  • 2023 marks the final year of production for the Dodge Charger, along with its platform mates the Dodge Challenger and the Chrysler 300. Many will bemoan the loss of the various V8 models, but for me, it is the lowly V6 at the Enterprise Rental Counter that I will miss the most. So long, old friend. Hello to some hapless Nissan. We are worse off for this.

100% agree. The rental in Seattle gave me a choice of a black GT with the hump on the hood, a boring Camry or an Altima. It had tons of torque, good handling to climb Mount Ranier and great sound. What a joy to drive.

Maybe they’ll bring it back in 10 years. Never know.

Why does it have the front grill and hood of an SXT? My GT has the styling of the R/T. I thought all GTs had that styling?

+1 Looks like an SXT to me. Pretty sure 2023 GTs all have the hood scoop and the same front & rear fascia as the R/T. Plus there's no "GT" on the rear trunk lid of this one.

I've owned a Scat Pack Charger and in 2024, the only Charger I would consider is the GT. The only reason to go up on the trim level is increased performance and if you are performance-oriented, it makes more sense to go with the Tesla Model 3 Performance (a Hellcat killer for less than $50,000).

Not a GT, it's an SXT base model.

Perhaps the earlier GT versions of this final generation looked like that, but later versions of the actual GT were given the same body panels as the current RT.
The video we are both refering to states the F8 green Charger is a current 2023 model. The 2023 model GT has different rear bumper covers, different exhaust exits, different grilles, different front bumper covers and lastly, a different hood with a pronounced single hood scoop. I currently own a 2023 Charget GT and therefor know what I am talking about.@@barnun131

At 75 on the highway, the real mileage is over the stated 30 MPG.

I wouldn't mind being seen in that test car. It does not look like a rental in the say a Chevy Malibu or base Nissan Altima does for instance.

I didn't realize there was any HP difference between the SXT and GT. I wonder what accounts for the extra 8 HP.

      Probably just the ECU

It’s a shame that even in 2023 the last call that the car doesn’t come with standard safety features like most manufacturers have done. You can buy a car that can go 100 miles per hour but won’t keep you safe. I’m a fan of the car, engine and all that. But. Competitiveness the car never had a chance to

Sorry. Didn’t attach to many buyers. Just me. I own a 5.7 last call. Out the door for 43187 on a 50 k car with 0 safety features.. I knew what I was getting however.

That is correct it is an SXT. About 3 weeks ago I bought a new 2023 GT GO Mango and then a week later bought our soon to be 18 year old daughter a black SXT. Both same engine but they have differences. Hood, tailpipes, etc. She loves her vehicle and so do I. I am 73 and when I was in my teens used to work at Chrysler dealership and in 20s went to work for Chrysler Credit. My new Charger reminds me of those days.

GT is all wheel drive option. I have the same Last Call GT with the same awesome green and the V6. Cannot hide my smile while driving it around Detroit.

I'd rather have a base model Avalon. Way less cool. Also has gone the way of the dodo bird. But I think could eat miles with the best of them. RIP large comfortable sedans.
