Wales never fails to deliver 👍👍👍👍
It’s mint eh 👍👏
Haha, i was having a coffee in that very shell garage earlier today!! Welcome to my playground, best roads in Britain.
Loved that Bruce and Simon - Wales is hard to beat isn't it....I rode the brilliant B4391 (Maya's road) last month as it happens - what a stonka!!
Cheers Andy, aye it has some gems for sure, bet your Goldwing is beautiful to ride along those twisties 👍
One of my favourite roads in Wales used to be my route home. Get your cold ass to Abergavenny across the Brecons, frosty fingers in August, then head South following the winding river downhill towards neath and enjoy the sensation of fingers derfosting with every 100m decended. When you get past Neath to the M4 it becomes apparent that you are in British summertime
Beautiful countryside, country roads with perfect sweeping bends🤓😎🏍💨💨💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🥂
Beautiful, feel privileged it's on my door step
Thanks for sharing this one Teapotone brilliant! 👌👍
No bother Les, glad you enjoyed it 👍
Looked again at the video and the rider at 3.13 that you passed by was me!! I stayed at the Royal Oak Hotel!
Ha Ha, small world eh! 👍
Have just completed 5 weeks in Spain using Simons routes. Absolutly fantastic! What a great contribution to our biking world.
Thank you.
Great idea Bruce for you to tie up with Simon Weir! It's a great way to pass the winter evenings, watching these fabulous touring routes that Simon has devised. I've just downloaded the gpx of this Betws route into my Nav 6. Thanks again, keep 'em coming, especially the UK based stuff!
Always a pleasure Bruce. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺💪
Hi Chris, mate I'm not sure why I hadn't replied to this, my apologies!
Thanks very much for such generosity, I greatly appreciate it👍
It's lovely around there, glad you're enjoying boys
Love this route bruce try to do it once a year 👍 awesome
Thanks bud
Absolutely brilliant I love riding in Wales 👍
Grat video of some of our Sunday roads. The EVO triangle named after the car mag EVO as they used it to do their road tests and unfortunately doomed that road.
There was another road that you went onto very quickly which is our favourite piece of road anywhere but can't say which one as to keep it for us. 🤣🤣
Loved that Bruce and Simon. Give us plenty more please.
This Route has got to be one of my favourite such lovely roads! Great vid thanks Bruce!
Great roads as ever. Remember when Simon did his routes in Ride Magazine then published Bikers Britain. Each time you two do a video of the latest routes I follow along with the book open, and make notes - like the average speed camera zone or that naughty camera on the A470... purely for reference purposes of course. Keep them coming gents, it's a tough job but somebody's gotta do it 👍
Ha Ha cheers Rob 👍
ThrbpRy of Wales has some amazing roads, can’t believe you haven’t done some of them. I nearly got caught out at that bridge on a sports bike once. I was stood up on the pegs counterbalancing like a MoroGP legend. Probably looked like a knob but I kept it on my side of the road 😂😂
Absolutely brilliant country and roads, thanks for bringing us along!
Great video Bruce, was in betws y coed a few weeks ago. Being a fellow Celt from Wales and very biased Wales is a stunning place with breathtaking views and amazing biking roads. Keep the vids come there awesome
Late to the party on this for me, Looks a cracking ride and Simon never fails to deliver some great roads. Mint.
“It’s very nice!” 😂😂😂Great video, Bruce.
He’s a man of few words…. Sometimes 🤣👍
Awesome video Bruce, I have Simon's A - Z but it's so much better watching you both riding it with the great banter. Makes you want to get out and ride it.
Awesome, cheers 👍
What a great video. I am a HUGE fan of Simon's routes, I already have two of his books and the A toZ is on my Christmas list. I work as many of his recommended roads into my touring routes as I can and they are always absolute corkers. Off to watch some more of this series.
Cheers Neil, there’s loads more to come in this series, we aim to try and do the entire book eventually!
@@teapotone It's a tough job, but somebody's got to do it.
The dogging comment was so unexpected it had me laughing out loud 😂
Morning Bruce. What a great vid to wake up to on a Sunday morning! Not ridden there since that late 1990s with my wife Sammy. Thank you so much for a trip down memory lane, brilliant stuff again. Until your next vid, stay well and safe riding!
Thanks Lee, great to hear you enjoyed it 👍
Gonna ride this next year on the Suki. Cracking video Bruce.
Thanks bud, it’s a great route, you’ll love it 👍
In September a friend and I followed a Simon Weir tour, 2 weeks in northern Spain and Portugal which was amazing. We had a brilliant time and the route, roads and stops were perfect. He is a really nice bloke to speak to and a great ambassador for motorcycling. Really enjoyed the video and looking forward to more of these.. As a Yorkshire man I would love to see you up here but would also like to see Simon riding the Caister road which he loves so much.
Hi....new to you're Chanel....loving the rides and the running commentary lol....
🎅
Cheers Bob, welcome to the channel bud 👍
@@teapotone when your back in North Wales try the A494 from Mold to Bala.... fantastic road....fast... shallow Twisties and no camera's 🤫
When you get to Bala...turn left before the lake and take the old Roman road over the mountain to lake Vyrnwy. It's not a fast road by any means but it will blow your mind....take a right when you get to the lake ... there's another small right turn about a mile down that brings you back to Bala.... again...very slow road but out of this world 🙏
Great video!
I NEED to feed my 900XR some more Welsh roads, they are awesome. I did a few days in South Wales a few months ago but the friend who booked it booked us in to a place in Hereford! lovely place, but not in Wales which the rest of us thought would be an obvious requirement for a Welsh holiday.
Even the A roads like the A470 are nice down there.
Get up Brecon no worries thank me later
I did the Wales 4-day tour from the 2nd edition book in July this year, as the start location was from Leicestershire it was hard to turn down this suggested tour in the book from Simon! Wales is an obvious destination for some awesome motorcycling roads with views thrown into the mix & hardly any commercial traffic. My 1st time through the Pass of Llanberis & the A4069 Black Mountain were exhilarating! I'll be back again sometime soon. 👍👍👌
What great roads Bruce look forward to more vids 👍
Good to see you and Simon enjoying some of my regular roads. Great route gents
The cafe at LLyn Brenig on the B4501is brilliant
Great video Bruce and Simon 🏴
Thanks bud👍
Very enjoyable video.. Keep up the good work.. 👌😎
I live on part of that route, and about a decade ago, I lived on another part of it. Excellent roads. But if you think the A470 from South Wales is good... oh man, you need to explore the North some more my friend!
That B-road that's "easy to miss" used to be my daily ride, and I've come up it well north of the limit with an officer behind me that did not bat an eye lid.
The road with the "little cards that go faster when you pull them back" - is often used as a police training road (for cars), so it's actually quite common to find things with silver bonnets crossing the centre line.
I recommend staying at the mill hotel in Chester when heading up to Wales, its a great base with secure bike parking
Lovely to see your in Wales lol carefully 🤣🤣🤣🤣Caerphilly 😎😎I'm familiar with the whole a470 and every part of ya video top lads keep posting
6:54 on the vid the left junction is a cracking road to Old Colwyn, at 7:01 the junction the the right is another great but narrow road to the A5 at Pentrefoelas
Cheers Tommy👍
Mr Weir knows his onions! There are some great roads in Denbighshire the only downside is (particularly on the Evo) increasing amounts of average speed cams!
At 18:10 there's a little back road back to Bala behind Llyn Celyn
Interesting one, thanks.Manxman 🇮🇲👍
Nice. That Skoda you said can shift.i would be thinking unmarked plod 😚
Absolutely fantastic showcase of all my local roads I am so lucky to live around, Maja is bang on too, that B4391 is to die for. And I didn't even know about that sneaky speed camera!
Apparently it’s not a speed camera, it’s just a traffic management one… apparently 👍
@@teapotone I did't think it was a speed camera as I have done a wee bit more than 60 past it 🤭
Enjoyed that, two good riders on good roads not going daft. Also not worried about saying oops got the corner not quite right, coz wee all get some a bit wibbly wobbly👍👍
Perfect Video Bruce.more like this please
Pronunciation tip: "Bet us (th)e coyd" leaving out the "th". I thank you.
Nice one, cheers 👍
Terrific stuff! I can see the spot where I dropped my Tiger 900 GT at the at the petrol station at the start of your journey when I was doing the Snowdonia 360 earlier this year!
Thank you
Llansannan road is my favourite too. I live in North Wales so play on it a lot & also the Llanrwst road to & from Abergele. I love going to Woods motorcycles in Abergele and taking out a demo or 2 from there for a play on said roads.
Great video Bruce I appreciate the faffage
Thanks bud 👍
That’s my back garden mate I live in Snowdonia
I have bought Simon's books which are great but I have also downloaded the gpx files and downloaded them into Calimoto and the BMW app. Great advice on how to do that Bruce, I never selected fasted route. So glad Simon said this was his favourite route as I have done this route a few times now and it is indeed awesome. I genuinely believe North Wales is one of the best places in the world to ride a motorcycle. Except Scotland of course 😅 I did the North Coast 500 during that heat wave and the West Coast was exceptional, on another level sometimes. Great job Bruce and awesome work Simon, 👍
Cheers Craig, glad the vid was of some use 👍
Love your videos with Simon. He's such a nice bloke as well. I bought some routes off his website and had some issues. He responded to me straight away and on a Sunday as well. Needless to say, it was 'operator error' !!!!
Nice one, aye he’s a top chap 👍
Stunning countryside beautiful roads I would say that being a very proud Welsh man love the commentary great video
Thanks Martin 👍
Love it 👍🏻
Thanks very enjoyable!
Would love to see you, TMF, and that Choppy chap do a three way bike review on this route. For example, a Versys 1000, V-Strom 1050, and a Yamaha MT-09. Or maybe three totally different machine, eg Kawasaki H2, GS, and a Gold-Wing.The rapport you all have would make it very easy viewing.
That’s not a bad idea! 👏👍
Late to the party this time but that was well worth waiting for, cracking video mate👌If it wasn't for the crazy names I would have sworn this was Scotland😜Oh wait it was dry...🤣
🤣👍
Great video, really enjoyed it
AWESOME run, I do enjoy these videos, especially when it is on parts of roads I've played on myself 🙂
Ha Ha cheers bud, glad you enjoyed this one 👍
Brilliant, heading over to purchase the route 🤜
Lovely you can’t beat Aberdeenshire, Deeside, Cairngorms and Speyside for motorcycle roads. Wales not bad, still too many people!
Fanatic route 👍🏻. Such a fun road by the looks of it 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Paul 👍
Big tip for using imported routes certainly with Garmin, set your navigation to ‘off road’ and it will then follow the imported route without change. Don’t forget to cancel the off road setting before using it as normal
Ah ok, hadn’t heard that before, cheers David 👍
I suppose this also works for navigator 6,
Txs for this tip
Amazing ride and lovely area, hard to not get distracted by the view. I really like these smooth rides. Thank you Bruce for your "hard work". 😉😂
I was in that area years ago but I don't remember it so nice but I have to admit it was with a Truck and through the night, the next day it was raining cats and dogs til I was back in Dover.
Ha Ha cheers Thomas, this is a ‘sacrifice’ I’m willing to make for you all! 🤣🤦♂️🤣
Raining… in Wales/UK..?
Never 😉
Yeah, right in Llandudno. Unbelievable, isn't it? 😂
Lovely… see
Another great vid 👌
Thanks bud
Great video and what a team!! 🏍🏍🏍
Thanks John 👍
Great video guys,many thanks!
👍
Also, the blue cameras around the uk are not speed cameras, they're for traffic management only.
Lovin these vids, but what a wind up, just want to ride there again soon. 👍
🤣😬🤷♂️👍
Great vid guys you pair bounce off each other perfectly ....Love that route so off to order my edition of the A-Z.....👌....Cheers you both keep up the good work...🥃🏴
Thanks bud, aye he’s a good lad isn’t he, always fun times 👍
Fit like min! magic!
Nae bad Chiel, fit’like yersel?
@@teapotone Ah now, that's as far as ma Doric goes! Family on ma Dads side came fae St Fergus some generations ago, but ah'm Edinburgh born and bred!
Gotcha, I’m from not far from there, a wee village called Mintlaw 👍
Great video, Simon does plan some quality routes.
Superb :-)
Thanks 👍
at 26:33 i dont think it is a speed camera, well, if it is then lets just say i must be a very lucky boy! my last tour of Wales i had to make quick tracks over that road to go and pick a van up for one of our group who had dropped their bike and i went through there quick. I love the tight bridge at the end but it can catch you out. Top A to Z this, i have to say i lost the love of Wales as we have overdone it over the years, but if you leave it for a few months the love comes back quick.
Cheers - it’s NOT a speed camera, apparently it’s a traffic management one
@@teapotone good to know as that road was perfect for my SAS 1290 as most mountain roads are 🤩😂
Sorry mate just finished your video and you have given out the info. Re gpx files , I’m now looking at simons web page . Brilliant just brilliant.
Nice one, he’s got SO many cracking routes there 👍
I have now download your trip via the Simon guy , wow stright into the bmw tft screen sat nav , amazing he has all over Europe for £ 1 each download, how cheep is that eh , thanks again , how many miles on your GS now mate , what’s your next bike ? KTM 1290 ?
Really enjoyed that Bruce but you do need to sort out that intermittent fault with your speedo LOL 👍👍
Shoddy workmanship if you ask me 🤷♂️😉
Rode through the village at the beginning of the vid,had many disapproving looks from vegan looking ramblers because of my Akra with the baffle out😬
Regarding who sees the sea first, with me and others in the north west of England, its who see's Blackpool Tower first🤣🤣
Agree with Simon. Wales has the best biking roads but Scotland does it for scenery.
not a speed camera just traffic cam they have on the A5 at Bethesda too. if it was would be without licence ten times over lol
Have you tried the Wild Atlantic.Way around the coast of Ireland North and South. You can do it in a day but a long weekend is way better 🍻🍻🍻 or our coast Rd the A2 mind blowing if you can ride in fast enough
No not yet, but it’s on my list 👍
Hayabusa roads..sweeping bends. Love 'em...
Another great video . Wales is amazing 👍Have you noticed any increase in fuel consumption since you put the new exhaust on ?
No absolutely none👍
@@teapotone Thanks for the reply 👍
Nice part of the world it is. Ps please tell me that you went to the bakery in the Spar shop? They make waggon wheels and walnut whips!!!
WHAT?!?!?!?! HOW did I not know about this 🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤦♂️🤣
Is that in Betws-y-coed?
@@teapotone Yes it is. It was about 100 yards on the left before you turned right over the bridge.
@@teapotone Yes it is true. Very nice food in there. I was having a low sugar moment so I went in and noticed the homemade waggon wheels and walnut whips. Sounds like your mate is holding back info 🤣
Nice route! The cafe at 10 mins (Olivia's) does a great breakfast with a lovely view outside and you often see bikers passing while having your reasonably priced breakfast. Would reccomend!
Well, if someone had once told me I would be willing to go back to the UK to ride my bike, I would have thought “poor loony”…
Haven’t crossed the channel for over 20yrs, might be a nice end of drought 👍
The Hexham loops would be good to see.
JUST ORGANIZED A TRIP TO DO HARDKNOTT PASS NEXT YEAR. HAVE YOU DONE IT YET?
I think I have yes, I’ve done loads of the passes but couldn’t tell you which one is which 😬
I know Hardknott is apparently the steepest
great vid teapot but you are wrong about the rain scotland is wetter than wales look it up
You should have asked the old lad if he goes to the dogging spot ha ha
ALOHA, Teapotone! Was just surfing YT videos & came across your channel. Loving the footage! Outstanding scenery. Wanting to know what kinda bike to bike comm system do you use? Very clean sound, cutting out much of the background wind noise...Or is that done in post?
Hi Harry, welcome to the channel.
I use the Cardo Edge, has inbuilt wind reduction 👍
Great video really enjoying these as currently I don’t have the time to get out at the moment
Silly question have you started doing something different in editing the last couple of videos seem to just look great the colours look great (I’m no expert they just seem to look better)
I got the Hero 10 and started filming everything in 4K, just makes the image look deeper and sharper, even when downscaled on RUclips 👍
@@teapotone looks great keep up the good work
That isn't a speed camera it is a surveillance / traffic management camera 26.36 as far as I know and I travel down that way quite a bit.
I have literally just yesterday put a deposit on this exact bike with the heated seat and aux lights and managed to get a steal with my 10% blue light discount @ Bmw park lane, but i forgot to ask if i need a special rack for the vario top box? The bike has the pillion package and the lugs for the panniers built in
I believe you will need the ‘plate’ for the top box
What do you think of the rokka Suit Brucie boy
Aye the Rukka is the best kit I’ve worn so far, totally waterproof, warm (especially when combined with the padded jacket and trousers), and looks good.
Only criticism is I wasn’t aware the slide rating was so ‘poor’. Keeping in mind my Nivala is their top of the range kit, I’d assumed it was top spec with everything, but it’s not.
If you’re looking at Goretex textile kit, then definitely consider Rukka, but KLIM, Dane, Lindstrands, Halvarssons etc are all worth a look too.
Downloaded a handful of Simons routes and working through them to keep sharp. If you buy the book is there a link to get the gpx files or another way to transfer them to sat nav Bruce / Simon?
You don’t get the gpx files with the book no.
You just buy them on his website, and either open the link in Calimoto, or download them to your computer, put on an sd card, then import them into your satnav 👍
Great video guys , I'm trying to ride one route per week from the book 👍
Nice one Tony 👍
