  • Title: Sam the Cooking Guy's Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta
Introduction: Inspired by the flavors and creativity of Sam the Cooking Guy, this Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta is a delicious and easy-to-make recipe that's sure to impress your family and friends. Bursting with zesty lemon, fragrant garlic, and succulent shrimp, this dish is a perfect balance of flavors and textures. Let's get cooking!
    Ingredients:
12 oz (340g) linguine or fettuccine pasta
1 lb (450g) large shrimp, peeled and deveined
    4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
    Zest of 1 lemon
1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth
    1/4 cup heavy cream
    1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
    2 tablespoons unsalted butter
    2 tablespoons olive oil
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)
Salt and black pepper to taste
    Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
    Instructions:
Cook the Pasta: Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain the pasta and set aside, reserving about 1/2 cup of the pasta water.
Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet, heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until they turn pink and opaque. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set them aside.
Prepare the Sauce: In the same skillet, add another tablespoon of olive oil and the butter. Once the butter melts, add the minced garlic and red pepper flakes. Sauté for about 1 minute until the garlic becomes fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Create the Lemon Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low, and pour in the chicken or vegetable broth, lemon juice, and lemon zest. Let it simmer for a minute or two, allowing the flavors to meld together. Stir in the heavy cream and grated Parmesan cheese. Allow the sauce to thicken slightly for a couple of minutes.
Combine the Shrimp and Pasta: Add the cooked shrimp back into the skillet with the lemon cream sauce. Toss everything together to coat the shrimp evenly with the sauce.
Incorporate the Pasta: Add the cooked pasta to the skillet with the shrimp and sauce. Gently toss everything together, ensuring the pasta is well coated with the creamy lemon garlic sauce. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little reserved pasta water to reach your desired consistency.
Season and Garnish: Season the Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta with salt and black pepper to taste. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley on top for a burst of color and added freshness.
Serve and Enjoy: Divide the Lemon Garlic Shrimp Pasta among serving plates or bowls. Optionally, you can offer additional grated Parmesan cheese and red pepper flakes on the side for those who want to customize their dish. Serve hot and savor the fantastic flavors created by Sam the Cooking Guy's inspired recipe.

You leave the shrimp on one side until it starts to turn pink. Then flip it over one time and let it cook on the other side. Then let's move the pan away from the burner away from the heat and let it finish on its own. As long as it's pink and not gray then it's done. You should zest the lemon before you cut it. And strain the juice through your fingers to catch the seeds. And always reserve a little bit of pasta water in case you need it for your sauce at the end. And I have made this before and it's delicious. You did a great job Dave.

If your knives are going rusty you must be washing them in the dishwasher. If you want them to stay as new you should wash cutlery in the sink with soapy water, rinse with warm water and dry them straight away. No rust marks that way.

That's more or less the recipe I use when I get given fresh Lobster and I thoroughly enjoy it. I am lucky enough to live at the beach and have generous neighbours.
You did good, apart from slightly overcooking the shrimp but understand your reluctance to even cook it. Think if I had got food poisoning from it in the past I would never have eaten it again.

I just discovered you. So I subscribed and clicked for all notifications and as I binge watch you, I’m giving you thumbs up so hopefully you your algorithm will go crazy and send you out there to be discovered by more like us.
I love to cook when I have the time and energy to cook.
I can tell this will be made regularly.
I heard you say that someone complained about your small talk. I love you just the way you are. If you changed you would not be as entertaining. So keep up your imperfect ways. I love watching you just as you are. If I wanted perfection , I would watch someone perfect. And sometimes I do. But for the common cook you are fun to watch and I have enjoyed what you have picked to share with us.
I am loving the Ai concept.

Shrimp at Walmart?! I wouldn’t buy it there, either! I know that doesn’t sound nice, but I only buy my fish from a good fish monger. You don’t want bad fish. And you’re in Florida where there is lots of fresh fish. This recipe looks delicious! Will have to try it! Way to go!!

Getting sick from shrimp isn't that common. You got bad luck, and you ate, apparently, two week old meat. Any two week old meat has a very high likelihood of making you sic, unless it's perhaps like a vacuum sealed steak. I would be far less worried about getting sick from shrimp than chicken.

  • @JasonSaeler

I think you over cooked the shrimp my friend. You can tell when they start to really shrink. They will taste good but texture can be a little rubbery.

  • @sarahjenkins8963

If the shrimp looks like a c, it's done. If it looks like they turned into them self like a snail their over cooked.

Zest the lemon before your cut it. Much easier.
It also helps to read the recipe several times before you start cooking.
I buy frozen shrimp from Walmart all the time. If you left the shrimp in the fridge for 2 weeks, that’s on you, not the shrimp.

Wow, I hope do don't do your job like you cook - "I'll read the directions after I start". What could go wrong by doing things out of order and/or at the wrong temperature? LOL Also, why would I wash a kitchen utensil after bringing it home from the store where it has been fondled by hundreds of people? I guess if this is supposed to be a comedy, you were successful? I certainly wouldn't eat any of this dish.
