng that really goes well with. It depends on your favourite.
The 2 types of extra egg are:
    1. The sunny side up or telor ceplok
    2. Omelette or telor dadar. You can either have standard omellete or the one with fillings. After you beat up the egg, you add sambal or spring onions or chopped chilies, or all three of them. To make it even better, add more MSG. Fuiyooh I'm drooling just by imagining it

@@danieliezzwan5283 in Indoneaia, the "official" name of telor ceplok is telur mata sapi (cow eye egg). The sunny side up egg do resembles an eye, but I don't know where the sapi came from. This "official" name has already been around here for such a long time tho.
Telor is how some Indonesians casually say telur, it depends on what accent he/she has
And there's a funny saying in Indonesia.
Dari ayam kita bisa buat telur mata sapi, tapi dari sapi kita tidak bisa buat telur mata ayam.
