Have not followed this MK1 as much as say MKX or MK11. I mean, all the different characters are cool...
Edit: just seems very amateur how they are doing the DLC and whatnot. The reveals don't seem no where near as hyped as the Ladder

@@DYNASTY1031 Truth be told, the mk9 DLC seemed cool 🆒 and is awesome af due to the console wars, and the fact that it's console exclusive content. But that was only two characters. With this, it's like 5 per pack.

@@bamaboyorrick3094 I was for mk9 and even X and 11, but they've went a little too fast. Especially when you don't go with the obvious. I mean, what's wrong with using Michael Myers, Pumpkin Head, Candyman, or other supernatural slashers. Ghost face was a couple human boys and young men, nothing super natural about that.

99% sure she’s coming at this point.
One corrections, it's probably not Ghostface from Scream but a original Ghostface like Ghostface in Dead by Daylight because Scream and the Ghostface costume are two separate IP because when everytime they want to make a new Scream movie they have to make a new license deal with the owners of Ghostface.
So theoretically NRS can design their Ghostface in any way they want.

A umk3 skin won't work. They will have femenine animations, poses, taunts VOICE and a female hitbox on a male skin. That's gonna look WEIRD!

Conan the Barbarian is actually REALLY cool. I have barely seen the TV show, but the comic book series was GREAT. Very brutal. He will probably have a move set similar to Kotal Khan and Shao Khan.

The only characters I’m excited for is noob saibot and ghostface. I would say cyrax and sektor but their gender is swapped witch isn’t a big deal but big deal for me and the other 2 guest characters aren’t really interesting to me like their basically terminator, kotal Kahn and probably Rambo from mk11 again.
EDIT: I’m still going to support it ofc but hopefully we get male skins for cyrax and sektor. At least have ash Williams and Micheal Myers with ghostface or the other horror icons from the previous MK games or kratos or just no guests characters

Ghost face is the only guest I really care about as a long time fan of Scream and if we could actually get Pinhead as teased by Ed Boon I'd like that. Tbh I still think the best guest list was MK XL.
I think it’s a waste because we already had terminator in the last game… this basically the same thing damn near. Scream is alright but if he isn’t handled properly the premise seems stupid off the bat to me. And the cyborgs being gender swapped? Bro.

Worst Kombat Pack ever
EDIT: allow me to elaborate: Cyrax and Sektor returning in this state is extremely lazy and frankly a slap in the face to people who have wanted them back since 2011, they could’ve created new female characters like a full fledged female cyber ninja. Sounds cool. Noob Saibot is cool, he deserves to return. I’m on board with Ghostface and the T-1000, I’m curious how both with play. Literally no one asked for Conan, such a random and obscure character to include over other well-known guests and actual MK characters.
Tbh & to easily understand is T-1000 has the power to morph into anybody and anything, he can also turn his arms into blades, crowbars, one of his arms as a spear and he can turn any of his fingers into spike needle formed like weapons.
Also if you can watch every Scream Movies especially with the TV show, you can understand that Ghostface was not just one person but known to be multiple people whoever is behind the mask considering Ghostface as a random character. Plus that Ghostface has more weapons than a knife like a shotgun, a pistol, a bulletproof vest, a frying pan and a lot of melee weapons that Ghostface used in the show.
I'm just glad we are getting ANY female characters. Kombat pack 1 had no females and since I'm one of those players who mainly play girls I'll take whatever I can get. Especially since I never was a fan of sektor and cyrax.
I genuinely don't mind guest characters being in Mortal Kombat or any other game. I love seeing how guest characters would interact with the characters of that world, or seeing some dream match-ups come true.

The arcade ending of Sub-Zero made sure to only use the word "Sektor" and "Sektor's genius", and not even "he" or "his genius". Then, Fate Unknown (a reliable leaker) outright confirmed that the guy in the final scene of Sub-Zero's arcade ending is not Sektor at all.
I should have known then that both Cyrax and Sektor will be gender-swapped.
As a 40 year old, these are iconic characters of my youth, but it seems like NRS is leaving out new fresh characters of horror or sci-fi. In any case, I'm interested in what NRS will do with these characters.

I will say in terms of Ghostface’s gameplay, there’s always more than 1 killer in the Scream movies (Except Scream 3), so maybe we’ll get some tag team gameplay moves 🤷🏻♂️

I think the Cyborgs are really well designed in Mk1 and I am looking forward to them. And honestly I don't mind the gender swapped models. It's a nice nuance given everything in the new era haha.

Noob Saibot, happy about that. The more ninjas the better. I personally don't want Conan. I'd rather have Deathstroke, or Doom Slayer in the game. Ghostface, hell yeah. Dying to see what they do with that. T-1000 will be insane. Very curious to know what his gear will be. I'm gonna hold my opinion for Cryax and Sektor being female until I see what they're about, ya know? I'm honestly excited to see what they do with the story expansion. That has me stoked.
T-1000 & Ghostface are the only ones that I’m so excited for. I only want DoomSlayer to replace Conan as well but when it comes to MK1 is getting an Action movie in General or 80s / 90s action theme then the characters that I can replace Conan with is Rama from The Raid, John McClane, Snake Plissken and others that I come up with.
But the only problem for John McClane is that the actor has dementia which is sad to hear tho 😔

best case scenario, these are all for the aftermath expansion and KP2 is something entirely else, or the Aftermath characters are a better selection to make it worth.

Mortal Kombat 1's multiversal, mixing & matching premise is the PERFECT opportunity to bring back Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe's, "Dark Khan". Either as a fully-playable Kharacter, or a Kameo fighter.
It's also, a missed opportunity to have a Centaur/ Shokan fusion as an unplayable sub-boss given the plot.
Oh, well.

Noob is the only one i'm planning on buying. It really sucks that NRS can't seem to get one female guest character. Also gender-swapping Sektor and Cyrax when they have a whole bunch of female fighters to choose from was a bizarre choice. They could have brought back Jade or Skarlett, they could have brought back Kira and make her interesting this time around, they could have added Cassie back or Sheeva or Cetrion. So many options and they choose to gender-swap two male characters...
Cassie is 99% likely. SAREENA, Jade, Sonya, Sheeva and even Kira woulda been better choices.

I'm gonna be that guy. Sektor and Cyrax were always been an odd fit since MK3 and there's reasons they've barely been used in the modern games. OG versions as kameos made a lot of sense. Brought in that old school game color. But, whatever else you can say about MK1, they've done an overall good job refreshing some older characters. No disagreements about the guest characters. KP1 guest characters have been great overall and fun concepts and how they translated them into gameplay. This KP2 list feels off, either because it's too much reused properties, or potentially reused gameplay, or whatever else. But we'll see once shit's actually out there.
You can't please everyone. Right? WRONG. Just put MALE Sektor and Cyrax , Noob , Jade and Kintaro in there and everyone's happy.
How many kombat packs will there be? I will not buy until a komplete edition is released, like previous entries in the series.

Most people are assuming its going to be Arnold's likeness since Chris Cox is in the end credits. But I think it might be 2011 Conan with Mamoa. They already worked with Cena for Peacemaker and the DCEU, and could make more Aquaman comedy. Do you think its Arnold or Mamoa?

They really need to reconsider putting Conan in and scrap him out, like cmon there’s literally no need for this character, they would most likely use Arnolds version and putting in another one of his characters would literally piss lot of people off and not to mention that also Kotal kahn already got a Conan skin in MK11 and he would even play like a dubbed down version of Kotal Kahn, they should replace him with another character who was an upcoming movie like Art The clown because of Terrifier 3 or Pennywise because of IT chapter 3 or Doomguy because of the new Doom game, Hell even Feyd Rautha from Dune 2 would be dope as well

I totally understand where you're coming from in your disappointment with their laziness as far as the Arnold likeness and such goes but, besides that, Conan is an awesome fit for MK if you ask me. I'm not really a fan of guest characters but I'm down if they can blend in well and Conan is perfect in that regard. He comes from a realm where sorcery and demons are aplenty, he slays serpent worshipping sorcerers, he's a brutal melee barbarian, he's absolutely RIPPED, and it's not too far fetched for him to find his way into another realm by stepping into some crazy portal.
The only ones I'm looking forward to are Noob and Ghostface. Bullshit that they genderswapped Cyrax and Sektor when they had other female characters like Sareena, Frost, Sonya, etc. 50/50 on T1000, it's lazy that NRS is going for another Terminator but he has gameplay potential. I hope they completely scrap Conan, no need for another Arnold character thats not voiced by Arnold. Would rather have Doom Slayer/General Kotal/Kintaro.
I know one time that I don’t want a second character from what franchise as dlc but I have particularly decide to changed my mind into wanting T-1000 since I won’t mind Robert Patrick in it and playing T-1000 would be like playing as Khrome. Thus yeah imo about Cyrax & Sektor being gender swapped, it was cringe or weird change that NRS has done.
Plus I would’ve wish they should replace Conan with a MK Character Kotal Kahn but the only problem is that I do saw Chris Cox’s name on the credits so it will be hard to believe that Conan can rather be replaced by someone else tho 😔

i do agree the guest are odd its strange to me they are pushing the terminator universe to combine with this so much i mean it does fit nice thory wise they can pop up anywhere same as fellow gust alien and predator (who have also met) but still its just strange to me plus conan as Arnold doesn't make sense to me either like it is to easy but been chris cox is there id say thats what it is im kina disappointed to wish it was like the superheroes theme all the way thru because conan has had several comics over the years so he technically counts as a superhero hes been in dark horce marvel and dynamite ghostface only one that fits here i see them taking liberty with him giveing him Johnny cages powers as a hidden evil Johnny from the multiverse that has to kill his other versions to make himself more powerful coming from the whole warrior cult Johnnys powers hail from plus maybe this version only did horror flicks instead of action ones and thats why he chooses the ghostface moniker

If they wanted a Kotal Kahn type character they should’ve added Kotal Kahn for Ghostface they pretty much just gonna give him Jason’s moveset but modernise it he’ll literally be Jason with a bit of Ghostface in there

I hate when you ppl who clearly haven’t seen any of the movies make assumptions about these horror characters just because they’re both slasher villains. Ghostface is NOTHING like Jason. Jason is big, strong, has brute force, and is more of a brawler and is supernatural. Ghostface is a normal sized human, but they can be nimble, quick, and agile, also it's almost always multiple ppl, so they could do a thing similar to stunt double johnny cage, or konjorur alien where he calls in other ghostfaces to attack, or even switch out. if you watched the movies you could see the potential they bring

YES, Dynasty! I don’t want guest characters when my FAVE MK characters are still missing or missing again! PLAYABLE SAREENA, Fujin, Onaga, and other characters who deserve a spot like Kai, Hotaru and Kintaro, but instead we get guests?! Cos of WB cross-promotional 💩 Bummer! Honestly, i think we need an actual voice actor for Conan because i think we saw other actor comparison videos. So the voice actor we're suggesting will be Nolan North because that should be his comic book look.
I like the idea of T-1000. I see him being almost like KI's Glacius. Ghostface is okay, but I'd have rather seen something like a Pennywise. Big ones I think would be fun to see in an MK game would be Negan. And after that, I want to see someone from the Universal Classic monsters. You might be limited to the public domained characters, but come on - who wouldn't want a Frankenstein's Monster, of if you can get the Universal owned - a Wolf Man.

Honestly, once Takeda is released, I will just grind for Takeda, get that Shang Tsung skin and do some labbing. Afterwards, I will uninstall the game. I was so hyped for MK1 but, as time passes by it led to disappointment. The only KP2 characters I’m hyped are Noob and Ghostface. With rumors of Sektor and Cyrax being gender swapped really made me go “wtf.” I can’t wait for Dragon Ball Sparkling Zero to be released

Sorry its waaay off topic but I'd love to see a full on GIJOE Mortal kombat type game. From NRS. I mean you have ninjas snake eyes and storm shadow as well as jinx, kung fu specialists, soldiers, B.A.T.S, and who wouldn't want to see SGT.Slaughter vs Nemesis Enforcer or Serpentor take on Duke. You could have Cobra Commander vs Destro and also Zartan as a Shang sung version and the dreadnoks. And have cinematic cut scene when performing the power move using vehicles like a hisstank.
I mean personally I love guest characters for a game like mortal kombat. You know how much filler and throw characters are in mk. And do you actually trust in the creative team to make these throw away characters interesting? They peaked in mk1 with redemption for a few characters but still flopped characters with potential.
