The beginning of the video tells us about the advantages of hosting the Olympics . . And suddenly when it comes to India hosting . . It is disadvantageous??? Every country has socioeconomic challenges . . Including the USA . . Hosting the Olympics will definitely put India on the global stage . . Just the way the 1936 Olympics did for Germany as mentioned in the video . . And I have been watching Think school vlog, the content and the approach has changed a little post the election results . . 🤔🤔🤔🤔

I think it’s better to spend the same money in developing sports infrastructure throughout India especially in tier 2 cities.India have a serious lacunae in sports infrastructure except for cricket. This will help build a sports ecosystem in our country.Spending 10’s of billions of dollars in one area won’t help India.Mostly it might become useless like seeing in cases like Rio and Beijing. Also there might be a short term influx of tourists but long term benefits are doubtful.Lets get atleast 10 gold in a single olympics and then host the games.

A war-torn country like Ukraine has won 11 medals ,and ranked at 18 with 3 gold medals...Jara socho kya moral rahi hogi unki athletes ke upar, they have sacrificed many athletes in the war...Still see their sportsmanship and patriotism.... See from this perspective, you have to accept that our athletes lack responsibility and patriotism and never give up attitude. The way they have performed in this Olympics, specially the badminton players was truly disappointing. I completely agree with the statement given by Prakash Padukone sir.....Lakshya jeeta hua matches haara , full of carelessness , 7-8 points lead mein rehte hue , aur match ko apni control mein rakhne ke bawajood bhi, kaise hara that's unbelievable , woh bhi back to back 2 matches mein... Cricket mein aisa hota toh match fixing, choker etc tag lag jaata.....But surprisingly , some players like Ashwini ponappa and Saina Nehwal are also complaining over something in this regard and trending in social media.... Cricket aur Bumrah ko beech mein laa rahe hai , this is totally unacceptable......Desh mein log cricket se jyada Badminton khelte hai , almost every city, town , village mein badminton courts ka hona common si baat hai, bade bade cities mein Badminton academies bhi hai ......So , Jaise cricketers aksar gaali sunte hai for poor performances, Badminton players ko bhi sun na hi padegaa....Baat agar paison ki hai , then Near about 500 crores has been spent on this contingent...... 4th position is unacceptable,ya toh 1-2-3 Bano ya out ho jaao.... 7-8 players ended up at 4th spot surprisingly ,....which shows how they had choked irresponsibly at crucial stages.... Ukraine ke khiladiyon ko dekho , hum se jyada unki condition aur kharab hai, still they are performing and won 11 medals for their country with 3 Golds.

Actually I think Brazil tried this with fifa when they hosted it despite having lot of demand for football in their nation they still took heavy losses
As for the renovating the stadium in to flats i'm not sure if it's even feasible
I think quatar did a good job in this they created a stadium using mostly shipping containers and can be easily disassembled well there might be more way to smartly use all the other infrastructure by the main reason countries even hist Olympics is because of sports washing Germany, Japan, china all used this strategy to gain international status
Olympics, fifa and other sports events are usually not seen as a major economic assert rather a political assert (not saying it's bad or anything)

If needed we can host different games in different cities like we do in IPL games.
In this way we need not to build a new stadium, players will directly go to their stadium as planned. We can use our existing security measures to not to spend on more security.

I thought that whatvever cost is being occured to build facilities.
Selling of sponsorships, satellite right and tickets shall recover a good amount.
To think that beijing olympics resulted in huge losses despite so much investment means purely from risk reward perspective rather use money to better existing facilities and setups to convert our bronze medals to gold 🥇
Thereby increase interest among kids at young age to take up sports other than cricket and once more gold flows in parents will be ready to send more kids to sport careers.
Once that demand kicks in naturally more facilities will open up as opportunities increasing further interest.

Events like the Olympics go beyond mere business; they unite people from all corners of the world, fostering a global sense of community. The Olympic Games highlight the importance of sportsmanship, bringing different cultures together in a celebration of human spirit and achievement. I still believe sportswashing is needed for a country like India as it is highly misunderstood around the world. Even our movie industry portrayed it in a bad light. It's just that recently things have changed. But after a decade I still believe we would have enough money to host an Olympics and better sportsmen.
And for the economics part of it, we have to consider that since we are hosting the Olympics there will be more eyeballs and Broadcasting rights will be a huge amount. If an annual event like IPL can get you a billion dollars, the olympics can also get that.
We can also expect a lot of pvt investments in the game city. So, the Govt will not have to bear all the costs.
In short I believe it will be a beneficial for India. I won't say economically beneficial but an overall net benefit.

Wrong, India has a home advantage plus the Ring of Unity center has been designed to be a focal point for the sports enclave. This will serve as a platform for cultural events, festivals, and commercial activities, accommodating up to 5,000 people comfortably, with the potential to expand to 12,000 with temporary structures. The Ring will feature an outdoor amphitheater, an open plaza, scenic walkways, and a waterfront deck, ensuring year-round enjoyment for residents and visitors alike. Moreover, the design of all SVP sports enclave incorparates versatile and modular facilities, allowing the stadiums to be adapted for different purposes, including national and international sporting events, concerts, cultural festivals, and community activities. This flexibility will ensure that the stadiums remain in use, generating revenue and serving the local population post Olympics.

    Great Analysis, Ganesh!
One more pattern, and most important one that comes out of this, and probably missed in the video is ADVENT OF INTERNET!
For Publicity and Branding , pre-Internet era (1990s), Olympics was very effective as that brought the world's eyeballs in front of a TV set. Thats why olympics until 1990s were somewhat profitable.
Post-Internet era, globalisation of knowledge also happened at a tremendous pace, hence nobody needs these landmark events to know about a country and its culture. Like you pointed out, Movies, Music and Animes etc. especially with OTTs can do this today much effectively and cheaply.
