      Yeah and I'd actually like them to make the videos longer and more in depth, the quality is extremely high so I understand why they are short.

    Fundamentally disagree with the shorter jacket length. This whole trend that's appearing of suit jackets that only go half way down the butt looks ridiculous. If you wear that in a business environment, you'll be laughed at.

    • @RiskyKris1
      @RiskyKris1 7 лет назад +2

      Agreed but I would say jacket should end right at the point where the thigh becomes the butt. Anything further and your suit jacket looks too long

    Black lacks versatility and light grey is too casual for most events, on top of that it's memorable. Eliminate these problems by having one charcoal grey suit. Boom.

      Actually black works quite well along with charcoal and navy, however not everyone can pull it off.

    I really appreciate how he mentioned not being the peacock in the office. Dressing well in clothes that fit doesn't mean people should see coming from a mile away, aspecialy in a work context.

    • @Mike_Jones281
      @Mike_Jones281 9 лет назад +2

      Yes, but to me he abused the term a little. A peacock is suppose to be an article of clothing, usually bright with patterns, that is obnoxious to the eyes; take for example a purple plaid suit with yellow stripes. Hence the term pea-cocking is traditionally used to describe said outfits that are like well...brightly colored peacocks.

      I disagree with both of you. standing out is not a bad thing. some people stand out naturally, and not everyone can and should wear grey. that is, unless you want to look like the building you work in, which is fine. point is, you should wear what pleases you, not what pleases others. that's the whole point of dressing well. personally, I'm all for minimalism, but there are more colors to choose from than black, blue and grey, even for men. there's nothing wrong with being bold, whether you're at work, at home, or at a party. if you can't be yourself, then who are you?

    • @Mike_Jones281
      @Mike_Jones281 9 лет назад

      ***** Well I would just say that I agree with you. However I personally try to be smart with how I stand out by researching the articles before I wear them, and what signal said articles convey. So as a businessman I would never ever wear a purple and yellow pinstripe suit with green shoes to my office--to me that peacocking. So really what it boils down to is who you are, what you do, and where you are going.
      And I also think that dressing differently is not necessarily peacocking.

    • @funkymunky

      Mike Jones green shoes? let's be serious for a moment. I'd like to point out that the term "peacocking" is used out of context here. peacocking is used to describe a man whose ostentatious clothing (or "swagger", if you prefer) is meant to attract women (or men, if he swings that way) by signaling that he is, or should be seen as, the alpha male. most men peacock, but only a few are true alpha males. in other words, no matter what you wear -- classic grey or gaudy green -- how you carry yourself in the presence of others is what defines you. sadly, of course, we live in a world where our clothing choices either break or make us -- but I'd rather be my peacocking self than a slave to office conformity. life reveals itself in color, not in monochrome. we can't all be zebras.

      Mike Jones I agree...there's a difference between "peacocking" and wearing something garish. Wearing great fitting clothes with great complimenting colors, textures, and cuts is different than just wearing bright, glaring clothing. To be honest in today's office environments anyone with well fitting pants and shoes that are in good shape is going to stand out from that alone. If you wear a well fitting suit that will take you up another couple of notches, and if you wear something other than the typical charcoal grays, black, and navy, well...you're in peacock territory which is where you want to be. You will be noticed for the right reasons, and be seen and appreciated for someone who put some thought into putting themselves together. For example, compare a guy wearing a skittles colored polo and khakis to work vs. a man wearing a dark tan suit, white dress shirt and a light orange & blue striped tie. The man in the suit is the real peacock and will get noticed for looking great, even though he's not wearing any bright colors.
