I bought the Caron Colorama Halo to make Christmas gifts. The Latte cakes have 530 yds, the Halo only has 480! I was worried I wouldn't have enough yarn, so I made a no-brim hat with 110 rows. I cranked my scarf to 250 rows and I still had yarn left, so I decided to extend the hat with the rest of the ball. I just picked up the stitches on a 16" circular #7 needle, and I'm adding rows to one end of my hat tube. The hat will be mostly dark with a top of white, and can be worn either way facing out.
New Hampshire, USA and we are now losing our snow slowly each day , I love this hat pattern and have been making them in every color of yarn for the homeless people and for the veterans home in my town .. Thank you so much for showing us this pattern 👍🏼🐺🐾🐾

I’m from Oklahoma. This week it’s been in the 50’s and 60’s with fog and rain. Next week they’re predicting 30’s and 40’s. I am so thankful I found your channel! My husband gave me an Addi as an early Christmas present and I’m learning so much from you. Every time I try to make a hat, I get a dropped stitch somewhere. Now, thanks to you giving your time and teaching, I know why I have dropped stitches and how to prevent them 🤗
Hi Jeni! Welcome to my channel! So glad you found it as well😍! Dropped or tucked stitches will always be the worst part of knitting but you learn to manage and it gets better as you learn what yarn and what tension is best! Happy knitting my friend!

Hi from Houston, TX. I just for my Sentro 48, and of course, my first attempt was this project because I love the colors and the 1 skein feature. I finally got a hat I feel I can wear after 6 attempts! I kept trying to reuse the yarn, and this fuzzy yarn doesn't like to be reused. Lol I think it came out on for a first attempt. I love your channel and plan to make many more of your patterns! Thank you so much! Teresa
Hello from Southern Ontario (hi neighbour!) where we've had snow, rain, sun, warm, freezing, you name it, we've had it lately. Today it's melting. I got my Addi machine this past year to help use up some of my yarn stash (it's substantial - I am recently retired from Michaels) and I couldn't believe how beautiful and easily the Latte Cakes worked on it. The scarf is a great idea. I really appreciate your videos, and thank you for sharing all your tips and tricks.
Hi neighbour! So nice to have you as a part of my channel community. If I worked at Michaels I’d have more yarn than I already do! I’d likely leave every shift with an arm load! Haha
I'm from Milwaukee WI and today is Feb. 16, 2023. It is snowing and school for the children. Thanks for making this RUclips. I have the Addi but have not yet use it. So this is very inspiring.
Hi Undra! Get that Addi out of the box! Haha Come on over and join my FB group. You will get inspiration and encouragement there. Here is the link …. facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594
Northeast Florida! It's warm still - barring more hurricanes, it is beautiful weather! I love your projects and have learned tons from you. I make hats, scarves, etc for the homeless shelter for men and another for the women. It does get cold here in January!
Praying you stay safe during the hurricane season. Thank you for your kind words. I’m so happy your part of my channel community. Also, thank you for giving so generously to the homeless. That’s pretty special!
Im from Reno, Nevada, USA. Like all your good ideas & hints. I really 👍 the colors. Our weather today is partially cloudy & cold. 20 degrees this morning, no snow today but we have nearly 25 ft. at the summit.
I'm pre-watching videos on how to use the machine as I'm praying I get one as a birthday gift next month 😊. I'm watching all the way from South Africa, Cape Town. Our weather is hot with winds. This beanie scarf set is amazing. Thank you for sharing.
Greetings from Malaysia, though a tropica country with no snow but wearing a beanie is a trend among the youngsters here. Thanks for this amazing tutorial❤
Hi. I enjoyed your video. I make hats with my Addi 46 but I’ve never done a scarf. I look forward to trying. I’m from Mississippi and crochet and sew as well.
Newfoundland, Canada here, weather is 3 Celsius no snow here yet. Enjoy your videos, I just found you and have made everything that you demonstrated, keep them coming. 🥰
I’m been an Addi knitter since 2020 and have made many gifts and charity hats. Today is the day to get my Addi out and get knitting again, watching your video was a good refresher and I thank you. I’m in Texas and we have been having unseasonably warm weather in the 70’s.
Hi Betty! Thanks for watching! Glad you are inspired to get your machine out!🙂 Please join my FB group! I’d love to have you as a part of it. facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594
I have been using my Addi for the past 4 yrs, mostly for charity as well. 3 yrs ago I brought it with me to Calif while visiting my 93 yr old mother and ended up making about 150 hats for the cancer ward and several family shelters. I'm planing on making one hat a day until the end of the year when it gets cold again here in NC and am going to add scarves to the list too.
Oh my! You asked about our weather. Here in Arizona today it’s raining. Normally we have 60 degrees and sun here in the desert valley this time of year. I loved your video regarding the Addimachine. I have knitted since the 1950s but now have arthritis in my hands. And a big stash of yarn! I just ordered a small Addiand the larger one on Amazon. I can hardly wait until tomorrow to get them! Thanks so much for the great presentation.
Thank you so much Roberta! Your going to love your machines. Tomorrow will be an exciting day!! If you haven’t already done so, I would like to invite you to join my newly formed FB Group. Koala Knits And Knacks Here is the link 🥰 facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594
Edmonton Alberta. Just got my Addi King 2 weeks ago. I have made a couple dozen hats for the homeless. It’s actually warmer than is usual for January. Minus 9ish Celsius. Ive been using up all my cakes I bought in the last few years. After that I have a bunch of baby yarn to use up. 💕
Hi, I' m from Alberta I've had my Sentro 48 for about a month , and just received my Sentro 40 which seems to work beautifully with Caron Simply Soft. I've been making twisted head bands and cowls on the 40. Now, I.ll order the Halo. It looks beautiful. On the 48 pin, I use Bernat Premium which Walmart has lots of here in Camrose. I enjoy your video.❤
Hi from Nebraska, USA! Its July 28th today and we got 2.5" of rain today! A month ago the Missouri River which is within a mile of my home, flooded. Thankfully our area is about 12' above the flood level so we were not negatively affected. Great video! Just ordered my first Sentro 48 pin.
@koalaknitsandknacksaddicrochet I have a question about the size of beanies/hats I can make on the 48 vs 40 pin. Most of the hats will be for grandkids ages 18months to 10 years with head circumference from 18-21". Will beanies on 48 pin machine be too big for the smaller sizes?
Los Angeles California :) current temp is 45 degrees, which is EXTREMELY COLD here!!! It’s expected to be a high of 62 degrees which is a bit chilly for us!!! Loving this video and that yarn is GORGEOUS!!!
❤I am amazed at what the addi can do. I had never heard of this machine before. Now, I want one. I am from Tallahassee, FL. This morning, the temp is 82 degrees on the first day of July. It will be in the late 90s later, I am sure.
Northern Florida calling! It was 32F when i got up this morning -- yikes! Just got my Sentro 48-needle machine a few days ago, so I'm watching plenty of YT videos to learn how to use it properly (the included "instructions" are essentially useless, and I'm speaking as a technical writer). I don't have this particular yarn, but I'm going to try this with Cascade Yarns' Whirligig. Thanks for this easy-to-follow video!
North Central Texas, Right now 21° wind chill 4°, snow flurries. Next few days miserable winter weather. Warm hats and scarves for everyone a must have! Thank you for this video. No knitting machine yet, but seriously considering.

I am in the northeastern part of the Colorado plains. Right now it is summer and we are having tornadoes and hail and rain., Soon it will be hot and dry and lots of mosquitoes and flies! I have a couple of months until fall so plan to get as many as I can for family and maybe sell some. You will be known as the designer. Even my farmer/rancher husband loves these. Thanks for sharing.
New subscriber in Colorado! It's 59° here, but I'm making my sis a bunch of hats for winter. 😊 this will be the first thing I've made with my knitting machine! I've knitted and crocheted for years. Thanks for your video! ❤
thanks for sharing! It is 12/13/23 and I decided to make hats for charity a few days ago. Just learned about this machine yesterday and woke this morning and ordered one! (comes TODAY!) Got on youtube for beginner tutorials and your video was in my feed! THANK YOU!!! SOOO EXCITED to do this combo....One for me first because my daughter has me on her crochet list but she is taking too long for me😅
I'm from South Africa. At the moment the sky is open, at night but the wind is cold. It is autumn here, we are getting ready for cold winters as we had a lot of rain. I cannot wait to get my machine!

South Jersey I live near the water so we don’t get much snow. It is warmer in winter then Philadelphia and cooler in the summer all because of the ocean. Thank you so much for videos
Im from Nottingham, England. Whilst watching this, its raining but not cold as it usually is this time of year. I love your tutorial, I managed to get my head around the beanie hat, but wasnt confident with the scarves. Will be creating a hat and scarf set very soon. Thank you again 😊
I'm Sydney - raining today but previous days have been very hot and we'll have a return to the heat in a few days as it's the middle of summer here. Love the hat & scarf - thank you learning so much from you, you're a great teacher!
Thank you very much! I am having so much fun and so thankful for all of you. Here’s a link to my new FB group. I’d love to have you join if you haven’t done so already. 🥰 facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594
Nice video !! Yarns are beautiful !! I' m making scarves d hats for the Head 'start community. My conversion to Addi King was mostly to alleviate cranking but I love the speed of Addi. I seem to be learning all over again... but what to heck ! It's sunny and going to hit high 50's in Searsport, Maine
Im from ohio, usa your tutorial made the addi.knitting machine use so easy . But im sure it takes a lot.of practice to be an expert as yourself. Thank you iris
I’m watching you from Spring Hill FL in January. It’s a “brisk” 55 degrees! Brr! I don’t know how I’m making it in this weather! lol. Anyway, I just ordered a Sentro machine for my daughter in NC. I’m having fun watching what people can do with these machines.
I’m running to Michaels right now to get some of this yarn, so I can start this project! I have Caron cakes of all kinds, but I’ve always avoided the Latte cakes, I guess because I never knew what I could do with the texture. These are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you, from Detroit, Michigan! ❤
Be sure to show us in the group. Here’s a link to my FB group. I’d love to have you join if you haven’t done so already. facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594
Wow, I am so impressed at how easy you make it look. I have this Addi but when I tried to make a beanie it was to small to fit on an adult head. I am going to try again with the yarn you used. I have 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. I love to make all of my gifts to them . We don’t have the cold weather here in Virginia like you do for the most part of the winter but occasionally we also need very warm items. It is December 28 today and for the last two weeks it have been very cold. I wish I had seen your video two months ago. This would have been the perfect gift for everyone. Thank you for sharing your techniques. Ann from Va.
Hi Ann So nice to meet you. You sure have a lot of Grandkids and great grand kids! I am sure your Christmas gatherings are fun! One suggestion I have for you when making your beanies on the Addi is to loosen your tension. You can use a bit of tension on the Latte Cakes cause the yarn is very stretchy but most acrylic yarn needs little to no tension if you want the beanie to be the right size. I have a Sentro 48 needle machine as well but I prefer the size of the beanies from the Addi 46. If you haven’t already done so, I would like to invite you to join my newly formed FB Group. I’m from Ohio and the weather is 34 degrees with snowy rainy weather on 1-6-2023. Absolutely love these hat and scarf sets ! Great for presents ! I’m starting now for next Christmas ! Thank you ! Carnation Wa USA 45 min east of Seattle on I90 . Our temp is 20* with freeaing ice rain. I'm thinking abour purchasing an Addi King. I think your video is going to solidify my decision. I'm so glad your used Late Cakes yarn...I LOVE this yarn and was concerned if the Addi would work with it. I'm HAPPY - THANK YOU for a really informative demo

Thank you for this Video. I am from Texas and the last 4 days we had rain, sleet, little snow all mixed at around 28 to 32 just enough to miss up the driving. Well for us here in Dallas as we do not try to drive on ice!!!!. Our schools close and City shuts down.😂😂😂😂😂 until around 40 to 45 ( just kidding). I know other people just laughs at us. I will try the hat and scraf.
I have a couple of cakes of the Late and didn’t have an idea what to do with them. Now I do. Thank you so much for sharing. Puerto Rico in the house and the weather here is sa hot as it gets in the Caribbean. Have a blessed day!

This viedo just came across RUclips today. I just got a knitting machine and have made a few hats. I like the way you finished the hat. I want to try a scarf next. I knit mostly for charity and so many are wanting hats for this winter. I can crank out a hat so much quicker now. I am in Eaton Rapids MI.
well it's summer where I am...Melbourne Australia...it's now the new year, 2023, and I'm looking for projects to make on my new knitting machine ready for future market stalls..I'm a crocheter but I like the idea of how much quicker these are, thus being able to make more..and I like the idea of being able to make hat/scarf sets...
I am in cape Town South Africa. My Sentro arrives tomorrow. I am so excited and this is exactly what I would like to make first. Thank you for sharing 😊
How exciting! I love my Sentro’s. there is a learning curve but this yarn is great to learn with cause the machines love it. Please join my FB group and share your projects. We’d love to see. facebook.com/groups/899664008062522/?ref=share_group_link&exp=9594

Hi. Atlanta Georgia checking in. 🤗I have a Sentro and we are still getting acquainted with each other. 🤷🏽♀️She’s kinda finicky about the yarn she likes. 🙄I absolutely love the yarn you are using here in this video. Hopefully she will like it and I can use it to make hats and scarves like yours. Thank you so much for sharing.
Our machines know what they like and don’t like, that’s for sure! You will figure it out too. My Addi loves this yarn and I will bet that your Sentro will as well. I have two Sentro machines and I haven’t used this yarn in either but I am betting it will be great! Have fun!
Enjoyed watching your tutorial. I'm from south-central Virginia USA and it was 79° yesterday, 72° today and it is expected to drop to 39° tonight, high of 53 tomorrow. We call these up and down temps Pneumonia weather .
Haha! I call those ups and downs beautiful weather. Today was -11 Celsius here. We thought it was a beautiful day and went for a long walk in the park.
Here from a small town outside Jackson, Michigan! Weather has taken a turn to be REALLY cold. 9 degrees. I came across this video and used my new ADDI. Hubby says it's the best beanie I've made yet. I used Bernat POP. Liked the feel of the stockinet when I was done. Thanks!!

Robbinsville, NJ sunny, windy and cold here. 28 degrees this morning! Waiting for my Addi Express King to arrive. Thank you for the very informative video. Hopefully I will make 4 sets for family Christmas gifts with no issues! I do loom knit so it shouldn't be to difficult to accomplish!
I'm in Southern Alberta and just got an Addi for Christmas! Very excited to start making things on it and I followed the RUclips rabbit hole of Addi videos to get here. Warm regards and just got drifted in from the snow and wind coming over the mountains.

I am from the "Free State of Van Zandt," Texas. What's that you ask? When Texas rejoined the Union after the end of the Civil War, Van Zandt County "seceded" from the rest of Texas. Didn't work of course, lol. (Crazy Van Zandters.) It's July 31, 2024 and it's supposed to get up in the mid-nineties. I am a new addi user and enjoy so, so much watching your videos!
Just found your channel, just bought myself a sentro 48 machine. Your instructions are so easy to follow and I feel confident that I can follow instructions for a beanie. I’m in Inverness, Scotland
I’m sure it’s beautiful! Thanks for the tip.
Loveland, Colorado. 29 degrees. 11/14/2024. Thx for the video! I love it!

I'm in Melbourne too. I'm making scarves and beanies for people for Christmas - it's so strange to be giving knitwear when it's 40°C (100+ °F) 😂
I’m from Oklahoma. This week it’s been in the 50’s and 60’s with fog and rain. Next week they’re predicting 30’s and 40’s. I am so thankful I found your channel! Hi Jeni! Welcome to my channel! So glad you found it as well😍!

That’s fantastic!!!!
Oh my! You asked about our weather. Here in Arizona today it’s raining. Normally we have 60 degrees and sun here in the desert valley this time of year. I loved your video regarding the Addimachine.
@@janiceharrison8397 hi there! So glad you were not flooded. 🙂
Hello Deanna! Hope this helps you to stay warm! 😍
❤I am amazed at what the addi can do. I had never heard of this machine before. Now, I want one. I am from Tallahassee, FL. This morning, the temp is 82 degrees on the first day of July. It will be in the late 90s later, I am sure.
That’s pretty warm! We have temperatures like that as well. Today, Canada Day, we will be at 30 degrees. (90 is 32).
Northern Florida calling! It was 32F when i got up this morning -- yikes! Hello! Just watched your brilliant tutorial! It’s a thundery afternoon here in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England x
Hi there! Thank you for tuning in! 🙂
Hi Ann
So nice to meet you.
