I’m not a Pontiac/LS/G.M. fan but the build quality and attention to detail makes any gear head sit up, take notice and admire what we have here. Well done. And as always Sean, great choice of whips to dazzle the audience.
We are all car people in the end Sincerely, a GM muscle car fan that thinks R34 Skylines and Mk4 Supras are gorgeous Edit: Almost forgot the E39 BMW M5😍
I am a 67 year old car guy with a 64 Riviera and this is the first Firebird I like. I have always liked Camaros over Firebirds. But the stance and overall look of this car is bad ass. The colors are great too, I really like the blue. Cool ride, thanks.
I’m 67, too - and a Camaro-like touch caught my eye; the impression of the deeper grille opening by carrying the grille mesh down to the valance slots! A lovely touch, like many others! That’s the great thing about F-bodies in the 21st century, esp. early T/A’s - they improve with age by standing out more & more... Shawn, another great choice of classic to feature....!
huge firebird fan! totally loving the quality of these videos..and I love your honesty that shows through on camera, not an easy thing to do, and you seem to do it with ease. congrats again
Gorgeous! As I've said before I'm not normally a huge restomod/pro-touring fan but I really appreciate when they're super-tasteful like this and the Grand Am you did recently. Stunning car. 70-73 Firebird/TA is still my favorite musclecar.
I believe I can shed some light as to where the color/stripe inspiration came from which you should find helpful. It was taken from a 1978 Macho T/A #106, nicknamed "BRUISER". It was the only one done in this color scheme of the 204 built in 78 & the only Macho built for California. It was a special order that Dennis & Kyle Mechum didn't even want to build because they thought that the blue on black wouldn't work (remember it was 1978). As for me I think it's simply stunning, I own Macho T/A #29 Atlantis blue/Silver & I prefer #106, this is just a beautiful T/A my friend, enjoy in good health!
Not a lot of talkin going on. I think that's a good sign. Great interior color. Great stance. Good sound. Nothing wrong with buying turn-key. I dig it.
thats usually the case with car design. Early designs were better than the later years. The fiero is a great example. I love those little guys but they kinda fell off towards the end. I really wish GM didnt kill the tin indian cause it would be cool to see if a modern firebird would have this retro style
@@boeing175 I would say that the Corvette peaked "mid" run for lack of a better way to describe it. The early C3s with the exposed bumpers are the best looking Vettes.
@@thejoshbtv cant argue with that. Edit: The 3rd gen look was actually based of of the Banshee that DeLorean came up with for Pontiac. Look it up shes a sexy little thing.
Beautiful car. Didnt want super loud. Or super fast. Sometimes people get over stimulation with all the over the top stuff.. perfect car. Perfect driver with power and attitude.
That's no joke !! The second gear spin was impressive !!! The 6 speed is such a great move, more efficient, get's the power down, and just hum along up top.
In my opinion, this car is the definition of a perfect restomod Firebird. The details that make it so are there and they are subtle instead of bitting you over the head with the over the top mods. On first glance it looks simplistic and boring, but with a closer look, its actually intricate and well put together. The love from the owner really shows..
WOW, what a ride. I owned a 75 T/A, two 70 Formula 400's. Love those gen 2 birds. And this is one sweet T/A. Thanks for sharing this car with the world.
Beautiful car and nice build. My first muscle car was a 74 Formula and I've always liked the look of Gen 2 Firebirds and TA's, especially the 73's and earlier, before they started integrating a front bumper.
That is perfect. I also love that it has a short rubber shift boot that let's you see the full length of the shifter unlike the fancy leather ones that go so far up.
I really like that the interior was kept mostly stock especially the 'engine turned' dash. What really put it over the top when it comes to attention to detail was the fact that the roll cage was painted the same color as the rest of the interior - nice touch!
Hell yeah bro that's a nice car..always been a huge fan of the Firebird and it looks like an awesome build 425 to the wheels is no joke..loved seeing you do a good burnout..lol
I had a 67 custom Vette in that same color combo. People either loved it, or hated it ! I think it's awesome I love this build of the best designed TA. That's really a 70 Firebird TA interior in that 73. Personally, I like the low back buckets of the 70 style 😎
Love this car. The 77-78 trans ams get all the attention because of Smokey and the Bandit but the earlier second gens are cool too. That 1-2 burnout was sick.
I always thought from a kid that the 2nd Gen F-Body Pontiacs(Firebirds and T/As) were always better looking then their corporate stablemates the Camaros. Much better styling.
@@colinw7205 I like the early (70-73) second gen camaros but 74 and up I don't really like that much but the 74 and later trans am, yes I love those cars.
Some will say it doesn't have enough power but honestly 420-ish isn't that bad for a reliable car set up like he has it..Good brakes and suspension..I bet it's really sorted and fun..👍🏽🏁
That’s a really nice restomod. Updated performance to match the style while keeping that 73 vibe. A moment of silence for Pontiac, gone too early, ruined by corporate bureaucrats.
Really nice man. You can drive it as a daily and not have to stop at AutoZone on the way home every Friday. It's still fast enough to be fun. Most of all, it's gorgeous. I love the color and all the attention to detail. Elegant simplicity.
Now this thing was interesting to watch. It was so stable and controlled looking. When you drove it was just smooth and precise looking. It seemed real crisp and was done perfectly.

Super clean! As you guys mentioned, there's something to be said about a brand new engine technology, and it's reliability. Get in and just drive it. It's extremely difficult to find an engine builder that can build a "reliable" 500hp engine. Ask me how I know.... ha, ha. Awesome job Shawn! (As usual)
Beautiful car. The blue interior ✔️. Great lookn ride. Was surprised to hear you don’t turn your own wrench….I don’t trust peeps to even change my oil in any of my vehicles. Besides you build a strong relationship with your ride when you build it. ..but not everyone can do it…and that’s cool.
Add some Year One Honeycomb wheels and a chrome rear bumper and the car would be perfect. As it sits, it’s just too dark. But hey, I’m an old guy who hates that “murdered out” look. The interior and the engine bay on the other hand, just stunning. Love the LS power, super light in weight compared to a boat anchor Pontiac mill, making just as good power if not more. Plus they run smooth as glass. Great heart transplant.
