  • A1 Class 60163 'Tornado' is seen working UK Railtours/A1 Steam Trust's Bard of the Avon from Manchester Piccadilly - this being the first mainline charter hauled by the A1 that I'd seen since April 2018 when she failed on the Ebor Flyer. The pacific is seen arriving into the home of Shakespeare and the destination of the railtour at Stratford-Upon-Avon and powering the return, up the bank, through Wilmcote Station. Looking forward to seeing more of this Eastern beast at speed back on the mainline!

Excellent video shots of Tornado Tom 👍😉 I've just went to see Mayflower at the Bluebell today and that was a fantastic sight. I'm maybe thinking of going to see Flying Scotsman in action on the Swanage Railway during this week coming(Tuesday) or go to see the Caledonian tank & Ivatt 2MT in action during the Spring gala. I'm also possibly of going to the North Norfolk Railway on Friday 4th April to see again the Caledonian tank in action along with the railway home fleet.

Thanks Joe! I'll have a look at your shots of Mayflower soon! I was tempted to catch her near Leigh on Sea. Bet it'll be busy down at Swanage. I'll be at the NNR on the Saturday/Sunday. Tom

Ok. I'm not sure if there unlikely chance that I will go to the NNR Spring gala during the weekend as I've had plans to go to East Anglian Railway Museum their own Spring gala with GWR 813 from the Severn Valley Railway is visiting. However I'm may change my mind if I like to go to the North Norfolk Railway to see 419 in action and I've haven't been to the railway for a while since 2016, so I may do that then and at some point during the day may meet up.
