A good friend of mine had a 28ft Hallet boat that was built in the late 80s. It was a 496 with twin 76mm turbos, blown through twin carbs. Boat had a manual bodied TH400 that made it a trip. We would be right next to boats at 80 or so, and he would click into 3rd, and walk away. Pump gas,and probably an easy 900 hp that lasted 12 plus years. It was an absolute riot on the lake.
What a sweet ride! That boat looks like it's going to rip too! Bonus points for having a son interested and very knowledgeable in the same field as you. Always great content from your camp!
Love seeing the high end stuff but it’s refreshing to see a stock block/ crank combo too. Would be amazing to see a stock block SBC street build (maybe single turbo and blow through carb) for us guys that want to duplicate something at home. Can hear it now.. Steve- ain’t nobody have time for that…. :)
I am a big fan of yours. I watch all your videos and your motto "you might learn something here." Well as it happens I lost a lifter in my car, a roller lifter, you know the ones that never break. Anyhow, I was watching the one with Cletus when he had that bad cam. I had to do exactly what you did. It wouldn't come up and it had a tie bar so I took an old valve cover gasket box cut it and may a little tray to catch it because it wouldn't cine up. I had to cut the tie bar because it wouldn't go up or down but after that it fell neatly into the little tray just like yours did. I do have to pull the par though because one of the roller retainer broke off but I have a leak that needs attention. my point is, it's not just a blanket statement, you really can learn something from watching your channel. Thanks my man!
I love seeing Kyle shine in the light of the Ol'man, this kid is smart as heck. And, my missus was watching this vid over my shoulder, and she recons he is ''one good looking boy!'' ! 😆
Showing us multiple projects in one episode is awesome! One of your best crafted videos for sure. Kyle, yer coming on strong young man, and your presentation is getting top notch.
That Chevelle exhaust is slappin and blappin😅. Side issue it seems like the valve train is overtight and isnt closing the valves all the way, this is based on what im hearing and my experience,it definitely could be something else , but something doesnt sound right.
The jet boats pump will stall out at 6500rpm because that's what the impellers are tuned for, so tuning the torque to max out as low as possible is the key, it's likened to tuning a car that has only one gear.
Steve i would love to visit your shop one day. Your knowledge is incredible as well as being a great teacher, you teach us something new everyday. Many other channels can not compare too. Thanks for everything you do!
Nothing wrong with "old school" engines. Look at the engines of the late 60's and how much power they made and totally stock. I would take my 327 L79 to 6500 RPM day after day. The best Chevy street engine ever made IMHO.
That is an enjoyable video. I enjoyed the scene switching and competition between father and son. I also like hearing the afr and timing amounts. Thanks. Rex in New Zealand.

I love watching your videos. I am very mechanical and have built both muscle cars and jet boats in the past (pre-children). I wish I had the time and extra cash to get back into those hobbies, but since I don’t I am fairly satisfied to watch your content because I can totally relate to a lot of it. I don’t think the average Joe fully understands what goes into designing, building and running these machines in terms of the time investment and the expense involved. Thanks for sharing your mad skills with us regular peddlers out here on the streets of America. I appreciate your dedication to your craft. It is obvious you truly love what you do. Well, most of the time. 😬
Twin horsepower video, sweet. To see a motor with nelson turbos, cool. I grew up with his power shown, not sure why. But. Ya. Cool how tune corrects power
So after the engine is on the dyno, i guess you give the customer the tune on a flash drive, whole ecu, and/or email them the tune file. Always wondered how that worked, can't put a boat on a dyno very easily and you may not have their ecu from their application.

Always great to see you all work together as a Family. It shows in the work you all produce. You cant beat a SME Engine build. SMX SML FTW
You guys are great and a great family. I enjoy every video.
Great to see you and Kyle are so close, stay safe and God bless
Nice work, so much fun just to watch you guys getting it done...
Just 1000 horsepower, crikey that's more than enough for a street car good work 💪

100 percent true my dad used to rev his 400 trans am motor to 7000 rpm nothing special just cam and head goodies
327sj sbc with muncie 4cog cold starts too 7500 every gear for months swapped it into a boat went more than 20 years
27:50 Great call i agree its enough for sure good work 🤠
'70 Chevelle certainly seems to possess a unique sound for a twin turbo car.
I like it.
I love this sound @16:23. It's like a bowl of Rice Krispies in the morning... Snap, Crackle and Pop!!!! 😁
Ugh that snapping sounds so bad to me lol
Just checked out Kyle’s channel and it came up first, so I subscribed while I was there. Good luck!

The exhaust on the Chevelle sounds like glass packs...no bueno!
Sounds like straight pipes…sounded terrible honestly
Idk what’s going on. Plenty of turbo cars run straight pipes right off the turbo, and sound nothing like this one
@salvatoregiovanni8967 its all the way out the back and looks like its kinda small pipe.
You are both naturals at the RUclips thing. So love both your videos.

He runnin glass packs on that Chevelle? Good lord sounded like it had fajitas the night before…
straight 3" exhaust only the turbos for mufflers
Nothing beats a 2 for 1 dyno video. Best part is nothing blew up😂. Thanks for the video!!

if you put magnets on your flyweel or any rotating mass it will use 10 times less energy to spin up again when you hit the throttle

Big block from a chev topkick 366? I had that in my jet boat 14 years ago. Was a beast in a 16’ Rodger’s.
I use to own a boat with twin 454 big blocks for her size she got up to 30 mph but it was more of a cabin cruiser then a speed boat.
I know the later Chevelles have a small brace on the fender just in front of the front wheel that seems to be missing on the Minnesota car.
Gawd, that Chevelle is the NUTTS!!
thanks for sharing Steve!

Grateful for Steve and Kyle!
that 3D version of the performance map is nicely self-explaining.
Dewey was concerned that his dad was being kidnapped.
Kyle Morris pulls up top of the list for me.
I knew what inductive delay was from trying to put the tiny spring back in with a points system.
Spark plugs are the ultimate engine tuning sensor. If your plugs look like hot garbage then your engine is running just about the same
the intercooler pipe is almost hitting the ground when you're back off the throttle he needs to Stiffen the front end.
Why no intercooler? Brings boost numbers back and cooler. Fuel in a boat is heavy. Same power for less fuel means carrying less weight.
62 👍's up Steve Morris thank you for sharing 🤗

I was curious if holley had a setting for induction delay. Some OEM ecus Don t have
it and you just compensate in the timing tables as rpm increases.
Lol, my chevelle is missing the Dome light cover, too!
