I have the Reolink Trackmix 4G LTE camera at our camp site in the mountains and it works great. The solar panel keeps the camera charged at 100 percent. I've had it for over a year. The SIM card is from T-Mobile. Good video Doc.
Great video. I too have a number of Blink and Reolink cameras installed, at three locations around the country. Two observations, both of which you may have touched upon- -Most of my blink cameras are battery powered and outdoors. They have a relatively long trigger time, sometimes as long as 10 seconds, which may be an issue for some. That said, they are a tremendous value when on sale. In my opinion, a better option if you have AC power at the location is to install the AC-powered camera. Those are just as inexpensive, and consistently trigger very quickly. -With respect to the Reolink cameras, as you mentioned, they seem to power quite well via solar panel. I have one panel installed under the eaves of my house, and facing toward the house, i.e., shaded and with absolutely no direct sunlight. The camera consistently remains charged, solar powered only by reflected light from the side of the house-impressive.
Thanks Doc! Just ordered the exact camera you recommended 📹 (badass) Cellular, w/solar panel & cord. Plus I used (Doc) for savings code and you saved me $12 😃 Thank you!! Your videos were great! We appreciate you 💪🏻🤜🏻🤛🏻👍🏻🏆
The issue I had with Blink cameras up where I live in Minnesota is that the battery does not last long at all in cold weather. I am going to take a look into these new cameras. Love the idea of solar.
You can get solar panels for Blink cameras, I've gotten 2 and they work just fine. I don't see how they can say the batteries last two years, I used the ones out of the box and they barely made it a few weeks.
great video love the chickens, i had some homeless drug addicts break into a vacant home i own for rent so this has been a huge help in deciding what kind of camera to get
I’m in the path of a hurricane and evacuated. I wanted a cellar video camera I could put outside that runs off battery. I would love to view live footage remotely to see whether or not my house floods and to view what is going on outside. The last hurricane I had ring cameras installed in my windows but my power and Wi-Fi went out. Wanted to see if you could recommend one? I would love to pan the camera around live and see all over.
Hey, Doc, I just purchased a piece of property 1st of the year 4 1/2 acres of pastureland. I live in the lower part of Alabama and have hard red clay soil. So, looking to plant Bermuda grass seed any idea how much seed to purchase?
Thanks for the information were trying to sell our existing home right now. As soon as we sell we will build our home then till up and level and sow new seed.
@@rogergordon7179 Roger, if possible, contact your local ag co-op sooner than later and see if they can apply 2 tons/acre of ag lime (if no soil test is done). Ag lime will help raise the ph of your soil and takes time to work. It is not expensive, but the transportation and spreading equipment can be the most expensive part of the process. If you are like me, the lack of organic matter in your red clay will be a challenge. Hopefully, you will have at least 2-3 inches of quality topsoil on top of that red clay. Good luck.
@danielhlub2010 No, I have a wifi antenna outside on house roof. If you Don't have wifi signal you will need a cellular sim card and buy the cellular camera instead of the wifi version.
I've never seen a CELLUAR Axis camera. 1000 feet away from our home we have two cellular cams that perform VERY well at our gates. No power, wifi, or wires needed.
@@HowTowithDoc I find that hard to believe and we have tactaccam and Stealth cam That are good but not great cellular game cams. We may be able to see at long distancesbut nothing is clear or usable. Stand by my comment about axis cameras. I would rather spend money on Poe cameras of that brand before I wasted any more money on cellular. Sure cellular will work but again at night time they're horrible not to mention the fog in the mist and the condensation suck for these lenses. I bought 2 stealth cam 360 revolver pros and they ended up in a dumpster. The stealth cam deceptor max works pretty decent.
Hi doc please advise which herbicide is safe to use on fresh Yukon Bermuda grass. My lawn now is around 3 weeks old looking fantastic. Purchased all the fertilizers you mentioned in your gardening videos. But I have an area where there are broad leaf weeds are growing, really don’t wanna harm my new grass. Thanks. 🙏
How do the WiFi cameras work in the chicken house? You said they are WiFi. Can I assume you have WiFi there? Or do they connect to the camera on the pole called Bad Ass and use the cellular?
How far away does the motion detector start recording? As in, if a car is coming up my long narrow driveway at 15 mph, will these detect it in time to start recording and tracking? Or will the car be beyond it before it wakes up?
Good question, I love how dash cams have a buffer to fix this issue. I wonder if home cameras have this? Blink sux in this category and many other categories.

amazing vid , well done sir . what would you suggest for colder climates like east coast atlantic canada . ty ia

$20-$30 a month per camera is insane!
Didn't say that. It's 10 - 20 if you go cellular. Most go wifi

from a security protective, do you isolate the cameras on your local network and block any outbound data connectivity?

I just bought one of the wifi cams off your link a couple of weeks ago. Doing well so far. The solar works well at this point. I may buy another one.

That's one option

What size data plan do you recommend for each camera for wireless
Does the ReoLink Celluar camera work with Verizon?
does this system store the recording on the cloud
No, it's on a sim card.

You said the camera has a card. Can you delete things by phone without having to disturb the camera.
Yes, and if you choose it will rewrite over when full.
How do you connect the Cellular Camera's to your wired camera system?
How do the WiFi cameras work in the chicken house? You said they are WiFi. Can I assume you have WiFi there? Or do they connect to the camera on the pole called Bad Ass and use the cellular?
We have a wifi MESH network set up. We have about 6 PODS all around to extend our wifi.

Love your videos. Is there a way that I can extend my wifi range out side of my house ?
Do you ever have problems with the lenses fogging up and/or getting wet? What do you do for that?
On ALL my cams Blink, Reo, and trail cams, yes they will fog up on a FEW days.

What's the difference between using cellular data and Wi-Fi I want to be able to check my camera when I'm away can I do that on Wi-Fi
Yes they work the same. If you don't have wifi where you want the camera use the cell cam. That's the only difference
How’s the motion detection on blink because I’ve heard mixed things
Just play with the settings and they are fine. They have improved all the features over the past 2 years.
I'm a surveillance camera amature "expert", lol. Great video. Was looking for the name/company of these AI cameras, didnt see it in the description.
If my phone is connected to Verizon can I still use the T-mobile SIM card and connect to my phone?
Yes. Your phone service really has nothing to do with the camera SIM card
would really like to know the difference between the reolink and the eufy S340
The eufy has a MOUNTED solar panel which is BAD in our opinion. We have our solar panels up to 6 feet away which is a HUGE advantage.
Can you do a video on how they do at night
I have Amcrest and Blink
How’s the motion detection on blink
Agreed, I don’t get the point of unboxing videos. Thanks!
Is this system compatible with Google?
big money!
How high do you have your Bad Ass camera on the pole?
That's the tallest... about 16 feet
My reolinks lasted a year before the non replaceable batteries failed. Seems a waste of money
8 minutes in and blinks don’t move and name your camera…. Oh and there are Wi-Fi cameras and sim card pay monthly cameras..
Talks about not talking till 3:46.
Any camera that makes you pay to use it, is a complete RIP off and waste of money
Wireless are no good, too easy to disrupt analog is the way to go with a hard drive that is hidden in a very secured place
So when your cameras are 900 feet away from your home what do you do?
