Fantastic, thank you so much for these beginner exercises. Just got some parallettes and have been trying some of these exercises. Very challenging but I can definitely see how they will really help build strength. Thanks for showing what “half range” can look like for us total beginners as we work towards the fuller movement. It’s encouraging to know it’s okay to do whatever we can while we progress and yet we will still make progress. Some teachers have an “all or nothing “ attitude that is discouraging for beginners, so I really appreciate your approach and your positive attitude!

Great video, I primarily follow a powerlifting methodology in my strength training - and have so for seven years now -, but I recently bought a pair of parallettes to play around with at home. Your video was thorough without any fluff, and everything was explained quite well. Thanks for the lesson :)

Great video, can you recommend a weekly workout schedule for a complete beginner! Thanks

I think a split of strength, skill and hiit is great for a beginner! This is what I did. Two days strength training 6-12 reps depending on the exercise, 2 days HIIT and one or two days skill training such as handstand or any fun calisthenics skill you want to learn

Hi Jenna, How did you deal with hands hurting from the pressure of bearing weight on a hard metal surface? I find that workout gloves help. Any other suggestions?

Hey! Yes it can be quite uncomfortable especially in the beginning when your hands aren’t used to it. I didn’t really do anything about it to be honest, I just put up with it. Gloves could definitely help or you could get those softer foam roller things than wrap around it.

@@JennaCollinsFitness Oh my goodness! I had forgotten that I had bought some dense foam to try on the parallettes. Thank you for the reminder! 😄
