    Thanks for taking the time to make this video. It helped me decide whether to upgrade my TG6 or not.

    I bought the TG 7, as I wanted a tough little camera as a daily carry. I am very pleased with the images I am getting, especially with the scene modes. I am not an underwater guy, but wanted a waterproof camera.

      Yeah, I've taken some shots that I've really liked with the various scene modes. Definitely a great, durable little camera that has never given me any problems.

    Thanks to you, it took me less than 3 mins to decide to skip this upgrade from tg6

      @@notmelah happy to hear it. I was anxiously awaiting the tg7 and would have bought it right away if it was actually a marked improvement from the 6, but unfortunately not. 6 is still a beast.

    This hits hard for a camera comparison video

    great video,
    one other big differere is the TG6 says Olympus on it , i gave my TG5 to my daughter, and bought myself the TG6 for this reason, to those who are on the market for the fist time for a tough camera, i would say, buy the OM TG7 if you can afford it, if not get the Olympus TG 6 and save some cash for accessories .
    Not sure this is still the case, but i read somewhere in the fine print that for the guarantee to be valid the camera should be sent in to have new rubber seals fitted, (how often , i cant remember) so maybe the newer TG7 might be better option, as well as TG6 2019 chips and motherboards, TG7 2023 hopefully newer parts ? hope this helps.

    I currently shoot with a TG6 in a Seafrog housing. I was thinking of upgrading to the TG7 but it hardly seems worth it. What are the major differences between the two? Is it seriously just a USB-C port and a slightly different lens ring?

    • @nntproductions000
      @nntproductions000  9 месяцев назад +2

      If you do a side by side comparison of the two, doesn't seem worth it at all. Yes, the USB-C charging is nice and it's what pretty much all modern cameras have, and there are a couple of other shooting modes (although they aren't designed for underwater). All of the main camera stats though are unchanged.

    I went with the TG-7 only because this is my first TG camera and I didn't see a reason to save a few buck on a TG-6. The USB-C is not nothing. I've lost a few electronic devices in my time from stressed micro usb ports

      If the price difference isn't a deal breaker and you think the USB-C will save you a headache in the long run, not a bad choice.

    Hi I currently dont have a camera and want to get one thats especially good for travelling and action shots, if its not about upgrading but getting a starter camera would you recommend the 6 or the 7? and can you recogment any of the extensions you can buy at the olympus shop?

    • @nntproductions000
      @nntproductions000  9 месяцев назад

      I'd just go with the 6. They both have the same size sensor and will produce the same video and photo quality. In terms of add-ons for the camera, It would depend on what you're going to be using the camera for--underwater, etc.
      Alternatively, if you're just looking for a versatile starter point-and-shoot camera, have a look at a review article I put together a while ago on underwater point-and-shoot cameras.
      www.nomadnaturetravel.com/nomad-gear/outdoor/water/underwater-camera-for-snorkeling/
      They aren't specifically made for underwater photography or videography, but they are all depth-rated to 10+ metres so they are good for it.

    The lens on my TG 6 would fog over when I took the camera from a hot sunny beach into cold water for snorkeling pics. I’m told this issue is resolved with the TG 7. Does anyone know this to be true and has anyone else experienced lens fogging issues.

  • @rayspencer5025

    The TG-7 was a big disappointment. I wanted a full range of f-stops, a bigger / better sensor, better lens. All we got was a slightly different body design and a higher price.

      Yeah, total cash grab. Wasted opportunity on the part of Olympus because no one else compares when it comes to underwater point-and-shoots.

    If you have not own a TG or have version TG5 and below, go buy a TG7.
    If you already own a TG6, you can wait abit longer to buy a TG8 or TG9.
    There is a big difference in the way TG7 interprets the light. This is most obvious in night shots & fast activities like biking.
    In bright sunny day, TG6 is as good as the TG7.
