“Soft and Precious” Baby Blanket or Lap Blanket / Unisex / Addi, Sentro, Circular Knitting

We will use our 22 needle machine and Loops and Threads Soft Classic yarn.
3 skeins Peach, 2 skeins mint and 2 skeins white.
374 yds/7 oz - 324m/108g
I loved this yarn at first but as I worked
with it I was realizing it’s not the best yarn for our machines so I would suggest Bernat Premium yarn or
a yarn that you know works well in our machines.
I also used a 5mm hook to crochet the border.

I have just finished this beautiful blanket and used the same colours, but as I am in the UK, I used King Cole DK baby yarn. I must say how thankful I am to you Shelley for making this pattern available to us.

Lovely little blanket! Thank you! The colours are so sweet. I have spun some fibre which looked a lovely blend of pinks, yellows and blue but it was a so and so to spin and I wasn't keen on the finished yarn though it is soft and cuddly. It is more 4 ply (fingering?) weight but washed it will bloom so you have got me thinking I could make one of these blankets with it. I am sure I have some other yarn I can use as well to get the three colours. Or, I could just spin some! I have lots of washed wool fleece which could be utilised. Maybe even dye it. That would be fun! But, I must finish spinning this sock yarn first! I need socks!

Interesting fun fact. I am making this blanket but using Hobby Lobby ILTY which has different yarn yardages than what Shelley has used in this tutorial. I had to un-do some panels, and I'm embarrassed to say how many times, and decided to measure one of the yarn lengths for grins and giggles. So each color section measures to 12.3 to 12.5 yards. Now you can count up how many squares and multiply by 12.5 to determine total yardage for what ever yarn you are buying. =)

I absolutely love this set. I don't have a machine 😢, but I do have lots of looms, round, long, and s loom. I was wondering if you could make this on a loom? Thank you so much for sharing all your ideas.
You can make anything on a loom. I just don’t have row count patterns for it. Sorry.

My neighbor has a new grandson born 12/26 so I want to make a blanket and cuddle bear for her. Only I'm going to use a cream, dark blue and light blue in the same color pattern but it will come out a blue gingham. My New Years resolution is to use up my stash this year but wouldn't ya know it, I have one skein of each color! Trip to Hobby Lobby today. In Oklahoma City area we have a couple of Michael's and no Joann's in Oklahoma. Hobby Lobby's corporate offices are in OKC so we are stuck with that. Or on line order.

Question. How come some people make flat panels for blankets ? I like yours better, yarn is so thin that double it like you do seams warmer. Do you know how to make the flat panels on the machines. I just got mine, a Sentro and I am new to this and would like to learn how to make a flat panel for like a summer wrap.

Our yarn store does not have loops and thread classic. They have a very very minimal amount. I went looking yesterday
I mention in the video to use another brand that you know works well. I don’t recommend this yarn. It was sometimes very hard to work with.

I’m not sure I understand but if you are asking if you can make it on the 48 needle then I will say yes that you can make a blanket on any machine. It won’t look like this though. Row counts and tube numbers will be different.
If this is exactly what I wanted to know, I just want to know how many lines are needed for a blanket? Thank you.

My Sentro machine doesn't like worsted yarn. Does the Addi machine handle it well?
Yes. But for all machines the brand you use is important. I used craftsmart for this project. Sometimes it gives me trouble. Bernat “Premium” is great.
I only have a king can I still make this
You can’t make this particular one cause you need the 22. You could do color blocks of 33 rows each on the bigger machine to make the squares and do half the amount of tunes. It would look different but the same concept. I’m sure it would be beautiful!
