i was on a lads holiday last month in gran canaria and one day i went off and hired a Vstrom and went on a tour of the island. i was absolutely shocked at how beautiful the roads were. best day ever!

Been lucky enough to ride the GC200 several times over the years. One of the all time great roads👍👍

Nicely done Bruce. The GC-200 was good, but my standout favourite was the GC-210. Bit wilder and almost no traffic. Let’s just say that I was glad I had an adventure bike at the time though!

Just done the gc 200 with pillion , then onto the gc210 ... gee that was a challenge on the switchbacks , view was stunning . You are right tho , best roads in the world , off out again tomorrow... january 23 degrees maybe higher.😅

Bruce, Once they finish the motorway through the mountains next to the GC200, do you think they'll shut the road, like the lower sections ?
I really hope they don’t - I suspect it’s as much a tourist draw as anything else so it would be madness to close it surely?🤷♂️

You can take it on as hand luggage no problem - it comes under ‘Safety Equipment’.
I’ve got a big kit bag so it goes in there in the hold
I bought the Oxford 'Lidstash' helmet bag, and used it as hand luggage. It's big enough to put gloves and a few extra bits in. I then upgraded my seat on easyJet and got a second hand luggage included. Helmet bag and small suitcase (second hand luggage) was enough for the whole week.

The inland section where you’re up in the mountains riding down valleys etc is similar to the Pico’s in places yes. Obviously Pico’s is much greener on the whole, but both fantastic places to ride.
I’m back in the Pico’s next week actually, first time since 2019, can’t wait 👍
