Every Sound of the Gargantuan Leviathan of the Return of the Ancients Mod For Subnautica

- An ancient sea monster, that was once thought to have been dead for millions of years on 4546b is being brought back to life. Thanks to the Architects of the Unknown, this gianormous monster is coming back to the waters of 4546b. This thing was first brought to my attention by Amthomnia, IGP, and Aci, they introduced me to this colossus, and I absolutely love this behemoth. The sounds y'all are about to hear are first: the mysterious horn sounds that were playing in certain areas of the early build of Subnautica, what sounds like a fog horn or something, turns out, is being made by a creature that bigger than anything else we know. Next, are the unused updated sounds for the Garg, as it's also called. These sounds were never used by the Architects of the Unknown. Second to last, the new updated sounds that were made by the one, the only, the man, the myth, the legend, Simon Chylinsky, who made all the audio and sounds for everything in the first Subnautica, and Subnautica Below Zero. Last, but not least, the brand new custom sounds for this ancient behemoth, of which thanks to Anthomnia taking on a sponsorship to help get the monster its custom sounds, and Raid Shadow Legends helped fund the creation of the creature's new terrifying sounds. But for the very first time ever, on August 7th, the Return of the Ancients mod was showcased on Twitch for the very first time ever, by VTuber streamer girl MonikaCinnyRoll. She talked to the Architects of the Unknown, and they gave her the mod to stream it. I was there to watch her meet this ancient giant for the very first time ever, she got to meet both the adult and the juvenile Gargantuan Leviathan. The Gargantuan Leviathan behaved as it was programmed and made. And now, I present to y'all, every single sound of this ancient sea monster, the biggest leviathan of all time, and truly, the King of the Leviathans, the Gargantuan Leviathan!

How can a roar kill u?
Certain decibels of sound can create shockwaves in the air/water that cause such intense vibrations that they can physically damage the matter around them, including human organs such as the brain. Essentially the gargantuan leviathan is roaring so loud that the area around it is being shaken violently enough to stun or even kill smaller creatures.

In the case of Sperm Whales, their vocalizations could kill you by essentially collapsing your lungs and causing your brain to hemorrhage from the decibel vibrations.

It's hard for you to hear sound under the sea, that's why almost all of the Leviathans in the game make you Piss your pants seeing how you can hear them because of how loud they are, especially the reaper with its butt Clenching roar, but when a Noise can Vibrate your ship and shit on your very existence, you know your In deep shit

Me too, some of the other roars sound a little like a t rex. My theory is they are related in some way to the Dragon Leviathan or even that they were hatched with spliced DNA from the Precursors

Imagine hearing any of these noises in the ocean
I wouldn't be as worried, mostly because a creature that big would be heard from hundreds of miles away, that thing could roar from the bottom of the Mariana Trench and still be heard from the surface. If this thing roared just ten miles from me, the sound would blow out my eardrums and make me permanently deaf. That thing makes the Krakatoa eruption sound like a harsh whisper.
Imagine if the Gargantuan actually existed in the area beyond the dead zone where you encounter the Ghost Leviathans. Imagine you have just outran the three Ghost Leviathans guarding the crater edge, or used a Cyclops shield generator to make yourself impregnable to their blows. Finally, you reach a point in the dead zone where they stop following you and swim away. For a moment, you feel a sense of invincibility, that there is absolutely nothing left for the game to throw at you. Then you hear the roar of the Gargantuan and all chaos ensues.
That's basically going to be the case for this mod, and I'm SSSSSSOOOOOOOOO SSSSUUUUUUUUUPEEERRRRR excited for the release

Besides Kong (whose roars were made by altering the sounds of creatures like carnivorans and primates), most creatures in the Monsterverse utter high-pitched sounds, more akin to chittering (as heard made by the insectoid MUTOs, Scylla, and Mothra), squeals, screams, screeches and shrieks (like those made by Rodan, Ghidorah, and Godzilla), though they are heard making deep bellows and growls.
Being at the the Aurora and just hearing this from the void being that close you’d probably be dead due to ear damage

The sheer power and force that they're produced at, along with the fact that sound travels faster in water is likely the culprit for why these sound so close when, in all reality, they are not.

I love the thought of approaching the dead zone after a calm trek through the seatreader’s path, coming close to the dead zone for the first time, and staring in awe at the vast expanse of nothing, only to hear 0:47 faintly in the distance. To hear something so similar to a reefback and yet… not.
I'd be too scared to leave my base and go to the deep parts of the underwater map if this leviathan was base game

The same guys working on this mod are also working on a mod for Below Zero that's gonna bring the frozen leviathan back to life, it's gonna be talking and everything, but so far, there's not much to it currently

This is an extremely scary thought, but hear me out... We know more about space than we do our own oceans. So, theoretically, this beast (or something like it) could be lying dormant in our oceans.

Its impossible for an animal to that big or even close to that big. Gravity would crush it or it would starve
They should have made this a thing where if you go to far into the craters edge your vessel would get swallowed whole and you would immediately die

What they needed to do, was program this leviathan to occasionally hunt in the player area and use these roars as a warning that it's approaching and also above the player while they hide.

@@ballooncoast848 Well the game would need to be re-thought, ya. There'd have to be a lot of time spent in deep water for it to be worth it.
That would be awesome but it would look so stupid in the safe shallows haha. It would probably be best if it only triggered in deep water. Every few minutes or so there's a chance of it triggering so you don't get used to it.
Well so far in the mod there's a Juvenile that hangs out in the Dunes, but the sheer size of the Adult Garg can't fit anywhere but the ELD and Void.
Probably when the mod nears completion there'll likely be some components and stuff to find where the Adult dwells, making contending against it inevitable.

Just hearing this in Subnautica would be enough to make me stop playing, and I'm not scared easily. For example, I've been walking through a grass field by myself in the dark, before turning on a flashlight to see two eyes of some unknown animal rushing straight at me. That doesn't do much more than startle me slightly and I yell just to keep whatever it is from continuing to run at me. These sounds in this video though... that's nightmare fuel... Worse than any Sirenhead sound I have ever heard in any video or game ever in my opinion.

I really like the echo he produces, it's as if his howl went through the whole ocean breaking the usual silence of the game (I play with the sound effects on and without music so imagine the jump I have the first time I heard that when I downloaded the mode not long ago, it's a friend who recommended it to me without telling me what it was about)

Well, before the creature had these sounds, it used old and unused reaper leviathan sounds that were never brought into the game, so then later on, RUclipsrs like IGP, his cousin, Anthomnia, and Aci took on sponsorships to fund the lead audio and music developer of Subnautica, Simon Chylinsky, to make the Garg's custom sounds, Raid Shadow Legends was among the many games that were chosen to fund Simon's assignment to create the sounds for the Gargantuan Leviathan, in addition, the Gargantuan Leviathan has the horn sounds that back in the day, in the early stages of the early build of subnautica, where there were horns playing, so the Garg now makes those sounds as well, the juvenile Gargantuan Leviathan and the baby Gargantuan Leviathan are also gonna have their own custom sounds
The garg’s roars at half the video sounds like an engine for a backpack blower or a weedeater!
If you managed to get close to the beasts head, its roars would explode your eardrums and rupture multiple blood vessels due to a high rate of change in water pressure

yeah yeah, throw your nerd emojis at me all you want but i need to say this because i need to get it out of my system. a creature of this size simply could not exist, gravity would crush it's bones and peel it's flesh right off. even if it could survive the sheer power of a gravitational pull, there simply would not be enough food to sustain it and keep it from starving. so while an apex predator that slithers through the water beyond the dead zone is cool and terrifying, it would simply just die the moment it pops into existence. and no, 4546B having low gravity isn't an excuse, because the size of the moon is roughly the same as earth so the gravitational pull is extremely similar so while i love the gargantuan leviathan, it simply could not exist because there would be no chance of survival for it.

Any PDA warnings shouldn’t be stylised or anything, they should all still be the clean, analytical talk. Something like “Warning, unknown Leviathan class creature in the vicinity. Recommend caution”

@@brigidyt3033 Palkia was first seen in the 2007 Pokémon movie "The Rise of Darkrai" - it is part of the creation trio of Sinnoh and is basically the Pokémon god of space. The other two of the creation trio are: Dialga who represents time and Giratina who represents anitmatter.

The garg should be far far F A R away from the map so itll make sense when it spawns and its body doesnt just clip on a side of a mountain. Or better yet add a whole new area of the map of the void and when you cross it and pass the garg, you get to a story quest as part of the line.
