Just replaced the covers, top and bottom, on the front seats in my 2001 Tahoe. Great videos and product! No surprises at all. Very smooth process. YOU CAN DO IT!
just replaced my seat back on the 2003 Tahoe with the leather/vinyl part number per your video. thanks guys, it went exactly as you stated and i had a straightforward application. Looks great!
This video was helpful as hell to me I preciate it 💯 I'm sorry I can't help but call out the part on cutting out the airbag for the side of the seat and Ole Boi stressed a lilbit bout wrinkles if the hole isn't cut out big enuff. (We got a few small wrinkles)👀. Then finish it up with good job😂😂😂😂😂😂. All jokes . Tickled me how he cleaned it up in the end
What do you do when the J clips are on the opposite side of the covers? You show putting screwdrivers in the J clip from the back side of the seat but mine are facing the other way. And I got them from you.
These clips will have to be flipped inside and then clipped onto the frame. This is the same way that the factory made them. Please see our video titled "My Clips Are Sewn Backwards! ...Right?" for additional context. If that does not work, feel free to contact us directly at sales@theseatshop.com with photos.
Guys, I am in the DFW area and would love to have my seats recovered at some point. I have this exact style seat going into a K5 Jimmy project and obviously I do not need the SRS airbag since the control system doesn't exist on the old K5's. Is there any way to remove the airbag and have a foam insert in the hole that the SRS leaves behind? I'm considering seat covers like yours and am just curious if there is a way to fill the gap there. Thanks
Hey Robert, you can remove the airbag mechanism by unbolting it from the seat. Once you remove that, it's maybe a 4 inch by 8 inch hole in the foam. You would just need to glue in some foam to fill in that gap and get it flush with the rest of the cushion. Our covers will work just fine with either airbag or non-airbag seats.
@@TheSeatShop @robertCraft based upon my installation and fitment, i'd recommend just leaving the airbag in place with out the signal or wire connection. there is enough room whereby the airbag cover plate wouldn't be noticeable under the leather cover. Just my opinion as a satisfied customer
Troy Hester Hey guys thanks for the help, happy u guys r out here. Was wandering if possible u can upload a video for 06 Silverado 2nd row seat, the 1 with the slide up n down arm rest with cup holders. 👍👍
Troy, some of the heater pads have slots which allow the seat cover to attach to the velcro on the foam padding. these slots allow the seat cover velcro to engage to the velcro on the foam thru cut-outs in the heating/core pad.You really should think about gluing the heater pad to the foam before attaching the seat cover.
thanks for reaching out, we do local installs all of the time, but we know not everyone lives in the Dallas Texas area, so we have these DIY videos to either install from home or if you would like you can get them installed by a pro using our Installer network made up of local upholstery shops all across North America. Just use your zip-code to find the nearest shops to you - www.theseatshop.com/resources/install-locator/
Hi Chancey, our covers follow the same material configuration of the OEM, so it's going to be leather/vinyl. Leather in the middle where your back is and vinyl on the sides, just like what you have in your vehicle already. Let us know if you have any additional questions.
@@TheSeatShop Hey guys thanks I'm an upholster but I've never done car seats before , but given your demonstration it seems to be a cench , thanks and I'll be contacting you soon for my order ... Oh by the way how do I inform you on color identification ?

WHAT A PAIN IN THE A$$!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You guys make it look so easy, I had a bear of a time doing mine..... Still have to do the passenger side...........
Hey Joe, I'm not sure if this is the issue you are dealing with but usually, the most common issue is trying to pull the covers down into position. If this is what you are having trouble with, you will need to make sure to install the cover inside out and roll the cover down the foam. A lot of people think just sliding the cover down is simpler but you then have to deal with the friction of the foam cushion and the foam backing on the cover. Hope that helps, if you are dealing with something else reach out we are more than happy to try and help you out.
I picked up a pair of nice captain seats for my 07 silverado classic but the person i bought them off for some reason cut the seatbelts is there any way i can replace the seatbelts im hoping i can replace them does anyone have a link that can help me out ? TIA..
Hey Victor, thanks for reaching out to us, the seat belts are very tricky because you cannot buy them from just anyone since they have to be tested. I would first suggest the dealer if you want new ones or I would try a salvage yard to see if there were any decent ones available.
Why is it still so wrinkly. Take a heat gun to that thing and smooth those out. I work in an upholstery shop doing boat seats and it works like a charm. I have been able to get some pretty unbelievable wrinkles out.
That is the way to get wrinkles out of vinyl, we usually do add the final touches like steaming or heating our covers to get the wrinkles but only did the installation process in this video.
Eileen Heitman can do both depending on long you heat it. Heat it for short period to make the material stretch better. Heat it longer to shrink it. Don’t heat for to long or it will take the pattern out of the letter and it will feel like plastic. Takes a lot of practice.
Just want to throw this out here. I used to work in the factory that made headrests and seat components for these when they were new. We used a steam iron with a thick cotton material wrapped around the metal face to help work out the wrinkles. But like has already been said be careful or you can scorch and ruin a seat cover pretty fast. half a second can be the difference between hot enough to work and ruined so only use just enough. Also note the seat faces are different materials and the insides wont work/stretch as easily as the outsides. Also when trying to work the wrinkles dont focus too heavily on the wrinkle itself but on the material around it where the tension is causing it an up and down wrinkle is usually caused by side to side tensions, you are just trying to relax everything out and not so much trying to re stretch the cover.

You guys are awesome ❤
Will the seat covers with the armrest fit the seats without armrests?
u guys are amazing!!!!!!thanks for the video... :)
Thanks!
looks like if I just have to replace the back heating element I wouldn't have to remove the seat cover?
That is correct you can just unclip the J-clip at the bottom of the top cover and unroll until you can slip the heater to the correct spot.
great video!
Do you make bottom seat cover for 2011 GLK 350 Mercedes?
Unfortunately, the only Mercedes vehicles we currently manufacture for are the Sprinter vans. I apologize for the inconvenience.

Can u please recommend a seat cover for my 06 Chevy Malibu?
Unfortunately, I don't know anyone doing factory match seat covers for Malibu's yet. Sorry about that!
Do you have Escalade 2006 seat covers?
When replacing the seat back heater pad, can I just push it up thru the seat cover, (without removing the cover) or is the velcro on top of the pad?

It is not included but can be purchased separately.
