- Is the GC200 the Best Road in the World? In the 2nd episode of my trip with Canary Motorcycle Tours we tackle yet more of the fantastic motorcycle rides available in Gran Canaria. Twist and turn follows twist and turn, all surrounded in breathtaking scenery, awesome food, and incredible hospitality.
Just when you think it can't get any better, we reach the utterly amazing 'West Coast Road' GC200 and my mind was simply blown. It is without doubt one of the best stretches of tarmac I've ever had the privilege to ride.

Brings back memories. We had our last break at that restaurant and the roads were awesome. I was knackered after that ride because as you found out the level of concentration required is 100% at one point I stopped talking on my Vlog, which is unheard of! 😂

Epic video ! I toured all over Europe on a NC750X IN 2018.
9 Countries, 18,000+ miles in 14 months.
Really miss the storage but don't miss the underseat tank or the saddle.
With my 15 stone 90+ litres of luggage and it still returned 70+ mpg.
If you want a cheap touring bike for road use I think it really ticks pretty much all the boxes.
I reckon the Canaries would be great on the NC.
Had a family holiday in Gran Canary only last week, so could only manage a single day with Canary motorcycles. Absolutely stunning day, didn’t want it to end👍
As u know Bruce I’ve been following your channel for a few years now - don’t know how I missed this - but I think I have just watched the best motor cycle RUclips vid ever - and I’ve watched a good few - not going to ramble - but his vid is - well - what life is for!! - BTW - weird to hear u talk about going back to work - u have come a long way my friend. You like motorcycling so much because you have the contrast from work, you would get bored if you were biking all the time! You could alway apply to be a motorcycle cop!

Having ridden behind Martin a few times I am always amazed at his corner speed and lack of braking. On last years trip I rode the NC750 that Martin normally rode (before the Vstrom). Had to go and get a new rear tyre, the centre was still fine but the outside edges completely had it! Think I'm sold on the images your Gooro 7 takes; a step up from my Hero 4 I think. Great vid 👍👍

Bit of a shock coming from N.Z. to Australia, and being sun-smart, still got a basal-cell carcinoma on my arm. Slip on a shirt, slop on sun-screen and slap on a hat. When I see people sunbathing on 35degree days it makes my hair stick up... it's like seeing an accident victim. Those roads look great. Inspires to ride from Sydney to Perth... I drove it but that's not so much fun. Ah, someone beat me to it.

Just re-watched this vid, it is amazing. We have ridden the GC200 every year for the past four years trying to keep up with Martin. In fact this is the week we would have normally been there, sadly wasn't to be this year. what they offer as an all in package is amazing. Joy does a fabulous job of organising and Martin is probably the best road rider I've ever followed.
Hope you get chance to return soon, these guys like many have been hit by folks reluctance to travel re Covid.

Thanks for a great video,we had 4 days with Martin and Joy (Shirley Valentine) about 5 years ago when he had Honda 500cbf s.We decided to book with them last minute and actually stayed at there property,they were a fab couple.I thought it would be a 3 out 10 holiday but couldn't be more wrong the roads were fab the island beautiful and great company.Martin is super smooth on bends and I was trying to keep up with wife on back so I know how you were feeling keeping him in sight .Just to say the closest roads we have come across to it was northern Tailand but that's was for my 50th treat.

Great vid Bruce - one of the most enjoyable bike blogs ever. I felt for you, trying to keep Martin's tail - not easy when you didn't match him on horses and the view is dragging your attention away. I hope his business is returning to normal. It would be great to see you go back with LCR in tow.

Went to corsica last year and i have done the alps the pyrenees all very good roads but corsica just blown my mind its just one great road after another. it has european bikers but very little uk ones its just not promoted over here,[ i think there trying to keep it a secret from us].for routes just download the WRC route map from this years race.And the overnight ferry is no more than a room for the night so you can book the midnight ferry with a cabin and be there for the morning.
I really want to do Corsica on a bike. Sounds amazing.

Love it Bruce keep up the good work also I no we all love twisties but I would do that road at 20 mph just to look at the hillsides and scenery

So glad you didn't go mad on the editing and gave us time to enjoy the road and scenery. Don't get me wrong, I love the action edited vlogs but for this ride the longer shots were more appropriate.

brilliant video, i am a very new rider and everything seemed so fast! that GC200 was like sitting in an IMAX cinema ride. The amount of times i raised my leg out of the way haha. We been going to GC for 30 years on beach holidays and seen a lot of the island by coach. Next time I need to do it by bike tour!

I have done GC three times with Martin and Joy, The tenerife trip is awesome, the TF24 is just an amazing road, GC is an amazing place and Joy and Martin are great, really helpful and friendly.

Hi Bruce. A terrific set of rides and I have no doubt I’ll be doing this in the next couple of years. One of the guys who got me back to the bike last year raves about the routes you’ve taken here! Mind you, I’m here in Cyprus at the moment, hired a car with my wife and a couple of friends and headed out into the Troodos Mountains for three days. Absolutely fantastic roads that are perfect for motorcycles - but only saw one touring! The road between Troodos and the Kykko Monastery would be worth anyone’s time on a bike. The NC750X does not have 45 BHP. It has 54 BHP. Here are the specs: 40.3 Kw / 54 HP @ 6250 RPM -- 68 Nm / 50.8 FT-LB @ 4750 RPM. Obviously the Red Line is set at 6250 RPM, which is very low. There is 1500 RPM between max torque and max BHP. Marketed as a commuter bike, it is very fuel efficient. The fuel tank is under the seat at only 14.1 liters. Since April 2019 when I acquired the bike at the dealer, I got between 4.56 and 3.37 l/100km which is excellent, especially in a context where authorities all over the world are starting to put a higher price on carbon. This suggest between 300 and 400 km per tank. Typically at 100 kph (62 mph), I get 3200 RPM in sixth gear. Some say this bike is meant to drive a automatic transmission. There is a DCT (Double Clutch Transmission) version available. My bike is manual.
