One cool trick for the ghost percussion channel is to put a vocoder in there somewhere. It makes it kinda noisy and "blurry", so it sounds a bit less like just delayed drum hits and more like this swooshy reverb thing that fills in the gaps between the drum hits. Doesn't always work but worth trying anyway!
The ghost notes via a send is an interesting one. Creating a unified ghost note across multiple percussion elements seems like it'd add both texture and coherence.
Use clip volume when chopping loops to still have control for mixing on the channel fader. Use drum racks to trigger single drums hits, it’s easier to control it with mpc or logic groove/swing presets that way. Slicing audio to midi is also a good idea like someone pointed out
Awsome tutorial!!! I’m have been watching your stuff for about a year and it has helped me so much !!! With my music !!! Just want to say thank you and keep them coming brother !!
Bip bip.. back to brush up on this good shit again.. you make me smile brother. Which sample pack of yours is currently the best for tech drums? Cheers
It would never have occurred to me to edit the Drum Loop on the Envelopes to remove the claps. What I was doing was moving the arrangement to remove the claps manually and then render. Thank you very much bro !!
Drumloops are not cheating, but creating everything from scratch is usually an 'Auto-Original' sound, In my opinion. You should be able to make a banging drumloop/drum parts, getting there will add all the necessary tools and technics you need. RUclips is full of the same tips etc. There are so many unique approaches that come with understanding the tools /combination of tools etc.
At 6:46 you can instead right click on the audio loop and select "Slice to new MIDI track". This will chop the sample by transients (or by note length if you choose) and then you can mute notes that you didn't like or move them around. Would be much quicker to experiment with, than painting the volume automation.
very nice, on your example of lowering volume of sample, i only do that on session view but in arrengment mode, i beilive its easier to delet parts you dont like then consolidate as a single sound, this way you have a better visual perception
Nice video as always, I like the sound of these drums Kick & Snare & hats & claps where I can buy similar are you selling on a web page & if yes which pack Tech House ? Thanks a lot
beep beep. HP from Germany checkin in. Great video and thanks for all the work you put into your videos! Where can I download the LFO Midi maxforlive...can't find it....
@@Stratlover ya it all comes down to preference. I've used logic as well and its also pretty good. You really can't go wrong with any DAW if you know how to use it
ozone 9 exciter, saturn and inflator saves my drums every fuckin’ time

or a flanger !
Yooo I bloody died at 13:50 with your "mamasita" freestyle 😂❤🤣
Homie switch the clap over to the classic mode in the simpler and just automate the sustain knob. ;)
man that ghost perc tip changed my life for sure!!
You can automate the length of the Clap by using LFO from Max for Live. Set a Saw LFO Shape and map it to the length of the sample in Simpler.
You can also set your drums in gate mode so the midi clip lenght actually reflects the lenght of the audio
you can set the sampler from trigger to gate and automate the fade out knob!
Life Changing BBBYYYY
If you want a masterclass in Accentuation listen to any ODESZA track 🙌
Bruh I’ve been holding off buying presets and sample packs but I’ve gained so much from this I’m buying deceiver to support you
You won't be disappointed
Drum loops editing is so key, great tut

Massive tip in the secret section!! I do this with sidechain, but this is much better!!
Ricooo, buena vibra ✌️
The drum loop idea was awesome, never thought of taking hits out with volume automation
13:48 best part of Tutorial

Been here since 2018 and its crazy to see how good youve gotten at both video and music production!! Keep it up bro!
Zen world always makes sure i get some new inspiration! 😎
love it!!
use the fade in and out knobs on your clap or hi hats and it helps you fade in and out dynamically like your talking about
you can map an lfo to the fade out when you wanna alter the length of the clap/hat on midi
that was so cool man
great details.
Bro you the Goat so much inspiration!
Switch to classic control on the Ableton sampler and the automate the sustain or decay....that is how you can automate the length of a drum sample.
I was just gonna comment this lol
or in 1-shot mode switch it from trigger to gate and change the length of midi notes
This is TOP knowledge, thank you very much!
great tutorial and tips

I agree. But probably he was working with a drumloop. So he didn't make it personally. I usually use drumloops too, I don't make them from scratch.
this was great

Hope your doing well man . Your videos and talent is so underrated . Keep it up friend

Nicely done. What is the Vocal Eye randomizer? Where to get it or how to create it?

I love Fl studio, but those editing opportunities in ableton make me extremely jealous
wich ones?
I switched to Ableton 3 months ago and will never go back to FL

When you use loops in this way, how do you make sure it doesn't clash with the swing that you may have on your track?
How do you defined tech house exactly? Is it halfway between techno and house?
nice
6:38 You want to use CLIP, not MIXER. Otherwise you are automating your channel volume.
whats the name of that last track? if loooove to remix it!! 17:48
I was surprised you left out making specific drum sounds early or late.
random question but how do you solo multipole tracks at the same time?
with the randomize LFO, I feel like Chris Lake used something like that in turn off the lights maybe???
Or he just vocal chopped it lmaooo
