The TG cameras are outstanding as underwater cameras. The smaller size really helps get close. I've used larger setups and for small stuff the equipment itself gets in the way but the TG cameras let you often sit your equipment right in front of the subject. Your footage including the comp and handling of the equipment is truly great and thanks for showing us! 🙏🏻
Please do a side by side TG7 vs. TG6 comparison by taking them underwater on the same tray if possible and compare use/adjustments/focus/etc. We need the definitive word from you 😀 You will be the first to do this AFAIK. I haven't seen anyone else does this comparison for underwater use anywhere.
Great information. Would love to see a series of all functions, features and performance evaluation. I am primarily interested in photo, but you are peaking my interest in video. Thanks as always for you entertaining and informative videos!
Great little critters. Just got the TG7 for my daughter to take on a 12 month world tour (mountains, snow, seas, dust, rain the lot...). It's very small and well made.
This was a really great review! Looking to purchase one for my three months in Hawaii and this seems to be the camera that can't really be beat. As someone else said in the comments, so great to see an actual footage review! Look forward to seeing more of this series.
From an average viewer point of view, the content is prime. Understandably, the tech angle is important for professional purposes, but obsessive nerdy hardware upgrades is important only so far as when a major improvement is noticeable to the layperson. Not a criticism though...
Footage looks great, but so did the tg6 videos you did. Definitely keen to see a settings video, I don't have lights (yet) though so im not sure how settings with lights translates to non light users
Great review - I have just bought one upgrading from a Sony RX100M2. Got some good macro shots using the auto underwater settings on a recent dive trip. It would be good to see comparisons of those vs taking in aperture mode. Appreciated the expalanation of white balance - I have always added red back with software. Would also be good to see how you get the most out of wide shots - not happy with any of mine
Your new Sea Frog housing you have how do you rate it? I have a GH5 in a Sea Frog (Nauticam way too expensive) but its all to heavy when neutrally balanced with compensating weights for traveling. So...looking to down scale to the Tough 7 for practical reasons and seeing your videos. Love your videos, your macro shots are soo good. Love to come over from Denmark and dive your resort just bit of a hike getting there.
Thank you very much for the testing! I try to buy also one of those things. My questions are also: what wide angle did you use in the video, and what would you suggest? Also about the additional light: what would you suggest? Is it possible to synch external flash/light with camera setup?
To counteract the current while diving, we use a combination of techniques such as proper body positioning, maintaining a streamlined profile, and utilizing natural features of the environment for support when necessary. Additionally, our cameras are equipped with excellent video stabilizers to ensure smooth footage even in challenging conditions. The stabilization features are effective for both videos and photos, ensuring clear and steady shots every time.
Hi, nice review. Which dive light/strobe do you suggest to me? I have a TG-7 with my older Seafrog TG-6 housing, because I flood my TG-6 during some snorkeling.
Thank you! For a dive light/strobe, I suggest checking out options like the Backscatter Mini Flash or the Backscatter Optical Snoot as well as their video light. They are both excellent choices known for their quality and performance, ideal for enhancing your underwater photography with the TG-7. Happy diving!
Cool. You got one. I was just looking at it on BS, looks like you got the entire package they offer. What a nudi fest! I can see the sand grains in macro mode. TG7 looks like a winner to me. This video ought to get a lot of views. Thanks!
I would love to see a full underwater macro tutorial with the TG7. I’ve been shooting for years with the TG5 and just unboxed my new 7. Time to up my skills along with the camera.
The output looks good, but did you have to do any editing to get what you have put here? I know I would have some learning to do, but did you do any editing of the color to get this output?

Great video! This trick with WB setting underwater is so goood 🙏🏻 Is it possible to compare TG series with Gopro? In your opinion which is better for a underwater video? Does the TG has stabilization for shots on land shots?
How do you find the Sea Frog housing at depth? I've the same one and I'm finding the buttons lose functionality when it gets deep. Most recently 28m even though it's rated deeper... Any trouble yourself?
Can you do a test with a wide angle? I know most scuba people use it for macro but I'm planning to use it for freediving and I want to know if I it's worth as an alternative to a gopro.
Enjoyed the video greatly!! Thank you so much. My first underwater camera was an Olympus and I loved it. Then I transitioned to a Cisco Flip, the to GoPros. Having problems with my GoPros overheating while shooting underwater so I am looking for a new underwater camera. Because of your video I think I found my new one. Please do a side by side TG7 vs TG6 comparison and let me know. Thank you again.👍

Machen Sie weiter so. Seems interesting, I'm going to Java+Bali in a few months and I want something to photograph underwater. I have a Sony A7RV with different lenses to use, but it would need an underwater case which is around €1000 and for each lens that doesn't fit the case I have to buy a new tube that's about €600 I think so it would be very costly. And takes so much space in my bag... Now I'm tempted to buy this, but not sure about the quality yet.
Everything I have read about "improvements" with the TG7 don't really do anything for UW photographers...they benefit OW photography. Therefore, there's no big incentive to upgrade over the Six. The macro subjects are great as always and never seen that species of black and white headshield slug before.

@CritterHunter The TG-7 features sealing and a double lock construction that delivers waterproof performance up to a depth of 15m (50ft).
