warning, this can be addictive!
too late...
So awesome!
Ohhhh yassss
True! Can't get enough!!!
It is the third video I watch, I am addicted
I don't know what they are saying but it's so beautiful I can't stop listening.
Nanourisma in Greek means the song mothers sing to their babies in order to sleep.
Gol Kas
It’s called lullaby. :)
Et en français, une berceuse.
in italian ninnananna
In Turkish ninni😊
In spanish it's a "nana" 💚
Griko will be the biggest shame when it goes extinct. This dialect is the chord which ties Greece to Italy.
I was indeed wondering where these 'tsch' (like in cinque) come from. As far as I know Greek, there is no such sound, innit? Or at least there was no such sound 2500 years ago. At least not in the usual way of spelling as we have learnt it. Or at least, as we were considered to learn it. Or at least, as I learned it.
@@kompjuternatel537 The sound "tsch" is much older than 2.500 years probably. A lot of Greek dialects still have it. (crete, cyprus) It's just my personal assumption though, don't have any solid proof except the fact that when you try to say words with "tsch" it's much easier to pronounce them. For example try saying "tschε" and "κε". Or "cinque" and "qinque". (repeat for like 15 times each word to see the difference)
It is called tsitakismos.. don't be confused with the written letters κ has more phonemes as you can imagine and it differs mostly with -i,-e vowels.
Same with χ to maheri or to macheri (the knife).
Example of the same word κυλάω/τσουλάω. The first sounds typical the second not.
I could say that conforming the greek dialects to a standard modern greek language by focusing on the orthography and the "clearing" of the language vocabulary and getting rid of the local communities characteristics killed the greek languageS that were transferred oral for centuries and were closer to the phonetic values of the past than the new language that we learn in school but differs from home and the community.
I'm proud to be greek hailing from southern Italy. I've had the honour to listen to old people speak Griko. I cried from emotion listening to it. Griko is dying cause noone cares. I met a girl from puglia. She didn't know anything about greece. She looked greek, but was ignorant.. The italian government does not want this language to survive.
@@konstantinapapaioannou4306 That's such a shame , such a precious part of both Greek but also Italian heritage 😓
I so badly want to learn greek now
Do! Even if you don't become a master, being able to pop out a little bits of random Indo-European languages makes you a more interesting person - and being able to overhear someone speaking ellinika in your home town can make an instant connection
It's the Griko Greek language the song. And modern standard Greek the reading
download drop app you can learn very easy with that app :)
So wonderful. And modern Popstars dont get it without Playback. Greets from my Heart from Germany!
Pop music can't even be compared to ethnic music. They are two separate worlds.
@@mirzaaljic I do not fully agree but I gey your point. This has so much soul in it, most pop music has no soul it's just a beat and words
Magic ... transcending time and something else I am not sure of.
Thank you for your gift ... we need it in these time
Joe from Texas
Joe Pehoski I like Joe from Texas. He’s alright
Well spoken Joe from Texas
Sena from Germany
Joe Pehoski It is a mixed language from southern Italy. Greek-Italian i guess (Magna Grecia)
I freaking love the director's hair.
I love each of them!
Yes! Omg she's so pretty!
This is what i m thinking
Her name is Vasiliki Anastasiou, and you should pay more attention toher skills as Choral Director !

I can't believe how fast I have been recovering from my seizures due to Acapella music! So Grateful 🙏❤️ God for your gift!
Dawn, music has healing powers in many forms. It opens the flood gates like a dam relieving pressure. Traditional Chinese Medicine uses chanting/tones to open energy meridians. I practice Qigong for self healing, play the bagpipes & love singing. Music has a power ...

Μπράβο .
I like to think that this is the sort of thing Aristotle would have listened to.
Yep. I'm totally learning greek now. Beautiful music! Thanks from me to you! ♡
This is actually a dialect from Italy called Griko. Almost extinct. This is a mix of italian and greek more or less. If a perfext language ever existed, this would be it.
Fantastyczne!! I Kobiety i te całe przedstawienie.

there conductor is amazing
Intelligent. Unique. Opposite forces of harmonius choreography. I love your work . Γιώργος Καραγιαννις - Αυστραλια ❤️
So I'm now a couple songs in and I feel so silly for crying but I feel like their singing about a cure for everything that ever happened or will happen
legit thought I was the only one lol
No it's ok I cried and didn't understand why lol
Maybe because it originally is a lullaby.
Maybe we all need that soothing melody to make us feel safe again. Even if it's just for a few minutes.
The harmonics are just stunning. I've been looking for this for years
This lullaby was born in southern Italy (Magna Graecia), sung in a Greek dialect.
Translation? Please.
Hello, do you have any more info about this? Do you know where exactly in South Italy?
I am a greek cypriot, and once i here a song in Greco italian ,the greek words was so familiar ,same my greek cypriot dialect
Magna Grecia.
The transition after 2:34 is perfection 😭💞
And the harmony at 4:29 is pure magic 🪄✨🌟
OH YEAH!! Thank you for this!!
See how beautiful this child is.
It’s beautiful at noon
and how beautiful it is the whole day (too?)
How is it going to go if I hit you?
and if I hit you
I will have to make you quiet
My daughter eats the eggs
Her mother is roasting them
And my daughter sips them
Its mother lays it in bed
and it does sleep
With its father and mother
When she will grow she will weave (metaphorically) coaxing
And she will weave the cloth
To make a shirt for her father

Performance art taken to the highest level♥️
I can't understand any word of this beautiful song but for some reason it takes me back to the time I visited the Balkans as a child and the time I was wandering through the streets of Bosnia and Croatia silently and in curiosity. Few songs make me feel a nostalgia this intense. You all are beautiful I love you ❤️

hermoso, muchas gracias!

Con gusto, bendiciones
This sounds magical! Sending love from Turkey ❤️
Honestly, if you aren’t blowing bubbles to express the joy of singing, are you even doing it right? 🤷♀️
Beautiful singing and direction! I love how they’re reading the paper at the beginning and rambling and she says...”shhhhhh!” So powerful.
Очень необычно, красиво и реально круто! Вы большие молодцы!
Ok, seriously, what service (iTunes, Amazon, direct purchase, etc) has theses Ladies’ library of songs for digital purchase? I would like to pay for their time and sharing their beautiful voices.
The bubbles and giggling at the end makes me so damn happy 🤣

I also want to see them survive.
It is possible to read the lyric from this great voices?
Thanks for giving the sound that many people can enjoy it.
You are great!
Why does this sound so familiar to me hmm
singing in ancient greko dielect.
Could u tell me what it is abt it ? I wish there where eng sub¡
I think it sounds like calabrian Greek, or a similar dialect from southern Italy. Ancient Greek doesn't have some of the consonants they're using
Eva Ntotsia that’s because it is in Salento Greek dialect, which is basically identical to that of Calabrian Greek and Sicilian Greek. All of them are near extinction.
Eres genial! pasas del caos a la armonía en dos segundos! Bravooo!
I'm ready to get married to a greek man😂😂😂
Imagine the African culture and this mixed together. Amazing!
Someone write a song like this :D

Its very hard to translate it darling. The lyrics is a mix of a greek- italian dialect and i only can catch the greek part of the song. Its a beautiful mix this language and very very old

holy shit, i love music
Amazing!! Does anyone know exactly what this is? Is it a lullaby from South Italy? Is it an original piece?
They are intonated even when they talk toghether ahahah xD
I can see Hebrew a little but never got why people think greek sounds like Spanish. I've seen a lot of people think I speak Spanish too! Spanish is a very softly spoken language while greek is a bit more 'jagged' and harsh.
Just commenting for 300 comments, beautiful performance
