      Good evening Mr Shekhar Gupta, iam an avid follower of print and especially cut the clutter but this is first comment, at the outset I want to compliment you on your style of journalism and the clarity, depth and level of your journalism, I just wanted to bring to your notice that a pakistani establishment stooge who runs a RUclips channel across our western borders has launched a attack on you and the print, comparing him with you is like chalk and cheese, he relies on propaganda, fake news, Google searches and hogwash. Please give a befitting reply to him which he richly deserves. Keep up the good work.

      I know you're just reading from the report, but again you're missing the point about Hindi Heartland states, particularly about Bihar. I would write to you in detail some day, and hope you'd publish that verbatim, but this report is just plain old babudom. I can understand how people like Jairam Ramesh, who are just as useless as those babus, don't get anything. But, I'm often surprised how an intelligent person like SG could not get it either; how could SG have consistently miss the point about Bihar throughout his career!! Hindi word for such naive understanding of Jairam Ramesh is "Purvagrah", but can't even say that about SG. This is not to say Bihar is not performing bad, but your (and most others') analysis of why Bihar is performing bad is inaccurate.

For example electric charging station every 200 km and plan to make it one every 100 km by 2022. Kfone to provide fibre net through kseb. But one thing I see as a draw back is they can't ban single use plastic as it is needed for tourism but good waste management. In case of industries labour Unions are major hindrance that's why everyone hesitate to start industry there.

    UP model doesn't exist. When Yogi talks about UP model I lose everything. Seriously they need a CM speaking the truth not someone who rules it for 5 years and claims to suddenly change UP from UP to Kerala or Gujarat. It takes time and UP needs time.
    Gujarat Model and Kerala model is being mixed to form Tamil Nadu.
    So I think the best model is Tamil Nadu model. Low unemployment rate unlike Kerala and like Gujarat but at the same time better human development than Gujarat and like Kerala.
    We need a mix of Kerala model and Gujarat Model. Both are imperfect. But mixing will help .
    Kerala's one of the best states to settle down when you are old. The human development is very high there and you can see that there. But for Youth it is not a good place. Gujarat has too many extremes. As you exit Gujarat's cities you can't differentiate it from MP or Rajasthan.
    The industries begin to disappear, roads become rarer and the poverty begins to show up.
    While Kerala's villages don't even look like villages. There are roads, health centres, schools. Pretty much all basic facilities but the youth have no option but to leave the state for jobs. If I would retire someday I would choose Kerala over any state but if I choose to find a job I will not choose Kerala. That is the flaw in Kerala model.
    We need India to adopt the pros of both models.

    The map showing education says the root cause of most rotten social indicators. First provide education for all kids and I believe it should be criminalized if kids are not sent to school. The nutrition aspect of kids could also be fixed with better school meals and we could have atleast yearly weight, height and eyesight monitored, and vaccination drives for seasonal viruses also centered around schools. I don't know if they have just recategorized malnutrition with stunted growth, but I doubt it's the same and it deserves a separate survey. We should also start to live in 2021 and have a very comprehensive sexual health education covering everything from concent, sex-gender-sexuality, hygiene, health of reproductive organs , contraception, stds, definitely education about pregnancy related pre and postpartum issues. Maybe all of that would organically cut down the fertility rate and too young and dangerous pregnancies. We need more educated and well equipped parents for a healthy next generation, so maybe we should start thinking about providing parental classes via ASHA workers, rather than raising kids solely relying on tradition

      @Impersonal Immigrant communists in kerala performed destruction of feudalism in 1956 and created a population each owning capital(land). They then ensured welfare policy of good education and hospitals(human capital investment).
      In capitalism capital makes capital. People pledged their land, sold their skills(education) worldwide.
      I dont know of TN. This is how kerala became social capitalist state(kerala model).
      In globalized world people go to place where oppurtunities lie. Keralites saw that in gulf and all over the world.
      In land reform didn't happen in independence for bengal(even other parts of india), when cpim came in 1970s the peasents had already moved to naxalism. The cpim government did land reforms but couldn't ensure human capital development like schools or hospitals(naxalism also contributed to destruction). They ultimately failed because they tried to enter industrialisation in a far late stage.
      Sustainable development means growth whiles sustaining everyone's need. Thats why welfare policies improve SDG.

      Over last few years Political branding of the word Bhakt targeted at Hindus is so successful that _even_ Hindus use this word to insult other Hindus for their political beliefs.
      Christians & Muslim can not be called Bhakt . Certain political parties are very sure of their Votes so no efforts to divide them
      This *word Bhakt is the trend in the run up to 2024 Election* . It is another tool used to create divide among Hindus. Region, caste etc already exist. Now its intellectual divide .
      Ignorant, backward = Bhakt .
      Saffron = Bhakt.
      Cow urine = Bhakt.
      Uneducated North India/ UP = Lnd Bhakt as they pray to Shivling .
      With social media as the means , the word Bhakt has been well imprinted in ppl's minds. Self pride will not allow anybody to want to be in this category

      Your other point about Refugees and facing divide, Punjab was divided too.
      The point about centre not helping , that is factually incorrect.
      And your last point, Bengal has done more than enough I think that's exactly the problem, not taking responsibility for the mistakes made by the people and the govt and not asking for accountability.
      Bengal is among the best connected state with Rail and Road, it has an international port(makes a huge difference,), it has domestic ports. It has almost everything that any other well performing state has and it still does badly. Its time Bengal should ask for accountability instead of blaming other people for the mess we have created in our state.

    Sir, just plotting the number of parliamentary seats the better states and the laggard States contribute to the Indian parliament, would have told us why the country is in the state that it is. This is a nation that earns it's money from the better states, but is ruled by the laggard ones.

    Entire comment section is filled with hate against Kerala. Fyi, They are the best. Learn from them. Working in gulf or otherwise, they are the best. Accept it. My opinion is that hindi heart land should Give up spreading hate towards Hindu Muslim politics, Language, nationalism. Vote a party that works for your state instead of playing national politics. This is the reason for the development of south. Congrats to the northeast. Lets learn from each other.
    With Love from Tamil Nadu.

    I always appreciate you sticking up for people from north-east. There is latent, and sometimes blatant racism at play here. An idea that they are inferior or something. We need to be aware of that thought, and not let it blind us towards the fact that all of them are as much are brothers, sisters, friends and fellow countrymen as anyone else. Thank you for using your influence on this.

    • @abhinavnair790
      @abhinavnair790 3 года назад

      It was health and well being and not health care. There's a difference. Kerala has a huge diabetes and cardio-vascular diseases problem.
      Alcohol(hard drinks, no beer 😅) consumption is also very very high. Infact it tops the list in India there as well. A state with 20%+ muslims(largely non-drinkers) it has the highest per capita consumption of hard liquor.
      The health care system that being said indeed is very good. It's decentralised and effective.

      @@mikearun4672 Lolz Maharashtra contributes lion share to the Indias GDP. And its more than TN. Surely TN doing well and its a matter to be proud of . But saying what is Karnataka compared to TN is kinda rude. To stick up some stats for you. Karnataka has the highest GDP per capita among the bigger states. And TN is not even in the top ten. And also Banglore exports more IT than rest of the India combined. There is reason why TN is second to Kerala in the ranking. If it wd have done better than everybody else in everything it would be on the top.
