  • Your gonna wanna put these AdOrAbLe “Sleepy Time Bears” on your to-do list for sure!
    They are 11” tall and 7 1/2” wide. They are so soft and cuddly and are extremely cute!
    I used my 46 needle and my 22 needle Addi machines but if you only have the 48 needle Sentro, give it a try! I’m sure it will work out beautifully!
    Thanks for watching and Happy Knitting!

    I just finished this sleepy, chubby bear. It came out great! I did have trouble following you for the legs. Normally I have no trouble seeing exactly where you put your stitches, but with this one you went really fast through that part. Thank you for all your patterns and tutorials!

    One of the 1st things I ever made. I gave it to my stepson's girlfriend's grandson...whew...anyway, one of her dogs got ahold of it but luckily, didn't do any damage. The grandson loves his Bebe. I think I might need to make another, so she'll have a backup! 😍

      Thank you. I find that if I show the same technique in multiple videos, it takes a lot of length to record and I have a lot of trouble downloading. I mentioned how many rows to make the beanie and that you do it the exact same way as you did the bear body. You just don’t close the bottom end.
      The face was also done on two other videos so repeating it was something I chose not to do in order to save on video length again. So sorry for the inconvenience. I know it’s tough when your learning.
      Here is the link to the face. It’s near the end of the video. Thank you for tuning in to my channel. I appreciate it. I also have a video on how to make a beanie. Just follow that and only do 60 rows. Hope this helps.

    For your yarn that tends to be more static, try using a piece of dryer sheet- fold it over and hold your yarn in between the layers. You can also use a cloth lightly dampened with diluted fabric softener.
    I'm a walking static ball- this helps me a lot!

    I add a solid contrasting color at the 47 mark that will mark the boby cinch place and then use the yarn to cinch with. Saves taking a needle and trying to needle around for the head and body.

All came out beautifully. This is my next project. But I don’t have the little Addi only the king. I’ll have to hand knit or crochet the little bits.

    What are your thoughts about only making one ear…..

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  Год назад +2

      I don’t think it’s a good idea because the ear keeps the hat up. You also see the form of the second ear. If there was no ear the hat would be flat against the head on that side and it would look funny. Also, if this is something the child plays with for years and the hat gets tattered it would be nice to have a two eared bear. 💕 my vote is to make 2.

    Can the bear hat be used as a baby hat for the recipient?

  • @knittingchick50
    @knittingchick50 2 месяца назад

    If you are sewing the hat on to the head do you really need two ears?

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  2 месяца назад +1

      Yes, for two reasons …
      1. It still shows the shape. Without it the hat would be flat to the head and you would notice there is no ear underneath.
      2. If the hat was ever torn, got a hole, ripped off etc then the bear would be complete without it.
      Hahaha! Make sense?

  • @2dogmom
    @2dogmom 3 месяца назад

    I made the hat on my 46 with 60 rows and it’s too big. What # of rows would you recommend? I don’t have a 40.

    • @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet
      @koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet  3 месяца назад

      Number of rows only affects the length. Not the width. The 46 needle is likely too wide.

    • @2dogmom
      @2dogmom 3 месяца назад

      Darn! The written explanation says you used your 22 and 46. So it’s really the 46 and 40.

      Sorry, I went back and watched the video. I made this a while ago and forgot off hand what I used. I actually did use the 46 needle machine. But I used a 3 weight yarn.
      If you are finding it too big then tighten your tension.

      Sorry that you think of it as a problem. I have done that in only one or two of all the videos I have made for you.
      Some videos are long and it takes days to create a video so by asking you to take a few moments to click on another video that I have already made that goes along with this video, should not be a problem. Sorry you feel that way.
