As someone whose dna was changed by the sims 3 as a 12 year old, “Based on how it runs, you could almost argue this game doesn’t want to be played” is SO real
YEAH
Idk, I remember it running just fine back then, why is it so terrible on newer computers?
@@mrmr4622 it doesn't recognize graphic cards that came out later than the last dlc to the sims 3 and some other, also newer things. so if you want your game to run smoothly on the newer stuff you have to do a lot of customizing yourself, which not everyone knows they have to do or how to do it
@@mrmr4622Rose colored glasses. It always ran awfully from day 1 of the base game, but we usually remember vibes instead of concrete things, so you remember the game being fun but have forgotten all the issues you had along the way.
@Mike-di1og This is partially true. Some people never had issues with Sims 3 even on older, cheaper computers even back then and some people have always encountered problems even on higher end computers regardless of when they played the game. You want your computer to be just right for Goldilocks because of what @MayHave mentioned.
This is from the NRaas recommendations page:
Are you playing on a computer with a modern and/or higher-end dedicated graphics card? The game has no functional built-in fps limiter. Running at fps rates higher than your monitor can interpret *will degrade performance and can ultimately damage your card and your system.* Use the relevant Nvidia or AMD tools to arrange vertical sync and cap the in-game frame rate to the refresh rate of your monitor. Most monitors are 60 Hz so that would be 60 fps; some can run higher.
TS3 does not require the most modern of graphics cards by current standards, especially compared with other games, but playing on a system with integrated graphics or a very low-end card can be very limiting and game play can suffer.
Also the Sims 3 is coded with terrible optimization in general and a lot of crashes can be attributed to routing errors. NRaas has a ton of tips as well as mo ds for getting the game to run with fewer issues. Sims 3 has some great game play but perhaps some of the worst bugs too.
Btw if you don't see this reply when you click on it from an e mai l then it was recycled because of certain keywords and trying to figure out which ones doomed it will be too much trouble, so I hope this is okay.
TS4 did one thing right and it was CAS and BB. Building in Sims 3 has the most customization, but it’s definitely less enjoyable to use and can be slow and tedious.
As far as gameplay, TS2 and TS3 absolutely eat TS4’s lunch
What is a "BB"? , also you say that ts4 did one thing right but you writer two things, you want to explain this for us please
I honestly wish someone would make a sims fangame that's TS2 (artstyle, personality, animations, attention to detail, atmosphere), TS3 (open world, create-a-style, things to do, insane amount of moodlets) and TS4 (CAS and build mode) combined
@caiden2527 bb is a free build cheat
Edit: actually it's a bunch of different cheats
@@caiden2527it's short for build - buy menu
Adding occults to this list. With the exception of mermaids occults in TS4 are much better than their TS3 counterparts
the sims 3 ran like a brick through a window, but it just had so much and sims 2 & 3 are constant reminders of how much they've taken from us
Can we just talk about how cool the debug tools were for sims 3. The whole World Adventures pack functioned off them and it was so intelligent and well made. You could rig your own dungeons. I loved it, there is nothing quite like it in the Sims 2 or the Sims 4!
I, too, grew up on the Sims 3, so the room markers were such a nice flashback!!
Ohhh making your own dungeons! Those were the days!! ❤
@spacewolfcub I used to make like apartments inside the pyramids, too. lol used cheats to delete or change the traps. Or just move the mummies when I couldn't be bothered, lol
Speaking of Generations, the one thing I missed from TS3 Generations that didn’t make it to TS4 is the Imaginary Friend. I had such a great time making my Sim kids’ imaginary friends real.
Same!! :(
That.. thing.. terrified me as a kid it still does 😢
It honestly baffled me that a lot of people hated or were terrified of the Imaginary Friends cuz I liked them.
I liked making storylines where the kid and the IF grew up and got together lol. Kinda like a magical version of a childhood friend romance haha
@@LyraAurora EXACTLY THIS!!
Childhood friends to romantic interests between 2 Sims 🙅♀️
Childhood friends to romantic interests between a Sim and their imaginary friend 🙆♀️
I miss the opportunity to send my child to boarding school xd
i used to LOVE bridgeport because it’s so gloomy and cozy 😭 now i love when it rains in san myshuno so its all cloudy and it reminds me of sims 3 :))
In build mode, with cheats on, you can shift click on your neighbours’ doors (doors between a room with a public marker and a room with a hidden marker) to “allow NPCs” so you would have non-playable sims show up and live there. They would go in and out and you can knock on their doors and chat and hangout with them and befriend them. And no, your sim doesn’t own the whole building, only the rooms with neither public nor hidden room markers.
wow that is such a great feature
When you said the Sims 3 is just this dark I finally understood. I always thought about the Sims 3 as I was always playing at night (like in memories I always imagine my Sims at night). Now I understand why, because the game itself is always dark. This would have been a huge adjustemnt to just brighten it. But you know, now we have TS4 and I liked it so much when I first started the game in 2014 and it was sooo light.
Burntwaffles had some great lighting mods that blended lighting from different worlds so that every world you played in could be brighter and look better.
@@cursedseagullgamesI was about to say. Lighting mods are a must for TS3.
@@cursedseagullgames if I ever come back to TS3 i will try them, but when i played TS3 I only added little CC and no mods really
@@iris-christina The ways sims is now, having some QoL mods are an absolute must in order for the game to run smoothly. Simler90's core mod being chief among them, since they fixed many things EA never bothered to. There's also modifying the ini file if you really want to be particular, where you can turn off bloom and modify the sims' collision threshold (personally turn that way down, so now sims can pass each other in single tile halls).
There's also Alpha1295's GPU add-on support, which is less a mod and more a separate utility to put your graphics card in for you instead of doing it manually. Granted, this isn't something you need to do, but there are some crashes in the sims 3 that are related to it just freaking out over not recognizing the graphics card. Running the add-on patches your gpu info into one of the files, so it fixes that.
Well, it's true. But also lighting depends from the world you choose. Isla Paradiso is kinda bright and Midnight Hollow one of the darkest worlds.
I loved Bridgeport so much! The worlds in Sims 3 were SO GOOD
It really was.
TS2 really has the gold standard for apartments. You can have multiple playable families live in the same building as separate households (in TS3 it's only one apartment and the rest are townie generating doors with no apartment attached to it) and sometimes they'll make noise and wake up your Sims, so you'd have to bang on the walls for them to stop and things like that. Plus you could interact in cute ways with your neighbors like visiting them and throwing parties in the common areas and asking them to watch your kids while you're out... If TS4 is bringing back this kind of experience then I'm guessing it's gonna be good.
Sims 4 already have good features on apartments it's almost at the same level as sims 2 but is going to be improved even more
as someone who plays the sims 3 all the time, the sims 4 seems so bright to me 😭
Sims 4 Sims slow eating while over acting disturbed me off much more to be off from Sims 4 , others r drm and cutting parts from base games and many dlcs yet still feels incomplete
Yeah, the sims 3 has the most out of place shader compared to all of the other games. It’s very dark, like everything is shaded with black… I really can’t play without a lightning and shading mod.
@@fishseasdefinitely lol. I mean it’s supposed to be realistic so
The Sims 2 really does have the gold standard for apartments... even compared to whatever's coming in For Rent, based on what the community has seen.
Yeah, Sims 2 seems to have gotten apartments the most right so far.
I loved how u could ask your neighbours to babysit for free ): i thought it was so cute
YES i used this all the time because i had a on purpose ''poor'' single mom household and she had twins.@@fernanda5487
Sims 2 IS the sims gold standard for almost everything
Honestly I’m not mad at the fact that I cannot edit pre-existing apartments, because I live in an apartment and I cannot change windows, so it’s realistic.
you also can’t drop a house realistically from the sky and slide windows and walls around. You can’t sit a toilet in a room and have it work without running plumbing for it or have lights work without electrical wire. Half the game since Sims 1 has been being able to knock dow the walls of your home and rebuild. Something not possible in real life, house or apartment.
@@TheDawnofVanlife wow chill, they were just giving their own opinion on why they are okay with how apartments are. They aren't the one who made them that way 😂
I agree. I also dont mind restrictions. It adds a fun challenge. It's literally an in game shell challenge lol
Plus iirc all it takes is one cheat and you can move the windows and such in the apartments in Sims 4.
@@moonlitxangel5771 I *think* you need a mod. I'm not sure though.
Loved making a whole apartment building in sims 3 from scratch & placing public markers for community spaces like a gym/laundry & lobby
You can follow the Steam Performance Guide and make the game run well. It’s always going to lag if you don’t have the fixes since the hardware is just too new. We even have fixes for slow CASt.
+++! I blindly followed it and my game works fine. No lag at all, neither in CAStyle nor in live mode, even on the fastest speed.
Thanks, I’ve been playing the sims 3 for years and didn’t know this was a thing, will try now.
Tell em! 😭
8:40 it goes on sale regularly - on Steam, that is. Also, highly recommend getting an auto save mod, it works even if you're in build mode
ugh I miss Bridgeport. It was such and amazing world! It had the downtown city but then the greater city area with the outskirts. It was my favorite world in sims 3.
Am I the only one who doesn't mind the TS3 graphics bcuz they feel cozy but cannot stand how absolutely lifeless sims 4 sometimes looks (like, different characters doing the same poses bcuz their traits and subject of conversation don't affect them as much)? TS3 just feels nostalgic like drinking cocoa with your family when it's almost Christmas while sims 4 feels like those play dough suprise eggs videos some if us watched as kids
I love when we re-visit the previous sims games!
Yep. The Sims 2 apartments were awesome, even if you did have to use cheats to change the lot type and the units were delineated by a single door type (the one with the welcome mat) and that door had to be the only exit into the common area (you could have a completely fenced in exterior area attached to your apartment, though). It also gave you Townie neighbours in the rest of the apartments on the lot, though only a single Townie (who were in the social groups added with the expansion - which ones you got depended on the value of the lot) in each unit - but those were actual rentable units, so you could go visit them (or have playable Sims move in, of course - plenty of 'em in the Sim Bin for that).
The Sims 3's version were a huge disappointment. Can't even visit the neighbours because their units don't actually exist. :(
Different is now u can visit them in their normal hourse (not like in s2), visit them in other apartment + u can see them outside of house and doing something
Tho im also sad that they do that just so your npc sims service live there
Changing lot zone is not a cheat it's just a command, no need cheats to build apartments in sims 2
@@gabrielandy9272ALL commands you enter in the cheat console are cheat commands. There are also the debug commands (boolprop testingcheatsenabled true), but even the non-testingcheats are cheats.
"they only have kinda old looking tvs" lol I fully expected to see an old tube tv, I feel old now remembering a time before flatscreens 😂
This... makes me miss Sims2. And the thing is Sims2 Apartments was not even that great, mainly because you had to use a specific door for it. And that was the only downside that I can remember tbh. It had elevators, spiral staircases, a landlord would just take care of everything around. Everything worked fine. And I also loved sims3, but yeah it is... slow and really dark (I understand why, because of the open world, but my god sometimes it was so annoying) and that was why I always prefered sims2, it had loading screens but it was so much more bright and everything worked
Late night was my fave!! Expansion of 3! The glamour, the celebrity, the vampires!!! It was everything ❤
Im more partial to Seasons & Supernatural because I think they gave the most flavor to the game. But Late Nigh was fabulous too.
@ seasons andddd supernatural were amazing. For me I had always wanted apartments when it came out. Vampires are my fave supernatural and cmon the celebrity aspect I mean it was just immaculate ❤️🔥 thanks for commenting 💖
Generations, Seasons, and Pets are basically essentials in my eyes, but Late Night is a top tier expansion. Awesome world, cool celebrity mechanics, getting to explore the night life... pretty awesome.
@ yesss to alll!! Pets and season especially ✨ although the city of pets wasn’t my fav, I was super here for it! I loved the night life and expansion of careers through that city and the people were all chill asf 😂🤣 happy to found my peeps 💝
I grew up with the original sims and sims 2, but when the sims 3 came out it was so infuriating to use because of the lag and took forever to build anything because of the over-customization features. So I literally played it once at my neighbors house and never did again. I still play the sims 2 every now and again because to me it's just still great. Lol
I miss having pet birds, the animation when you place two bird stands was cute.
Wait, having two birds near each other had a special animation? 😮
I loved Bridgeport, but I could never play for more than a few minutes before the lag would begin. After a short time the lag made the world unplayable, and to this day I'm sad I was never able to really explore Bridgeport.
Yeah Bridgeport and Isla Paradiso were probably two of the worst when it comes to lag. Personally I found the least laggy one to be whatever world it was that came with Supernatural. Moonlight Falls (pretty sure it was named after Mystic Falls from Vampire Diaries lol).
@@moonlitxangel5771 Oh wow, yes, Isla Paradiso too! Such a beautiful world but completely unplayable after a while 🙈
And the mermaids kept swimming everywhere instead of for example using a boat, so they were constantly late for work 🤣 Like, it would be time to go home before they even got there! 😂 If I had two mermaids living together and they worked opposite sides of the world, at least one of them could just forget about their job, 'cause no matter where they live, one will be too far away from work! 🤣
@@moonlitxangel5771 the university world and the pets world installed together was a MESSSSS (also just university alone)
I swear I grew up on the sims 3, like I played it my ENTIRE childhood and partly into my teens years until 2015 when I got TS4 for xmas. The memories that returned are just ✨️
Kayla's frustration with building in the sims 3 is exactly how I feel building in the sim 4! I used to love building houses across the first three sims games then sims 4 came along and changed so much! made things so much more finnicky than they need to be!
EXACTLY, even though its like "ooh its easier£, I'm not bothered if its easier, it's soo annoying, sure you can resize objects, but why would you, I always forget how to expand rooms and add foundations but the worst part is the shift clicking on floors and wallpaper, in sims 3, it would on;y do walls/floors of the same type, whilst sims 4 does it by room, and also everyone overlooks sims 3 details that are common knowledge in 4, they say theres no blueprints, when there are nd that it doesn't let you have a fire with no chimney, you can you just have to use moveovbects for that to be the case, anyway, you know what I mean. Sims 3 Rocks!
You sound like one of those old people that doesn't want to learn new things..
@@Eventide215 lol! not at all, not old and always willing to learn new stuff, just saying sims 4 took a few steps backwards with the building, UI and features.
@@HazmattiIn what way? The BB UI is practically the same.. and building is far more advanced in Sims 4 than literally any other iteration. The only things Sims 4 took steps backwards on, that the entire community agrees with, is actual gameplay and sim personality.
@@alexplayz1oo2 I resize objects so that they fit where I want them to or so they can be bigger if I want a cheap big TV (for example). Expanding rooms and adding foundation are incredibly intuitive so idk how you have trouble with that. You can literally do the expanding thing the same as TS3 if you wanted to make it harder/more finicky on yourself and foundation you literally grab the arrow pointing up when selecting the building and pull it up. In TS3 it was significantly more obtuse because if you didn't already know about it you could make an entire build and have to destroy it to add foundation.
As for the chimney thing, I have no idea what you mean. You can have a fire with no chimney and if you want one you don't have to use moveobjects. Unless you're talking about TS3 there which would make more sense cuz iirc you had to have a chimney and so it really got in the way of building.
I play the sims 3 on a 5 yr old laptop, fairly young but its a laptop only designed for running Microsoft apps and pretty video streaming .
I have all Expansion pack and stuff packs enabled, 65+ mods , 40 CC, and even run Nraas Story Progression which is notorious for causing insane lag and breaking the game yet i run it just fine.
One performance mod isn’t going to cut it, you need to use mods that tackle issues that cause lag (like routing issues in Isla world). Clearing cache is a necessity, i also re verify my game files through steam per play and i can guarantee you if my laptop runs it smoothly, you especially could on a decent PC . There’s honestly no excuse as my laptop opens the game in 2-5 mins max , ill share my essential mods if anyone would like to .
Why did they change so much about the sims? Imagine if they kept all the stuff they took out from sims 3. That would be so dope!
I looove building my own apartments and shared lots in the sims 2! The hidden/public room thing from the sims 3 is interesting, I’ve never seen that since I haven’t played it. The thing that bothered me with the sims 2 was not being able to have a back door to a shared garden for example since you could only have one door with outside access per apartment
I used to always use cheats to see the hidden and public markers and delete them, and then build crazy apartments for my rich sims.
Dude building in the sims 3 was so upsetting that all I would do is build long boxes and in sims 4 i actually enjoy building more complex stuff
ur not building right
Simsie talking about how many glitches and crashes she had to deal with... Reminds me of my other favorite video game as a kid. Spore. 😂
I just wish we got penthouse shells like we had in late night. To make actual skyscrapers
You’re younger than me so our experiences are a bit different. I remember watching my dad playing the sims 1 & I got to play for an hour every once in awhile when I was 9/10. I remember the trailers for sims 2 when I was 11 & how excited I was for it & was so amazed by its realism (honestly if you compare it to the sims it really was a wild improvement) now looking back it was a lot more blocky than I remember. I also remember when the sims 3 came out & I was excited cause I thought it’d be even better than the sims 2, but I was honestly so let down. It was like I step back in my eyes & the glitches were unbearable. I didn’t play it for more than 10 hours total even though I bought it with my own teenage money. The sims 4 brought me back & even with some of its setbacks, I think it really does bring back my love that I had for it as a child. So I cannot relate to the gushy feelings the sims streamers I watch have for the sims 3, but I’m kind of jealous I don’t cause there are some things I know I would have loved about it, I just couldn’t get past the cartoonish ui & the way the sims looked & of course the lagging. Rip lol
You and I are about the same age and I have the same feelings. The Sims 3 was so bad (to me) that I stayed away from the Sims 4 for years. I just assumed nothing would ever compare to the Sims 2. Now, I think I like TS4 even more.
@@SamtheShyOneI didn’t even start playing TS4 until 2020. I was on the road traveling for 5 years before that so I was quite literally living under a rock in the woods without a laptop, let alone a computer or Wi-Fi lol. So when I did start playing I was so happy to feel that same sense of wonder I had as a child for the sims. I know there’s some annoyances & I miss so many of the features from TS2, but I’m still so much happier with TS4 than I ever was with TS3. I know I missed out on some stuff, but with how much they update the game I’m grateful I can still subjectively enjoy it.
Same. Im also around your age. I remember playing sims 3 and just not having fun with it. I started playing TS4 late too and I loved it. But everyone kept saying Sims 3 was better so i bought it on Steam to see what I missed. I hated it so much I unisntalled it and got a refund. I thought I was alone in this camp.
@@danithoI was so angry about it. Trust me the 40$(?) I spent on the physical game hurt me when I didn’t have a lot of money, but I was so annoyed every time I tried to play it I stopped playing & never looked back. The open world was cool, I liked being able to just run to the gym or a cafe or play chess on the beach, but I just wasn’t happy with the loss of realism in the graphics. I liked the sims & TS2 because it felt real in my child brain & I could make characters that looked like real people, but the sims in TS3 looked so odd to me I couldn’t get past that at all. Took all the fun out of it for me I’d talk so much shit about them to my dad, like “who signed off on this?!” I never bought a single expansion pack that’s how long I lasted playing it. I don’t think an expansion had even come out yet when i put it down & never touched it again. I’m honestly glad I didn’t spend any more money on it, but sometimes I wonder if I could have gotten past it, but my life was fine without it 😅 I’d say first gen stuff is always gonna have bugs & not be as enjoyable, but I loved everything about TS2 from the get go so I don’t feel bad about not enjoying TS3, I thought I was being punked. “Wait, this is what I was hyped for?! No…” but again I can understand people who grew up with it not knowing any better could enjoy it cause they weren’t jaded from the jump lol my love for TS2 was just too strong & embedded.
TS3 Late Night apartments kinda function like a condo, you buy that unit and pay bills like normal house lots.
If you also have TS3 University Life EP, it came with the rental lot option. So you can pay rent with much lower rate. But to be warned, rental lot will automatically assign you with 7 other NPC roommates which can be reset for lower numbers or no roommate by the in-game cellphone.
So happy to finally have the sims 3 back again so I can actually play the game without getting bored. I’ll keep my sims 4 for build mode only
The apartments in Sims 2 were fantastic! 🤩 I made so many of them. I even tried to build a Christmas Village in the style of what you see in garden centres around the holidays and it never quite worked out 😅
Sims 3 apartments will always slap 😩💕
Edit: at least for me lmao
i genuinely love when you do sims 3 videos and play it :]
lilsimsie, your content has a special place in my heart
I am currently playing ts3 on origin and I have to say while it was not my favourite at the time because the characters CAS look a little ballony to me, the nightlife neighborhood has such eerie vibes and I love to follow my sims through town (even when they do weird stuff like getting the tube and then taxi). And I also love the view from the apartments windows. I like to play close up, walls up games and the eerie, liminal vibe really fits my gameplay. Anything is better than ts4 btw, despite having spent a lot of money on it :(((
Honestly the lag is why I’m not mad Sims 4 isn’t open world. I remember trying to play Sims 3 and I’d get stuck on 20 minute loading screens. I’d literally start the game and then go and eat a whole meal while I waited for it to load because it took so long. And sometimes it still wasn’t done when I got back.
Thats why you need mods :) Very popular one is Nraas, which allows you to reset your whole town if the game becomes laggy, then its all smooth.
is it just me that the sims 3 runs really well on my computer? lmao
ts3 has aged wonderfully, especially if you find a good setup guide.
I got the Sims 3 starter bundle when I was first gifted the game (after wanting it for years) and Late Night was the best thing to happen to me. Almost 6 years later and I had no idea this cheat existed. You've just changed my life - I won't be getting off Sims for the next 3 months😂
There's also a mod that tries to implement a Sims 2-like apartments to Sims 3, it's pretty good
I've been meaning to try that one. Ani's apartment mod on the NRAAS website.
"So 2009" as she places down a commadore computer. That is much older than 2009. Use to play on one when I was a little kid. Ugh I feel old now XD
The whole of the sims 3 makes the sims 4 look bad-
Sims 3 makes Sims 4 look bad by default... and that's coming from someone who didn't play on the Sims 3 era entirely xD
I'm happy that EA/Maxis made For Rent a lot type that can be set to any lot and isn't just set to some of the lots in the new world like the apartments in CIty Living where.
Dyeing at 'we only have kind of old looking tv's' 😂 They were new looking when the game came out 🤣😭
i actually just bought the sims 3 this weekend and it is unbelievably frustrating compared to the sims 4 in terms of lag. i had to keep going back to the sims 4 after becoming angry at the lag
If u config sims3 it is pretty nice to play, there are some tutorials how to do it.
The Sims 3 is a 14 year old game. To get it (or any game that old) to work its best usually requires some tweaking. Also, try disabling some of the packs that are hardest on performance (Pets, Island Paradise, Seasons), and see how that goes.
That being said, playing an older game can require a certain amount of "I'm willing to put up with some inconveniences to play this."
Heya, I highly recommend looking up how to clear the Sims 3’s cache. I clear the cache every time I run the game using a batch file, so all I have to do is double-click the icon from my desktop. VAST improvement.
As a general tip, going from build to buy if the game lags while in Create-a-Style or Create-a-Sim is a good idea. If you’ve had 3 hours of lag less play, then it suddenly gets worse, save, close, clear cache, restart.
The reason for some lag is the game stores recent actions to allow you to click undo and depending on the changes this can end up complex (remembering values for modified textures). Some lag is the action queue getting stuck; it isn’t prioritising actions correctly so the Sim stares off into space for 20 sim minutes. There’s a mod that overhauls this and pretty much resolves it entirely.
Number 1 pet peeve in Sims 3 is the fact that you can’t save in build mode. You literally have to go to live mode and how many times did the game crash on my when I tried to go live and save 😮
Let’s just admit every thing about the sims 3 makes the sims 4 look bad 😂
Fr
No
except the graphics 😅
@@katiedavis2100i was just about to say, everything but the graphics
specially the lagging 😍
You know, this is when I tend to feel old lol, I’ve been playing the sims since the beginning, and for me it’s sims 2 that is near and dear. I remember being so excited when sims 2 first came out and they had fingers 😂
I like the idea of static apartment dimensions - it makes real world sense. I wouldn't have minded some more apartment options though, and real neighbors on your floor would have been pretty cool.
Your cat is a ADORABLE!!! And I didn't really play video games as a kid, but this is definitely part of my teenage years, same as the clothes and hairstyles! I literally played on a white blocky version of that computer you bought! and I never knew you could build apartments. I wish they updated this so it didn't lag so much. I love Sims 4 but there's just something about the Sims 3.
I used to use the seasons markers so I could have houses and lots that would automatically decorate for every season
I miss playing the sims 3 so much. I grew up playing that game, but after playing the sims 4 for so many years, I can’t take the lag and the initial loading time. My laptop takes like 15 minutes to load the world then it crashes and I have to reload. I love open world, but I’ll take the sims 4’s loading screens over that any day 😂
Mods hun, MODS. And lemme tell ya, Sims 4 shouldn't lag but it does and it doesn't have open world, you tell me. I mean, sims 2 doesn't lag and it's CLOSED WORLD with LOADING SCREENS. Make it make sense.
I mean, you're running it on a laptop. Of course it will lag. You need a decent SSD to run it. Takes mine 4 minutes, maybe 6 on my PC. As well as NRAAS mods and/or smooth patch.
love you simsie, you bring me so much joy
I honestly don't think this is better than Sims 4's execution. Looking at the old City Living apartments it's basically the same thing; a fake husk with a couple of apartments (or in this case, ONE apartment). Looking at For Rent, it's not even a comparison anymore.
For me I’m not really that upset about windows , BUT IF I COULD CHANGE THE WALLHEIGHT AND maybe the apartment doors because with the tall wall height apartments the short nubs and of doors just don’t work
i played sims 3 more than sims 4, despite its lags and crashes , she still my bestie that i love very much, I learn to live with the lack of flexibility in the build / buy mode in the sims 3 and make most of it, its not the best but shes trying
Some video ideas for you because I’m not as creative as you! An roller skating rink/arcade would be super cool as a date night lot and also a photo studio, different rooms for different seasons so your sims can go and get pictures done and you can hang them up, fall themed rooms, Christmas backgrounds, spring. Fun idea!
genuinely I play the sims 3 every night I have no idea how this is giving you so much trouble its my favorite game of all time
I’m so excited for the apartments!!! I loved the old ones, these ones must be better! I hope they have places you don’t have a loading screen for tho, because that is a really good feature. I always make my university sims stay in apartments because it’s realistic lol
now that we know how the apartments look in for rent, I wish the sims team had gone with the ‘blackout’ of other apartments instead of just showing them unfurnished. idk, it bothers me a bit and will definitely take some getting used to 😕
This is weird, i still play the sims 3 and it is never this laggy for me. Maybe her computer is just to good the game is confused?
sims 3 was my childhood game too i remember acting like im sick so i can skip school and play the game all day but i can't stand it now because of the lag and bugs still has a special place in my heart tho :')
Simsie if you shift click the neighbors doors in build mode you can “create npc door” and a random townie will live there!
Well, I just learned a new thing. I've been playing this game for years and I never knew that.
@@sugaloaf9889 yess theres so many small details like that for developers i use it all the time when renovating apartments especially if theres like no neighbors😫
bridgeport is a rlly scary city in connecticut: when i used to live there that was a place you just didn’t go to
The cat cam is essential
The way I was OBSESSED with this expansion pack!!!! It would take 48 hours to load but I was locked in!
sims 3 build mode is so nostalgic and beautiful for me
As someone who started playing with TS4 nostalgia seems to be a hell of a drug lol but it’s cool to see what features they’re bringing into the new pack
Yeah I agree, I mean I’ve heard the gameplay is so much better in ts3, but apart from that I don’t get why people put down the sims 4 in every other aspect when comparing the two. Like I’m sure it’s a good game but I feel like a lot of people are blinded by nostalgia, so they ignore the flaws of the ts3, (horrible lag, questionable graphics etc ) and can’t enjoy the newer sims games, so as a result complain about everything the sims 4 does. It honestly gets on my nerves tbh.
I played every Sims pc game and as one of the people that doesn’t exaggerate how good the previous games were, I can definitely tell you that people are blinded by nostalgia. Sims 3 has its good aspects, but it’s borderline unplayable and like Simsie said herself, the sims are way dumber.
It's been a while since I played TS3. I didn't do much building in this game because I didn't like the limitations of building in it. Most of my builds looked like disasters when I finished them. Plus, the gallery always had a nice selection to choose from.
The title for this video is the opposite of how Lilsimsie was describing all the problems with TS3. It was always problematic, even when you had all the mods for making it run better. One thing I found, is the game saves better if you save frequently. (It was worse when I had Windows XP, because that OS couldn't use more than a bit of the RAM, no matter how much RAM you had installed. I learned to save frequently. Even when playing, if I didn't save at least once every "SimDay" it would crash, and sometimes even with a partial "SimDay.")
By the way, TS3 was on sale this past week. (It appears that the sale is over.) I couldn't see how much it was selling for (because I already "own" it.)
There’s also a lot type for apartments in the Sims 3. I’ve always wanted to build one but never had the patience 😂
I have a completely black cat and we keep confusing her with clothes/blankets etc 😅 she’s my favorite thing ever
Cat cam is everything ❤
the funny thing is with all its loading time and crushes me as a kid was still willing to sit through hours of that only to play a little before it crushes again 😭 I was sooo obsessed with this game
We Lovee yourrr vidddsss and you inspire us for builds You are great
It's cool to use hidden room on community lots where you need to build "fake rooms" and to play its more interesting with the hidden mark
If Simsie is comparing TS4 to Older Sims games. Imagine how different The Sims 200 will be from The Sims 4.
Hopefully not lmao, as much as I love The Sims this franchise has to end one day 💀
@@jessicarvalho13 yeah it would get boring after some point
@@jessicarvalho13EA does not care look at how many FIFA games they made
It got boring after 3, what do you mean?@@xonabyte
I am actully realy exsited for the new pack.AND THE CAT OMG❤❤ And i an loving the like pink like frame😅❤
Ps sos for my english
i remember the biggest build i ever did in the sims 3 was a dingy motel that i wanted my sim to live in for a runaway teen challenge and oh my god the orbs. and the build really took forever bc i played on a shitty mac laptop and oh my god i miss the sims 3 but i don't miss the lag and crashes. the motel looked great tho
there’s a game coming out called hometopia that i think you’d like!
Loving the cat cam. ❤
I don't understand. I never have these lag issues playing TS3, and I play 100% vanilla. I have a pretty good computer now, but I used to play this on a dell laptop while also streaming netflix to the tv, and still didn't have these issues. I still play TS3 today and have no issues, while TS4 barely runs (also 100% vanilla).
whenever simsie does sims 3 videos it cracks me up that the game is so laggy even though she has such a streamer high end set up fnkdfn
i think kayla should bring more the sims 3 videos!! i swear the sims 3 is so fun
If they do not add lifts or spiral staircases in this pack I don’t know what I am going to do
RVSN (cc creator) has great elevators! Also, City Living does have elevators.
We do have lifts/elevators in the game already tho.
Trueee!! You could even woohoo in Sims 3 elevators while changing floors. Sims 4 "elevators" just teleport sims, they don't even function, it's just decoration 😆
@@SisterTheohild we do? :o Which pack did they come in? Can you use them in builds?
@@kiricamel City Living, but I don't play with that pack too much, so I don't know if they are usuable. ^^
Ok So you say the sims 3 store is soo expensive but pay over like 900 dollars for the sims 4.. each to there own but the sims 4 is a money grab game now
17:32 I finally relaxed from doing stuff to watch the video and it’s over 😂😂😭😭😭
“No one is watching this and wanting to play this game”
Ma’am, I AM. TS3 is so elite to me. It’s never been laggy for me either which is so bizarre cause I’ve always played this on whatever laptop I owned at the time 😂 I’m having to fight the urge to load this up rn instead of doing my uni coursework hahaha
Thanks God's my ts3 doesn't have that much problems anymore 😅
But I love apartments! Every time I play new game in ts3 I always choose apartments because yeah it's realistic :) and it's my fav thing to custom build. The basic shells are nah xd
I was actually there for the release of The Sims 1 and all the expansions, and played The Sims 2 religiously until switching to 4. (When 3 came out I didn’t have a PC that could run it and by the time I had a PC like that, 4 was about to come out, so I have very little experience with 3.) So I played The Sims 2 for a decade. And I honestly didn’t remember there were apartments in it until watching this video’s beginning. I am questioning my entire existence. Time to reinstall and remember!
Still crazy that even after an entire city expansion pack they have to come out with an apartment pack
I remember playing the sims 1 and going to work and having this old banger of a car pick me up each day
