    Resampling has become a really powerful tool for me, useful for creating nice transitions that fit the track to really nice atmospheres that help tie the track together and sometimes really crazy elements that you wouldn't have found in a soundbank or sample pack. Thanks for the video man, a lot of solid techniques!

      Yes!! I’ve been trying to incorporate this into my soundbanks a bit more movements. Definitely agree that you can’t get many of those intricacies from samples or soundbanks that would fit your track

    Adding to layers during climax: You can have a single clap dead center for verses and then add a super wide stereo clap for the chorus. It will make the drums sound bigger, Specially when listening in stereo.

    you can use BIP (MAX for live) instead of resampling. put BIP on your master channel ( or whereever you want it really does not matter) on your template and solo the track press on BIP it will automatically create a channel and record whatever is being played. then go and solo the new track was recorded by bip and add more fx on it maybe and press BIP again. this makes it very easy to create multiple interesting sounds with one button each time. I have BIP on my default template.

    Haven't watched your videos for a while but finally here to learn something, and I must say I like the new HUD and visuals you are using , like the overall concept, although I'm not a fan of having the camera on when you are showing stuff on the screen, personally yours is still okay and overly in my face. Wanted to add this feedback on the visual side of things. Regarding audio and music production quality is still top notch and helpful! :) Thank you mister!!!!

    I feel like my main problem is generating ideas. I lay ouy the groove, drums sound tight and bass sounds good enough but when comes to synths, hooks and melodies I get stuck. How to overcome it? I produce tech house and have Dont Blink as my main reference today. Their interview with you is very cool but doesnt show much about this part. Cheers Samuel!

    • @reverbate
      @reverbate 2 года назад +1

      When referencing I feel like I'm copying their tracks and not creating something original

    • @ZenWorld
      @ZenWorld  2 года назад +1

      @@reverbate Referencing in the beginning as carbon copies is fine. If you find your stuff is up their in quality just use their references for the arrangement and mix downs. For melody one thing I've noticed with the interviews I've done with artist is that they usually use the notes from their bass to create the melody and do octave jumps etc. Another tip I can give you is to use Synth Loops from sample packs until you find something you like and keep it or mimic it with your own sound. It's hard for sure that's why it's creative hobby, we just have to fight it.

    Early dubstep was TERRIBLE at a
    having loop mentality. It would be a 3min song that is basically a 1:50min song on repeat.
    I really try my damnedest to have my b drop sound similar, but different enough from the a drop to not seem like a carbon copy.

    If you analise comercial music, it's 95% copy/paste first to second drop, maybe added a hat, nobody tryes hard, aspecialy the famous one, but when make very interesting music where it's a story audience either ignore because it's not that not standard and every moment is unique and atmospheric or because you weren't born with money or brain power to promote your stuff properly, hence they never check and quality of your music - does not matter(the N1 thing nowadays), but with whom you have connections. Great example is Spinnin rec, the most boring tracks is in TOP 10, most extraordinary is around 200+. The question is, do people need interesting music? That is why techno is the most popular genre in clubs if not in the world, even Hardwel killed Big room for that - BORING AS FUCK is what 99% people want, otherwise jobs from 9 to 5 that 99% of population is taking would be rare and everyone would be an enterpreneur and living interesting life.

    Seriously don't want to sound disrespectful...but this is what you teach?
    Use random plugins over generic chord progressions and melody generators?
    Who are these students?
    Can they even make a 45 seconds music piece without Ableton effects?
    Please learn and teach them how to play at least the money chords ( at least number system) and how to write a melody above the chord progressions.
    EDM is already irritating...don't make it even worse.
    Learn to play at least one freaking instrument.
