I didn't know what the dunes were but i had to cross it to get home. I was skimming the top of the water with my sea good when i heard that and just kept going, hoping that I'd make it out

I planted one outside my base and thought (for whatever reason) that they'd be friendly then… I died thrice until I got rid of it xD
I scanned one that was bugged on a reefbacks back so he couldn't hurt me

I remember how I've beaten the reaper to death bashing it with my cyclop(using shield generator), I was so proud of myself scanning that leviaphan corpse. Then, when I had nothing to do in game(and got ion power cells on my cyclop) I decided to go to the dead zone to show these motherfuckers who's the real apex predator on this planet. But than I realized that the ghost leviathan clips through my cyclop and doesn't give a shit when I ram him on full speed. My disappointment was immesurable and my day was ruined...
Me: *pulls out stasis rifle with 2 batteries, a thermoblade and two oxygen tanks*

I played subnuatica at a family thanks giving with my nieces and nephews and my grandpa seen the sea emperor message saying what are you and he said “I think your losing it your seeing things that are questioning who you are”
The flotation decive and pipes are extremely helpful. You can literally have pipes going down to the lost river with air
Or you could build a base

@@theactualmiuiswaifu true but I don’t really think it’s worth it. Building a base with bioreactor gives air too, but takes 10x quicker to finish and is way cheaper.

13:40 I disagree with all BUT the air bladder. That thing's saved me more times than I can remember in the early game whenever I got too risky to get limestone and sandstone chunks open.

I remember the first time I was playing Subnautica and thought that Stalkers were the scariest things. Then I got a knife and acted all tough. That lasted until I saw a tail of a Reaper when going to the Aurora the first time.

The real horror is the death run mod on default settings.
Among other things, it makes aggressive fauna much, much more aggressive, such that they aggro from MUCH further away, and, more often than not, they don't make their noises when they charge at you.
Is that really a setting?

When I first played the game and I saw some of the “fish” I was like “what the FUCK is that” and I haven’t even seen a leviathan yet

On mother 4546B, you don't see leviathan, leviathan sees YOU.
Fun fact: In my main save I’ve killed every reaper on the map and hearing their roars is about as calming as the safe shallows now.

Nope! If you kill any leviathan within the crater, it does not respawn. (Ghosts killed in the Lost River dont respawn, but void ghosts do)

The thing with the 2nd and 3rd play through for me is that at the end of each I went on a killing spree to kill all leviathans with the PRAWN suit. Really fun tbh

I remember when i swam out of the map and the robot voice warned me of leviathans. Hadn't seen them before, but I nonetheless panicked and rushed back ti base. I actually encountered leviathans pretty late. I swam around, even near the aurora. Then, in the forgotten river I saw one. In this cave without visible exit

Subnautica works on pretty much any pc. my pc is below the minimum requirements and it runs with settings on low pretty well.
I can play it with 60 fps on an i3 hd 4400 intel graphics. You really don't need a good pc
I played through just fine on console granted id sometimes have to wait because the game couldn’t load chunks faster than I could get there but it wasn’t ever a real problem. Also I say I got through “just fine” even though I had to change my pants like 30 different times throughout my play through.

Seaglide is just as good and has much more uses.
The flotation device is worthless in subnautica, but its so useful in sub zero.
in some versions u can just become neptune itself and launch up in the air with that thing but in others its for people who dont wanna press spacebar

I was playing Subnautica once while listening to something on RUclips (pretty sure it was Lanipator playing Resident Evil 7 as Krillin), and I was in a cave looking for quartz. I found some and went about collecting it, and suddenly I take a small amount of damage. I look around, and there are a lot of bubbles all over the place. After a quick check around, I see 5 Crashfish nests, all in fairly close proximity to one another. I'd swam in, and somehow dodged all but the last one, and that one only caught me on the edge of the blast radius.
Fun fact, blue whales are louder than the loudest jet engines, they can be heard from hundreds of miles away

@@2012petvet actually thats the sperm whale, blue whales can cause temporary or even permanent hearing loss if your close enough, but actually killing you with sound? only the sperm whale and its clicking can do this.

That giant creature is called a siphonophore, they're made up of colonies of tiny creatures called zooids. They're often confused with jellyfish for they can sting with excruciating pain. They come in so many different shapes and sizes, and that one in the picture is about 150 feet long.

@@smaragdwolf1 ... no? ghosts are extremely territorial and have no reason to exut craters edge. they have no teeth and feed off of small algea and what not. they are too big and not suited for other areas so they decide to live in they live in the void. (once they turn adult. they migrate there from the lost river) also you can attack a reaper and have it run to the void snd the reaper and ghosts wont fight eachother. the reason reapers exist is too, well, exist. they are the apex predator of 4546B and thats about it.

2. i do know all that. Plus.... Reapers need alot of food. another Leviathan would be a good meal for them... like the Ghost who is basically Vegetarian. Wouldnt the Reapers be around the Map, we would have far more Ghost within the Crater, looking for food and being aggressive against everything.

6:41 sea dragon is terrifying until you find out if you turn your cyclops engine off it leaves you alone
I used the air bladder and the pathmaker thingy a lot on my playthrough. Bladder early game came in clutch when I didn't have oxygen as i could use it to run to the surface. Also if i was in danger, quick getaway. The pathmaker helped me navigate wrecks and diving deeper than my seamoth could go so that I could find my way out of caves and wrecks without suffocating. Maybe it's just me, but I'm easily disoriented.

i can’t bring myself to replay subnautica bc i’ll never feel the terror of when i played the first time and i don’t want to tint my memories.
I was high the first time I played subnautica, I was having a bad week and tried it cause why not. I swear the experience of first jumping into the water was insane I felt I was truly under water and looking in the distance outside of the safe shallows was insane everything looked beautiful and it was just this sense of fear and wonder mixed together,
I remember loving the fact that the game forces you to go deeper because materials you need are further down but it also sparks your sense of adventure and curiosity with all the radio transmissions. And fuck those exploding fish man

To be honest, after you installed the Seamouth's defense module yesterday, the Reaper stops being a concern and becomes more of an unlucky person who has a maniac behind him shocking him every 5 seconds
The worst thing is mining limestone, actually getting copper then having a full inventory and searching for something to drop and then when you finally drop something you can’t find where the copper sunk.

Tip!: You need copper? Go to the entrance to the lost river at bulb zone with a prawn, drill arm, in the river is copper at some spots.
Do you also need silver? Mushroom cave, near the thermal vents, more common in there so you don't need to have pain looking for the material.

i actually got a theorie for this 9:00 players could search for materials in subnautica below zero and after they gather all the materials required to build a I - compartment a solar panel and a fabricator they can start the game even without using the pod and like that they can continue expanding without even setting foot in the pod itself

The first playthrough of Subnautica is a horror mystery game, the second is Doom Eternal sea edition.
Until you come across the crabsquid staring right into your soul.
Lol I remember the first time playing Subnautica that I was so scared of the *idea* of Reapers that I looked up a clip of their roar, so that I wouldn’t mistake it for another creature’s and get eaten.
By the time I was off in the Neptune, I think I killed all of the Reapers around the Aurora and several in the Dunes (because I built my base right on the edge, in the sort of... pillar sand shark area? Where the one entrance to the mushroom cave is. The base was located past the giant wreck near Ozzy’s pod, on one of the larger pillars. I think one of the youtubers also put their base there iirc? The sock puppet one J-something-something? Because it’s a place that is just ASKING you to put a base there! Anyway, killed a few in the dunes when they attacked me when I was coming back to my base from the Dunes direction. I also killed several Ghost Jrs in lost river. Much preferred Reapers, as you could get them easy with just a stasis and a knife, which is how I took down most of them. Sonar in the sea moth till you find one (after you kill the first few by the Aurora’s back end. There’s a few piled up there, so you don’t have to go looking for them., and leave the moth a reasonable distance away so the Reaper you’re going for won’t target it before you get a stasis shot to hit, nor a different Reaper that you don’t see at first. Give it a full charge blast and potentially bring the moth in closer since you might need it for more breath, then knife the shit outta it.
I also preferred stasis knife takedowns to prawn drills or sea moth missiles. That way you really feel like you’re tangling with a beast!
Stasis a Ghost Jr in the wrong spot? Thing will headbutt and kill you. Proper ghosts can actually break the stasis iirc, and Dragons? Forget about it.
They need to add to the loudest sounds in the world: the noise you make the first time you see a reaper

Jokes on you, Subnautica is fully replayable game. If you wanna get the REAL feeling of willing to forget the game, try Outer Wilds. It is entirely built on not knowing the plot and game mechanics, which takes you about 15-20 hours to explore; cuz if you know everything, you can beat it in 20 minutes.
