Yeah dying to know about that round flat thing. Tell us about what you use most, etc. it will help me when I re do my backyard patio in deciding what I want for a grill
Yes please show us your back yard set up. Specifically how do you keep the the open back yard kitchen clean from pests and rodents? Cuz any food scraps they smell.. they are going to come for it after.
The sink! I was tired of the two sided junk, and mounted a huge extra large single. Now I am to deal with griddles, big pans and cookie sheets etc. On top of that I moved the faucet (tall, long reach) to one side and the sprayer to the other. Now I can work on last minute items, and yet soak my burnt mistakes at the same time!
Something wrong with people disliking this guy and his kitchen. Don't see people doing their own kitchen tours. Sam I admire your hard work and attention to detail
Sam because of you I have redesigned and continue to engineer my kitchen and soon, my back patio. I’m 70 years old, I’ve cooked my whole life, but terribly, been married 40, but my wife doesn’t like to cook. So…. As an old retired guy “it’s my kitchen now”. Your channel is the first I go to when I’m gonna cook, tonite it’s chicken Milanese, I’m a big fan, love your frankness, your language and your approach to life…. I look forward to your videos…. I’m inspired, so when I set up my patio, which is a blank slate right now…your inspiration will help guide me…do the outside video, I need some cool ideas…..that would be nice! Thanks, Kevin
I have literately just discovered your videos (and channel) after going on a RUclips spiral. I love your kitchen and I'm absolutely obsessed with your backplash. Looking forward to exploring your channel further and watching new content. Thank you for your work.
I design custom homes for a living, and I have to say that the pantry design is one of the best things I've seen in a long time. Such a great way to save on space and stay organized. Sam, your wife is a genius.
I'm two years late and you're likely already aware of this but in regards to the butcher block countertop and specifically the multicolor squares you mentioned, I can give you a bit of understanding there. The obvious aspect with the color change comes from two different types of wood, usually maple and another hardwood like birch. The reason they are in squares is because it's been positioned so the end grain of the wood creates your surface. The end grain is significantly harder than the side grain. For someone who intends to use a heavy cleaver to chop on a regular basis an end grain butcher block will hold up far longer than side grain. You can use one species of wood to do the same thing so you won't have the color difference and if the grain patterns are situated correctly it will look more like fewer pieces of wood. The seams really are hidden as a result of the grain direction and how well the wood pieces for planed and jointed before the glue up. Anyway, I love your channel and just thought I'd share a bit of info for anyone who cares.
Absolutely love how down to earth and genuine you are, thank you for the tour enjoyed it very much. looking forward to the outside grilling tour even more!
Hey sam! Just found your channel, im a San Diegan born and raised in east county. Love the kitchen i do remodeling for a living with my family. Im also teaching myself to cook for my family as i have a newborn at home! Your videos are great tools that help me learn new ways to provide a home cooked meal!
I enjoy cooking. It relaxes me. I'd cook more if my kitchen looked like that. But perchance to dream...Thanks for sharing. Looking forward to the outdoor stuff.
I was thinking about this yesterday while driving. Older man have all the rad shit. I'm only 34, but I plan to have ballin' cooking area sometime in the next 20 years. If my revenue-generating asset collecting does any good, hopefully in the next 5 or so... or something like that. I'm a software engineer so I do pretty decent. I just want enough room for every cooking tool and some pro grade heating appliances, and of course every radical spice known to man. Basically like this kitchen lol. I love the zebra cupboards and red backsplash. It works so well with the stainless and wood sprinkled throughout. Damn you old mans and your experience!!
Came for the recipes, but subscribed because this guy is humble. " I love my kitchen. I'm fortunate to be able to cook in this." People like that deserve all the cool stuff they have. Love that.
Well, 3 years later and I'm just seeing this for the first time. As to warming drawers: I have a warming drawer and I use it a lot. The primary mistake that kitchen designers and installers make is putting the warming drawer under the wall ovens by the floor. Who wants their food on the floor?! My warming drawer is at counter height, very convenient. It's great for parties where I have cooked ahead and can keep food warm and also serve right out of the drawer. I'm a big fan of your channel. keep up the good work.
At 8:10, lemon italian ice? I'm ready to learn this one, but how you do it. So... yeah, do it! That is one beauty of a kitchen, both in function and form. And all your gadgets! I love that magnetic knife block...
@@uhuya its similar to snow cones but way smoother. Snow cones get the syrup squirted on top after it's put into a cup, where Italian ice has its flavor mixed in. .. You can find a variety of flavors in your grocery's freezer dept.
Can be made at home but best with a Vitamix. Google for recipes using a variety of fruits. Mario's on Taylor St. in Chicago is where I had my first Italian Ice close to thirty years ago. Great stuff on a hot day and as a palate cleanser after a meal. The store brand Luigi's is loaded with sugar.
Damn it!!! We love your videos!!! I’m sure that you hear this all of the time... you make cooking fun for us. Yesterday my wife made breakfast & added red peppers, onions & spices to her scrambled eggs... she never does that! Thank you for doing what you do... & thank you Max for keeping his shit organized!!!
I remember coming home from school having your show on the fit TV (?) channel maybe (it's been awhile), recorded. You got me into cooking and addicted to microwaved precooked bacon for awhile lol. I will always support what you and your family accomplishes! Thank you for the time and effort with these vids! Quality AND Quantity! Love and Respect from Southeast GA!
NICE! LOVED seeing in behind all those shelves - the 4" idea is brill. That backsplash is something else! And your knife collection is OBSCENE! Can't wait to see the back! . . . not a euphemism.
Beautiful kitchen, the 4 inch pantry idea is genius. I have a large and deep pantry and I literally cleaned it out this weekend because some kids were having a food drive and had to throw away so much stuff that was expired, I had stuff that was from 2016 and 2017 in there.
Hi Sam! I’ve loved your kitchen from Day 1. When my parents built one of their homes in the 1970’s, my my Mom designed her pantry exactly like yours! She moved a few years ago and built a new house and did the same pantry design. The builder thought it was crazy until he saw it in person. I love your show and family, and can’t wait to cook more! Cheers!
I used to watch your show 9 years ago and went searching for you. Omg I’m so glad you have a RUclips channel. Love you’re uncensored personality and these T-shirt’s are fiyaaaaaa. Btw the warmed cabbage salad is like a staple for the last decade in my home. ❤️
Hey Sam! I'm glad my wife mentioned you today. She found a nice Asian sauce she needs for some vegetables we picked out today. I used to watch you on TV here in the Chicago area several years ago. The show vanished and didn't know you were on RUclips, etc. Glad to see your kitchen today. We need to update ours and may think about getting some of the stuff you have shown here. Great to find you man!!! Keep up the great work!
My husband is a Carpenter. He made my Dining table out of Maple and Walnut Doweling on the corners and on the tops of each leg. I love it! I'm going to hunt your tomato pasta sauce after i creep on your kitchen haha. Love the knife block. Thanks for sharing.
It's essentially a shallow bookshelf. Years ago, I wanted one for my hallway but never got around to it. It does need to be anchored to the wall, though, and can also be taken along when moving.
Even your cocktail choice is simple to make but adds depth. I think that’s a great way to describe your cooking at least if not your life. Simple but has depth. Cheers to your friend, I’ll have one for him tonight
Is there or going to be a segment on buying less expensive knives? You mentioned it on one of your shows. Your show is awesome Sam!!!! Thank you, for bringing it into everyones homes.
Love it. Definitely looking forward to the outdoors. We're waiting for the permits for our outdoor kitchen now. So want one of those flattop griddles, but alas - not in the cards.
The drink is like a whiskey buck but only with bitters added. Whiskey buck is. In a pint glass filled with ice. 2 oz.bourbon 1/2 oz. fresh Lime juice Top with ginger beer. Stir well and drink. Its delicious.
Teak is a very dense, close called wood with natural water and bacteria resistance. It's used exclusively in marine applications, such as boat decking, rails and trim because it just doesn't rot (minor maintenance and regular treatment with teak oil to rejuvenate keeps it like new for many years) and it's also used in tropical regions for outdoor kitchens, bars and other applications for food and contact with people and it's extremely easy to clean and sanitize. It doesn't harbor germs like other woods. And you pay for it. A lot.
I can't believe I just discovered your channel a few weeks ago. You're my fav. youtuber - love your style, love your cooking, love your love of Asian food bc I also love Asian food. Awesome stuff
I got Sam the Cooking Guy "Awesome Recipes & Kitchen Shortcuts" the book in the mail today! Friends dont miss out.. the excitement is uncontrollable!!! Xoxo
Love your pantry! It's extremely well organized. I thought I was the only one to organize. I've seen pantries that are so strewn you would have to waste time looking for one item. Thanks for the tour. Wish I had a kitchen like yours. Mine is small but it's well organized.
LOVE the pantry wall idea. My boss also has a huge picture wall like what you were going to do and it works for him but honestly, he would have been better off doing exactly what you did.
The knife block. I love that idea. Show off the blade profiles! Some of my knives were over $300 and you bet I want to show them off. Tossing my old block tomorrow!
I can hear watchers in disbelief at the wooden counter top comments, but you are 100% correct, natural anti bacterial and I would have that in my kitchen any day.
Should have mentioned the simple rug mat under the cutting board so that it doesn't slide! I thought I was the only one who did that! I shoot a ton of food videos and have granite countertops... Not having things slide on any countertop particularly when cutting is incredibly safe! Simple use that I think a lot of people don't know about rug mats
Sam thanks for the Q&A the other day. U answered my questions ;-) Love the kitchen tour and laughed out loud when you opened the second drawer! I too have an insanely number of "things" that only I would be attached to. In my postage-stamp sized kitchen, I love/live to cook as it preserves my sanity (such as it is) and appreciate that a cooks kitchen always has room for improvement or at least, "organization", only a cook would understand ;-) Cheers!
Love the thin pantry. Nothing hides out in the back where you can't find it. The kitchen faucet!!! You didn't mention it!!! Looks so awesome!! What make and model is it? I want one.
A wonderful kitchen, Sam! Maybe now that people have seen your tech they'll stop leaving the hate and calling you a bullshit sham of a chef when you prefer to buy pre-chopped veggies or you don't grind your own organic Himalayan rock salt. Seriously, that knife block is crazy! Keep up the good work.
Nice Sam, I actually remember after first watching your show what your old kitchen looked like. I think I remember one of your shows way back was noisy cause the next door neighbors were renovating.
Love your kitchen! I might steal some ideas there, namely the 4" deep pantry which I think is genius and the magnet wood block for your knives. You made me laugh out loud when you talked about the checkerboard motif cutting surface being too busy for your taste while having zebra cabinets and multicolored pattern backwall! Cheers from Montreal!
Great Job Sam. What a functional kitchen. I would like to know your favorite pots and pans. I'm new to your channel. I got hooked by watching and cooking your stir fry recipe. It's addictive. You're my new favorite chef. Keep up the great work.
Just found this channel. Gotta love a no bullshit chef and recipes that I can actually try cooking.
welcome to the nut house :P
Sam is an awesome presenter, down to earth but also highly knowledgeable about food.
Keep watching you’ll learn a lot.
Welcome you will absolutely love it here 🥂💃🏻💋♥️🤙🏽
Yeah definitely not ur average joe chef
Sam is the man
Show us the back yard set up next!
Do it now! I need to know what that slightly domed "flat top" cooking surface is called. LOL

"I open their fridge whether they are ok with it ot not." You're a natural - love your show. 👍🏼
That pantry idea is brilliant! I hate digging deep to find something!
That's what she said! Or uhh
If I gave my wife a 4” pantry she would be asking for 2 more inches. They’re never satisfied....
The sink! I was tired of the two sided junk, and mounted a huge extra large single. Always a worthwhile visit with Sam.
That pantry wall is the best thing ever!. No hidden bottles that get pushed to the back that never get found/used.

Great kitchen Sam ,I like the wood cutting board and wood prep area . Also the magnetic knife block 😊

Genius. Functional art! If I ever win the lottery, I'm ripping your kitchen plan off 100%!
That knife blocks looks like a quarter wheel of Gruyere. Awesome.
You are right about the ceramic knife, you I do love mine.
I use it mostly for cutting meat, and with that thing it's like cutting through wam butter!
