That is something we all have to commend the Americans for achieving. Anybody can come and have the opportunity to be good at their craft with dignity and sense of satisfaction. These are the ideals all states should strive for.
It's interesting hearing my country described in such a way. 😅 A few clarifications: 1. All of the crazy products you see at the supermarket are not necessarily because there's demand for it (like blueberry almonds). Often it's someone taking a risk to see if it will stick, aka the "marketplace of ideas" and many of these products don't make it. Major corporations are under constant pressure by shareholders to have growth and one way they do this is to try out new products. Often they get the ideas from market research. 2. Speaking of market research, it may be the case that US simply has a longer more established marketing culture than India, which may explain some discrepancies. 3. California has a lot of space and it "looks nice", but that's actually part of the problem and the state is one of the most unaffordable in the country with a massive housing shortage. Cali actually needs LESS space between stuff to bring down the price of homes right now. Even people in tech can't afford the prices of homes. Only millionaires can live in many parts. There's actually been a huge migration of Americans leaving California to go to other cheaper states like Texas, Florida and Arizona. Those are currently the fastest growing states with I believe Texas leading. It would have been interesting for him to go there. I'm glad he visited though! We like tourists.
On one hand, we have people like Varun wanting wider roads and bigger infra. On the other, we have people like Dhruv rathee advocating for smaller roads to reduce pollution and encourage public transport. One is inspired by the US, the other is inspired by Europe. Which one is better for India?
True, But lets not forget ,States like Texas has 10 plus lanes and its still congested,Most people cant afford private vehicles, The government should focus more on public transport and Ofc roads are more important ,but public transport is utmost important
Dhruv is kinda right, I mean you can't just remove all the private infrastructure that's been build around the roads of Pune, Mumbai banglore etc to widen up the road. Even if u did the problem might come back later on. Bigger roads are only better option for brand new cities in future.

I agree with mostly everything Varun said. American is built around building brands and building excellent products and marketing are two important steps towards it. Where I alightly disagree is on his take on services. While yea access to healthcare in India is easy and there are very good doctors and hospitals, its not that difficult in the US since US does have emergency and urgent care system. Secondly you can make reservations for restaurants, salons, yoga studio or gyms etc easily through apps. In my experience there is a difference in service and its expectations between India and US. In the US service is built around efficiency, you will find staff to be friendly and knowledgable whereas in India you I feel like the staff almost bows down to you but often lacks knowledge of the product they are serving.
bro started speaking about packaging of products and ended up with branding, well curated video. I always wondered whats special with USA, what did they do different, this video answered my question. Thanks a lot. The video which no one wanted, but everyone should see just for an eye opener session.
Being good at services and hospitality in india gains it a extra point and we should also encourage more innovative ideas of rising entrepreneurs rather than copying the model ideas from West. By that only we can be a Atma nirbhar Bharat in all brands and commodities.
Thank you for the great video Varun. Being architects and dealing with urban environments, I can confidently say that widening roads is not the solution. It does more damage than anything. A much better reference for urban development is Barcelona. Having lived there for a while, I can genuinely say that it is a much better blueprint for creating pedestrian and liveable cities instead of creating wider roads. Apart from that, your larger argument about space makes sense, but I do have to say that Indian Building Code does have them but it is largely the negligence of authorities and historical inheritance that the open space laws regarding buildings are not implemented. Complex for sure, but we need to start tackling them.
Definitely agree with you with respect to the widening of roads and Barcelona being a good model for urban development. As an Indian architect living in the US, wide roads indicate a car dependent society and ignoring the needs of the masses with a deprioritization of mass transit, and honestly you need a car here to survive. Also, the so called "new decent buildings" are pigeon holes designed and built without any the residents in mind. Replicating things from the US in India would be a nightmare in the end.
@@saywhat777 If you look at Barcelona, the city department faced a similar issue of having too many cars on the road in the 1980's. It's weird with the USA, as people hate their day jobs even with a better dignity of labor as compared to India. In India, people look down working in restaurants as waiters, but expect great hospitality.
Increasing FSI (floor space index) will solve a lot of the aesthetic and space problems in our big cities. Roads can be widened, people can be shifted to newer high-rises, and with more and more high rises, ( I mean more than 20 floors) the property prices will come down, people can afford houses, commercial spaces will get freed up, new construction of retails outlets will happen, rents will decrease, businesses will be viable, encroachment will decrease.

one thing i would like to point out, widening roads just results in the same amount of traffic jam spread over all the lanes. it might sound like it works on paper but it actually doesnt
India and USA is like getting born in poor and rich family. 1) Rich family like to provide them with intellect. Also provide opportunities, support, and never give up,hence after 100 failure they succeed. 2)In Poor and middle class, they say "Sharma ji ke beta/beti kho dekho",hence they never developed low self-esteem,and live life of dogma, hence cannot come with inspiring idea's that you mentioned in this and other videos. Matter of fact if "You" were born in poor/middle class family you were never given opportunity to start content creation and told to suck up and take a 9-5 mediocre job, but as a youth i think indian parent are letting their children to take risk and supporting their future endeavours, without thinking about "Sharma ji se kya kahoonga " Hence i think our youth make india great with their (stories) achievements .
So true, 25 years back I wanted to study data science and AI but my father said I would end up being a school teacher and forced me to study Naval Architecture. Their argument was the same as what society would think.
Great video! On the difference in infrastructure between the US and India, widening roads should not be an aspiration for indian cities. There is a lot of research on this that has shown that increasing lanes only temporarily fixes congestion and then proceeds to induce more demand and gets back to being congested again. It almost always leads to increased cost, inconvenience, eventually congestion, noise and reduced air quality. European cities also have narrow roads, but differ from the US in density and differ from India in quality of public transportation. TLDR: Wider roads are not necessarily better, India needs better public transport.
Even if coustomers started to have really diversified tastes, most of the items will be american ingridients inspired only, not local ingridients inspired.

Excuse me what? You can't just drop a bombshell like you tried to create a Disney but for India and just leave, PLEASE ELABORATE !!!
Yout started from a Grocery store and then end with the future growth opportunity of India.
That's great. .. (And in between you also played your speech in Master's Union)..
Varun your standard of say a story is getting far superior, and entrepreneur like us also learning it from you which means India one day will grow like USA and the quality of your videos are inspiring others also to make superior content from India for the world. These are intangible profits you are earning
It’s the long game. We will figure out how this is valuable to us a decade later but for now let’s make good content that’s useful and fun to watch!
First time on your channel and you blew my mind with storytelling, visuals, structure and editing.
Loved everything about the video, great insights, gonna learn storytelling and branding 🎉
Focus should be on: How Indian can build better brands than American..?
The kind of explanation, that i was searching in RUclips for a long!
so you agree the Indian market will evolve as well with times, the disposable incomes are increasing and the brand loyality is decreasing resulting for better opportunities for new entrants. great video, amazing visuals. Keep up the good work Varun sir.
There was no audiance for Compact SUVs but we are seeing every car nowdays
They are trying to create one.
Whatever you said makes sense but we need to reach out to the other 99% of Indian population with this knowledge. Sone ki chidiya ande se bahar nikal rahi hai 🤝
Great video. I came back from my life in Marina, Dubai to Bangalore now, i see the developmental stages but it's way too crowded for a swift change for the most parts still as mentioned. The basics that we are used to abroad are viewed very premium in India and everyone in the business world monetize on this, even though the manufacturing, implementation and maintenance of decent quality of life overall would be the same. We really need to widen the perspective here. Something like how Jio disrupted the mobile network monopoly which let to India being focused upon by content creators of the world for the rise in viewership from our country.
Don’t you realize Jio is the monopoly or duopoly. From Airtel and Vodafone , it became Airtel and JIO.
@@ramanannatarajan5413 before jio, Airtel and other networks used to charge us insanely high amount of rupees for their benefits. Now because of Jio the whole game got disrupted.
I usually never comment on videos but this one is truly inspiring. The production quality, the research that must go into making this videos is unparalleled. Really makes me look forward to our future as a global soft power. Keep going!
US is built on China, Vietnam, and Indian (Customer Care). US has been good at Importing ideas, and talents
Yes you are right, branding and packaging is amazing in America
Now this is called quality content. Happy to give 10-15 mins of my time daily for such awesome information.
Great video. I loved the way you concluded. Keep growing
this all butterfly dream of america in india only comes when indans change their mentallity , not just indulge in caste , reservation ,liguistic and religion or whos bigger than me
Modern Indian culture is the most toxic imo
Bro, the explanation was wonderful. And I also accept that if India wants to grow we want to tell our stories. And that's what started in India. Also, Nikhil Kamath is also telling the same thing.
Varun Mayya Video >>>>>>>>>>> Bollywood
Nowayyy this video is worth $99999. Such a great insight.
You just sold me an Indian Dream just now, good one, keep going!!!!
What an insightful video. As pointed out India's flaws and where we could better ourselves as a country but we definitely need to be doing some story telling which is where I'm focused at (after returning back from North America) when it comes to building our own narration for the future of a better India, leaving this video with a positive feeling! Thank you.
Love this video. Will share it with others.
Fantastic video with very thoughtful writing.
I hope as per capita income in real terms grow, India will also become a product nation.
India also have mindset to prefer foreign goods.british still rules our brain
you are currently the only creator in India from whom i expect this type of content
Such a great quality video.
Amazing video, pumped about the future!
I remember I used to watch Dhruv rathee's videos to kickstart my creativity after waking up in the morning (I'm a video editor). But now I watch your videos to get that creative boost. Man your videos are amazing compilation of everything from storytelling to Visuals to editing. Kudos to you and your team🤜🤛
NOW was truly an EPICCC Watch! What a Beautifully made video Varun🙌
kinda agree with your thesis in the end. manufacturing and media is where india needs to pickup.
What is even India man? A third world developing country for all that is. Only Indians think world revolves around India owing to their poor knowledge of the outside world. Here in Singapore, the pajeed workers are lining up for work telling many lies about their performance just to escape India.
Thanks Varun for mkaing such insightful content!!!
The videos you are making is a step towards change. Be consistent!
Loved the video, very clear with its message. Thought provoking and insightful
one thing i would like to point out, widening roads just results in the same amount of traffic jam spread over all the lanes. it might sound like it works on paper but it actually doesnt
Yoo. Hooked me till the end.
Felt like I gained some wisdom man.
Thanks!
This is some high quality content. Thanks
Truly one of the best vids on YT......thanks varun
Roads in America is not a feature but a bug. Public transport is horrendous.
Matter of fact if "You" were born in poor/middle class family you were never given opportunity to start content creation and told to suck up and take a 9-5 mediocre job, but as a youth i think indian parent are letting their children to take risk and supporting their future endeavours, without thinking about "Sharma ji se kya kahoonga "
Hence i think our youth make india great with their (stories) achievements .
So true, 25 years back I wanted to study data science and AI but my father said I would end up being a school teacher and forced me to study Naval Architecture. Their argument was the same as what society would think.
This was one of the best videos I've seen on You Tube !!. Request you too continue providing this level of content. Great work Varun and team !!
smoothly done......perfect
Respect to the team for creating This level of content
Loved it
It's quality when it comes to America
i am so happy i came across your channel, this is so informative
Loved the parallel analysis on the macro level!
Really outstanding video, the editing and the message is marvelous.
Great content Mr.mayya, excellent focus on the roadways issue here.
this is why USA is the no 1 country in the world. They can scale any idea to reputable global brands is something to behold.
Man the quality of content is next level, hats off to team.
Probably one of your best vidoes till date.
Even if coustomers started to have really diversified tastes, most of the items will be american ingridients inspired only, not local ingridients inspired.
Amazingly done Varun! Product Building is going to be cool in India in the next few years that's my thoughts 😀
Really well put! We need to improve and pick up the slack! At least now internet is more available! Amazing video and content! Kudos!!
wow . thanks varun .
The only point that made sense to me was "Disposable Income". Americans have a lot of disposable income
What is even India man? A third world developing country for all that is. Only Indians think world revolves around India owing to their poor knowledge of the outside world. Here in Singapore, the pajeed workers are lining up for work telling many lies about their performance just to escape India.
Subscribed. What a video! 👏🏼
You guys never disappoints with the production quality'
hear this if you wanna make bag - i live in US and here we don't have variety in different products means you can bring a completely desi old age classic winner from indian market and then rebrand it into something eyecatchy creative. you get everything. For examples- sex enhancing herbs, various nicotine products without tobacco, skincare etc.
I realized something just now. One thing is that this video is very informative, as Varun said, information dense protein bar. But for me, it's a problem. I'm confident that I will not retain all of this info and the only part I'll retain is the feelings and the conclusion I made while watching this video, and that too, I won't remember the context of those feelings, or conclusion.
For e.g. after watching this video, I'll definitely remember that "America is so good and India is so bad in infrastructure" But I won't retain any of the things like why the infrastructure and how the infrastructure
Since we're talking about how great Murica is, you forgot to mention the one thing they suck at- lack of public transportation and the drawbacks of their car culture.
Only bros accent might be holding him back from reaching global audience atp..good stuff
As long as he's understandable the accent shouldn't be a problem in gaining an international audience many youtubers with a foreign english accent have gone international the main issue his content is India centric and most people globally aren't that much interested in understanding India's problems and issues
If he discusses topics which have global importance then he might go international
