World Adventures is still one of my favorite expansion packs ever to this day. The fact that we got THREE worlds in one pack, with each giving the player so much to do and explore. I really wish we had something like this in TS4. It makes me feel so nostalgic and gives me feelings of joy whenever I see the worlds. ❤

Seeing this and still get mad nostalgia. Despite fact I'm still actively playing Sims aka (heavily modded) TS4 atm. Took a break playing TS3 for almost a year now. Just ran into this lilsimsie memory lane flashback and inspired to return to SV! This vacation world is THE BEST for the law enforcement/secret agent branch. Unlike TS4, your vacation gets started in several ways. Your law enforcement Sim can get a random career opportunity phone call. Or just visit traditional way by doing a personal/family visit. I usually did both taking the family on regular vacation while doing the biz part of trip. It also seems a lot of the more casual simmers don't realize that Al Simhara has a really ADVANCED main quest/plot line which helps this career track. This involves a shadowy org called Mogahsu? (spelling) corp. Depending on your sim's good/evil nature and who they sim met in Al Simhara, they get option to side with this evil corp (if help agent of this corp). Or do good and help a local sim defeat them. You can even invite these foreign sims to stay with you in your homeworld (SV, BP etc). And best part about WA is this particular quest takes several trips and really fun, immersive way to level up your sim's visa, physical, martial arts skills.

There are so many different ways you can bond with the locals. Even France's "I need a date" repetitive adventure (go build relationship, ask out for sim, report in) makes you feel like you're building a reputation with the locals. I never really liked how much Selvadorada only has one or two adventures that have you interacting with the locals, usually when you need a cure. Sims 3 WA lets you meet up with the locals a lot and interact with the world more (go to lot and investigate the puzzles vs one or two temple locations that cycle).

There’s also three different incense dispensers and they each have a different scent that give you different moodlets. The one from China gives you a brain boosting moodlet and it is shaped like a dragon. The one from France is shaped like a soldier boy and gives a love is in the air moodlet, and the Egyptian one is shaped like an ankh and gives a mellow feeling moodlet.

the effort that the sims team put into this pack has always shocked me. the fact that they not only designed three full worlds with heaps of new gameplay and items, but they created all kinds of lore and quests and built tons of different tombs in each world!! absolute heroes. sims 4 packs could never 😭😭

it’s insane how complex the tombs in world adventures are!! there are parts in the tombs that even i as an adult now struggle with and have to look up how to do or use cheats for. the worlds are beautiful, there is so much to do, recipes to buy, interesting sims to befriend. the amount of time it must have taken to make this pack is so wild. egypt is hands down the best world because of how many tombs there are and how complex they are. comparing it to the sims 4 where there’s only 1 world per pack and you can explore 1 tomb per trip, you don’t have to do any thinking, you can just autopilot your way through it, there are little to no consequences for getting something wrong. it’s literally just clicking on objects to get to the end. i could go on for hours about this pack!! i miss spending hours in a single tomb, my sims getting into fights with mummies, getting set on fire from stepping on invisible traps, it was just amazing!!

There are a lot of hidden doors and rooms that you missed. These are the smallest tombs, some of them are literally 64x64 lots on many levels. I have played this game so many times but every time I do it again I still discover new places I hadn't seen before. The Landgraab mansion is one of my favourites to discover. In France, the winery is humongus and it is actually very hard to get to the end. I miss the creative freedom we had when making wines. Now in TS4 we only have a few options.

27:25 you need to soak your sim in those pools until they get wet. then have your wet sim stand next to the fire until they make a puddle and it puts out the fire trap! Or you can swim across and push the statues on the traps too.
31:33 You need Pangu's Axe to break through that! That is why I ALWAYS recommend you go to Sim China first and go through the quests until you get the "breaking boulders" ones. Always get Pangu's Axe first before exploring the other areas!

this is probably one of the packs i played the most it's absolutely incredible, best value for money out of any sims related games imo. i remember i played with two sims (friends at first, lovers by the end) and i had them complete every single quest line in every world and it took FOREVER, i remember i was playing that safe for months. also, the quests weren't just bound to one area each, these people were sending me from one country to another and back just to complete their silly little tasks!! thank god my sims were absolutely loaded from all the treasure they wrongfully stole from ancient tombs lol. by the end of the ordeal i had the two sims get married. of course this was sims 3, so naturally on their wedding day the one guy nearly got killed by a meteor... think it would've been really funny if that's how he went out after going through his dangerous adventures for what must've been a decade in sims time, but fortunately for him he survived. world adventure didn't feel like Sims 3, it was like a completely different game to me. sometimes i'd really like to go back to playing sims 3 but i just know i'd probably never touch sims 4 again.

I’ve been playing the sims 3 lately and went to France with my husband for our honeymoon. I got an adventure to go to the museum and explore because guests were getting scared by noises and unexplained events. Long story short the curator of the museum ending up dying after getting sealed in a sarcophagus (pretty sure that’s what happened) and was now haunting the museum. I was instructed to take his bones and place them to rest in a cemetery so his body could be with his family members. I literally had a skeleton in my sims inventory for a bit, I was like “damn sims 3, you got pretty dark for a bit.” Still think vacations were done the best in sims 2, when I go vacation I like to do some touring but I also like just chilling for a day or two so I like that sims 2 lets you do that. I was genuinely obsessed with this pack in the Sims 3 days, even as other expansions became available I would always go back to World Adventures gameplay. I never did manage to fully explore all the tombs, but that was because the game struggled find "quests" to give you after you'd already completed most of them. I remember using the teleportation ability that you could learn from the martial arts skill to "cheat" my way past bits of the tombs, and later using magic from the Supernatural pack to help keep my sims needs up. World Adventures is also responsible for the strangest glitch I've ever experienced in any sims game: when returing from vacation my sim mysteriously became two sims with some of the data (traits, skills, personality, outfits, etc.) about her on one sim and some on the other, with the remainder being randomised. I did report the bizzare bug, and the best they could do was tell me it was probably a corrupted save file and that I should just start a new one. Make backups of anything you don't want to lose, folks, you never know when something might go wrong.

Tiberium board breaking was a great way to make money.
I'd love to see a TS3 Stanley become filthy rich off Tiberium harvesting.

My favorite part of world adventures is that some tombs you need to visit an other world and go to a tomb to get the key for. There are a couple extras whicha aren’t necessarily tombs as well one in france requiring an axe from china.

World Adventures is the best! I LOVE IT! It was like an ENTIRE adventure game within the expansion! With puzzles, secret areas and missions and story! Love it! ^__^ Wish they made packs like this for The Sims 4 but alas it cannot happen. RIP Maxis :(

the best way to do the photography skill is to start out with the cell phone camera because taking pictures on the phone doesn't cost anything. On the good camera at a higher skill level, a photo of the pyramids can get near $2000 abd you can hang the pictures you take in your house! There are also photo "collections" that as a collection-completer style gamer I LOVE. Also yes, every time you unveil a staircase you have to give it a minute for the game to get itself together lol

I would always go to France, pick all the grapes, and then buy a nectar machine. You could find rare bottles in the depths which would count toward the Nectar Cellar life aspiration too. It was also fun to save a copy of the lots & set them up in my neighborhood.

This was my absolute favorite EP the Sims 3 ever put out. I loved figuring out the traps and the puzzles and stuff. There is a way to break that boulder you saw, but you need a high athletic skill and if I remember correctly, a special tool that you get from one of the tombs. I'd love to see more game play from this pack if you're willing to suffer through the load screens!

Using speed 2,3 or 4 while playing world adventures leads to a lot of freezing up whenever you progress in a tomb, like when your sim steps on a pressure plate that reveals a staircase and loads a new room suddenly. Switching to speed 1 and staying on that whenever your sim isn't walking down long hallways will make the freezing issue less jarring and last shorter than when the game is trying to load a room instantly against speed 3

Im so glad you're playing Sims 3 world adventures BC it used to be my absolute favourite Sims expansion ever made, I loved the stories in the adventures, the lore, the MUMMIES that could actually kill your SIM via a curse, the thousands collectibles and finally, the tombs full of mystery that were giving me actual spooks when I was a kid. It was SO great

World Adventures was one of my favorite packs ever! I went to the vacation worlds all the time! My families would own vacation homes in all the worlds, and we'd go spend a week there to work on skills and stuff, since time basically froze! They were so fun and detailed. I was hoping we would get some more vacation worlds in TS4, but all we have is the jungle, the woods, and Star Wars. I would love some more worlds modeled more like these! They don't even have to have all the tombs, I just love to go and visit!

TS3 WA is absolutely amazing. I made Lara Croft and her house and went collecting all the collectables, of which there are TONNES. And you could even make secret rooms in your house and your own explorable locations.
Edit: and of you use a cheat, you can actually live in the travel destinations, giving you 3 extra worlds to live in. It's brilliant.

You could learn Sim-fu, there were world-specific recipes you could only learn in a specific world, and the collectibles you could bring back to display that you could only find in specific places were awesome! I haven’t even mentioned the tombs and different dress and building styles for each world!! This was the best expansion pack ever
